Description
The present invention relates to an optical deflector and an optical scanning device.
In recent years, a scanning image display device using a laser light source has been developed and applied to a projector, a head-up display, a head-mounted display, and the like. These optically scan three-color laser beams generated from a light source with a scanning device, and project a display image on an image display unit such as a screen or a semi-transmissive plate called a combiner.
Optical scanning devices that use micromachine technology have the potential for power saving, miniaturization, and speeding up compared to polygon mirrors and conventional galvanometer mirrors. Practical application is expected because there is a possibility that it can be formed in large quantities at low cost using technology.
As such an optical scanning device using the micromachine technology, an optical deflector including a mirror unit (reflection unit) having a reflection surface and an actuator for swinging the mirror unit around a predetermined axis is already known. . For example, the optical deflector disclosed in
However, when an electric potential is supplied from an external power supply to the optical deflector, there is a problem that an excessive current flows and a defect occurs. For example, each lead wire for supplying a potential to a piezoelectric cantilever included in each piezoelectric actuator from an electrode pad that supplies a potential to an optical deflector from an external electrode, each lead wire for electrical connection between each piezoelectric cantilever, and each lead wire. Excess current flows through the contacts connecting the upper and lower electrodes of each piezoelectric cantilever, or each piezoelectric cantilever, etc., resulting in a defect of scorching. In particular, many defects occur in contacts close to electrode pads for supplying a potential from an external electrode.
As means for solving such a problem, for example, techniques as disclosed in
Patent Literature 3 discloses that a disc-shaped bonding pad is provided to reduce a portion where an electric field is locally concentrated, and to increase resistance to destruction due to latch-up or bipolar operation. There is disclosed a semiconductor protection device capable of protecting the semiconductor device.

In order to solve the above-described problem, one embodiment of the optical deflector according to the present invention includes a reflecting portion, a first piezoelectric body, and an electrode for applying a drive voltage to the first piezoelectric body, At least one piezoelectric actuator that drives the reflection unit, a lead wire that supplies a potential to an electrode of the piezoelectric actuator, at least one capacitor formed on the lead wire that includes a second piezoelectric body, and an external device. A voltage is applied, and an electrode pad is connected to the electrode of the piezoelectric actuator. The electrode and the electrode pad are connected by the lead wire, and the electrode and the capacitor are provided separately. The capacitor is formed at a position closer to the electrode pad than a connection point between the lead wire and the electrode and in a region where the piezoelectric actuator is not formed. Characterized in that that.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an optical deflector that prevents an excessive current from flowing when a potential is supplied from an external device to an electrode of a piezoelectric actuator.

As a result, the capacitor serves as a primary storage location of the rush current charge, and the concentration of the electric field on the piezoelectric actuator can be reduced.

<Optical deflector with a capacitor added to the lead wire>
In one embodiment, when a potential is supplied from an external device to the electrodes of the piezoelectric actuator, as a measure to prevent an excessive current from flowing, a portion where a defect occurs due to electric field concentration and an electrode serving as an external power supply portion are provided. A capacitance capacitor (hereinafter, also referred to as a “piezoelectric capacitor” or a “capacitor” as appropriate) formed of a piezoelectric material is hung on a

In addition, it is preferable that the piezoelectric capacitor be formed using a piezoelectric body that is a component of a piezoelectric actuator (piezoelectric cantilever). Thus, it is possible to provide an optical deflector with improved surge resistance without changing the process cost.

As described in the above embodiments, the
For example, a lead zirconate titanate (PZT) film having a large capacitance is used as a material for the piezoelectric body. Specifically, the
On the other hand, the
In addition, as described in the first embodiment, the location where the
As described above, in order to avoid an increase in the cost of the manufacturing process of the optical deflector, the capacitor has the same configuration as the piezoelectric cantilever, specifically, a laminated structure of a lower electrode, a piezoelectric body, and an upper electrode, It is preferable to use the same material as the piezoelectric body and the electrode of the piezoelectric cantilever. Preferably, the capacitor is formed at a location where it can be manufactured by the same process as the piezoelectric cantilever.
