Description
This specification discloses the technique regarding an electric vehicle. The electric vehicle in this specification includes both a hybrid vehicle including both an electric motor (motor) and an engine for traveling, and a fuel cell vehicle including a fuel cell as a power source of the traveling electric motor.
There is known a power converter that converts output power of a DC power supply into power suitable for driving an electric motor (driving power). A smoothing capacitor may be connected in parallel between the DC power supply and the power converter. The smoothing capacitor suppresses the pulsating component included in the output current of the DC power supply or the pulsating component of the current propagating from the power converter side. The pulsating component of the current is sometimes called a ripple current or a ripple component. Even if a smoothing capacitor is inserted, a slight ripple current remains.
It is known that the smoothing capacitor has a reduced capacitance due to deterioration. When the electrostatic capacity decreases, the ripple removing ability of the smoothing capacitor decreases and the ripple increases. Therefore, for example, Patent Document 1 discloses a technique of measuring the ripple current and using it as an index of deterioration of the smoothing capacitor.
An electric vehicle also includes an electric power converter that converts in-vehicle DC electric power into electric power (driving electric power) suitable for driving an electric motor for traveling. A smoothing capacitor is connected in parallel between the DC power supply and the power converter. However, the magnitude of the output current of the electric motor for traveling frequently changes according to the accelerator operation by the driver. Then, the DC component of the current flowing between the DC power supply and the power converter also frequently changes. If the DC component of the current changes frequently, the magnitude of the ripple component also changes frequently, and it becomes difficult to determine the decrease in the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor based on the magnitude of the ripple current. The present specification provides a technique for determining a decrease in electrostatic capacitance of a smoothing capacitor (that is, deterioration of the smoothing capacitor) provided between a DC power supply and a power converter in an electric vehicle.
One form of an electric vehicle disclosed in this specification includes an electric motor that generates power for driving driving wheels, a DC power supply, a current sensor, first and second power converters, a smoothing capacitor, and a controller. Prepare The current sensor measures the output current of the DC power supply. The first power converter converts the output power of the DC power supply into the driving power of the electric motor. The output current of the power converter changes according to the accelerator operation by the driver. The smoothing capacitor is connected in parallel between the DC power supply and the first power converter. The second power converter is connected in parallel with the smoothing capacitor. The second power converter can operate at a constant output without depending on the driver's accelerator operation. The controller, in a state in which the first power converter is stopped and the second power converter is operated at a constant output, the ripple current of the ripple current measured by the current sensor that is equal to or more than the set threshold value exceeds the set number If detected, it is determined that the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor has decreased. The second power converter is any one of an air conditioner inverter, a lighting device DC-DC converter, a control device DC-DC converter, and a small motor DC-DC converter.
In the electric vehicle of the above-described mode, the first power converter whose output current changes frequently is stopped and the second power converter is operated at a constant output to stabilize the ripple current. In that state, the number of times of occurrence of ripple current equal to or greater than the set threshold value is counted, and if the count is detected exceeding the set number of times, it is determined that the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor has decreased. This electric vehicle firstly determines a decrease in the capacitance of a smoothing capacitor without using a first power converter for an electric motor whose output current changes frequently. Secondly, if the magnitude of the ripple current exceeds the set threshold value only once, it is not judged that the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor has decreased, and if the ripple current exceeding the set threshold value exceeds the set number of times, the capacitance decreases. To determine. With the above two points, it is possible to relatively accurately determine the decrease in the electrostatic capacity of the smoothing capacitor (that is, the deterioration of the smoothing capacitor).
An electric vehicle according to an embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. The electric vehicle of the embodiment is a
The
The
The
The
The
The
The
The ripple current Rp is a pulsating component of the current superimposed on the direct current value (current value of the DC component) that should be originally supplied from the
FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing an inspection process for a decrease in capacitance. In a situation where the
After starting the inspection process of FIG. 2, the
After that, the
FIG. 3 is a graph showing the ripple current Rp and the variables CT and Fd. Curves L1 and L2 showing an example of the ripple current Rp are shown in the lower part of FIG. In the lower part of FIG. 3, the horizontal axis represents time and the vertical axis represents the value of the ripple current Rp. The curve L1 shows an example of the ripple current Rp measured when the smoothing
The set threshold Th is a threshold for evaluating the value of the ripple current Rp. The peak value on the curve L1 is below the set threshold value Th. The peak value on the curve L2 is greater than or equal to the set threshold Th. The set threshold Th is a value set in advance according to the electrical characteristics designed for each device of the
The variable CT is set to "0" when the measured value of the ripple current Rp is less than the set threshold Th, and is set to "1" when the measured value of the ripple current Rp is equal to or more than the set threshold Th. The variable Fd is set to "0" when it is determined that the electrostatic capacitance of the smoothing
Returning to the description of FIG. 2, after the measurement of the ripple current Rp is started (step S140), the
When determining that the ripple current Rp has become equal to or greater than the set threshold Th (step S150 “YES”), the
The
When the variable N does not exceed the set number A (step S160 “NO”), the
When the inspection time has exceeded the set time (step S170 “YES”), the
The area of the variable Fd is assigned to the
After the inspection process of FIG. 2 is completed, when the value of the variable Fd is “0”, the
The features and advantages of the processing for detecting the decrease in the capacitance of the smoothing
Secondly, the
Points to be noted regarding the above-described embodiment will be described below. The
