Description
The present invention relates to a motorcycle tire for traveling on rough terrain.
The tread of a motorcycle tire that runs on rough terrain has a large number of blocks. These blocks form a block pattern. The surface of the block contacts the road surface. The edge of the block scratches the road surface. On soft ground, part of the tire is buried and the block scratches mud. The block affects the traction performance of the tire. The block affects the running performance of the tire.
From the viewpoint of improving traction performance, various studies have been made on blocks and block patterns formed by the blocks. An example of this study is disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2015-89780.
Motorcycles for running on rough terrain run on uneven road surfaces and obstacles such as stones and bedrock. This motorcycle may travel on a road surface having a large step. This may result in chipping of the tire block. The lack of blocks causes deterioration of traction performance.
There is a method of enlarging the block in order to prevent chipping of the block and improve durability of the block. However, increasing the block size increases the tire mass. As the blocks are made larger, the width of the groove between the blocks becomes smaller. As a result, the sludge drainage performance of the tire is reduced. This leads to a reduction in traction performance.
In order to prevent chipping of the block and improve durability of the block, there is a method of increasing the angle of the block edge (obtuse angle). However, when the angle of the edge of the block is increased, the force of the edge scratching the road surface decreases. This leads to a reduction in traction performance.

Hereinafter, the function and effect of the present invention will be described.
A motorcycle for traveling on an uneven terrain may travel on an obstacle or on a stepped road surface. This may result in chipping of the tire block. The lack of blocks causes deterioration of traction performance. Increasing the block size to increase the durability of the block increases the mass of the tire. If the block is made larger, the sludge draining performance will decrease. This results in poor traction performance on soft ground. When the angle of the edge of the block is increased in order to improve the durability of the block, the force with which the edge scratches the road surface becomes smaller. This leads to a reduction in traction performance.
In the
