Description
The present invention relates to a lithium ion conductive ceramic material and a lithium battery.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, with the spread of electronic devices such as personal computers and mobile phones, the development of natural energy storage technologies, and the spread of electric vehicles and the like, demand for safe, long-life, and high-performance batteries has increased. In a conventional lithium ion secondary battery, an organic electrolyte layer in which a lithium salt is dissolved in an organic solvent may be used as the electrolyte layer. In a battery using such a liquid organic electrolyte layer, there is a danger of leakage, ignition, explosion, and the like of an organic solvent, which is not preferable in terms of safety. Therefore, in recent years, in order to ensure high safety, development of an all-solid battery in which a solid electrolyte layer is used instead of a liquid organic electrolyte layer and all other battery elements are made of solid has been promoted.
Since the electrolyte layer is made of ceramics, the all-solid-state battery is safe without any risk of leakage or ignition. In addition, the all-solid-state battery can simplify the exterior provided in a lithium-ion secondary battery using a liquid organic electrolyte layer, and can be miniaturized by stacking each battery element. Per unit weight and per unit weight can be improved. Among all solid-state batteries, all-solid-state lithium ion secondary batteries containing lithium metal in electrodes are expected to have high energy density. In an all-solid lithium ion secondary battery, since the reactivity of lithium metal is high, it is necessary to use an electrolyte layer that is stable to lithium metal and made of a specific material.
As a material constituting such an electrolyte layer, Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 (hereinafter referred to as LLZ), which is a ceramic material having a garnet-type crystal structure, is expected. The LLZ crystal structure mainly includes a cubic crystal and a tetragonal crystal. It has been reported that a cubic LLZ has a high ionic conductivity, for example, by substituting a specific element constituting the LLZ with another element.

First, an example of the lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention will be described. The lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention includes Li, La, and Zr, and at least one of Mg and A (A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba). Each of the contained elements satisfies the following (1) to (3) in a molar ratio, and has a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure.
(1) 1.33 ≦ Li / (La + A) ≦ 3
(2) 0 <Mg / (La + A) ≦ 0.5
(3) 0 <A / (La + A) ≦ 0.67
(1´)2.0≦Li/(La+A)≦2.5
(2´)0.01≦Mg/(La+A)≦0.14
(3´)0.04≦A/(La+A)≦0.17
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention preferably contains Li, La, Zr, Mg, and A. Further, each of the contained elements has the following molar ratio (1 ′) to (3 ′). Is more preferably satisfied.
(1 ′) 2.0 ≦ Li / (La + A) ≦ 2.5

Li7La3Zr2O12(LLZ)・・・一般式(I)
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material can be easily formed by sintering as compared with a ceramic material containing only Li, La, Zr, and O (oxygen), and has a high ion conductivity. For example, a ceramic material obtained by calcining a raw material obtained by blending a material containing only a Li component, a La component, and a Zr component at a predetermined ratio so as to obtain a compound represented by the following general formula (I) is obtained at room temperature by X When analyzed by a line diffraction apparatus (XRD), tetragonal LLZ is identified, and no LLZ peak of cubic, that is, garnet-type crystal structure (including a crystal structure similar to garnet-type) is observed. Tetragonal LLZ does not have very high ionic conductivity and is about 1 × 10 −7 S / cm. On the other hand, in the present invention, a ceramic material is obtained by firing a raw material obtained by adding a predetermined amount of a material containing an Mg component and / or a material containing an element A in addition to a material containing a Li component, a La component, and a Zr component. . In this ceramic material, LLZ having a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure is identified by XRD analysis. The LLZ having a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure has a higher ionic conductivity than that of a tetragonal LLZ.

Heretofore, it has been reported that a garnet-type crystal structure can be obtained by adding an element such as Al, Nb, and Ta to the LLZ as a substitution element, and that the ionic conductivity is improved (

(b)リチウムイオン伝導性セラミックス材料は、Li、La、Zr、及びAを含み、前記各元素がモル比で、1.33≦Li/(La+A)≦3、かつ、0<A/(La+A)≦0.67 を満たす。
1.33≦Li/(La+A)≦3、0<Mg/(La+A)≦0.5、かつ0<A/(La+A)≦0.67 を満たす。
2.0≦Li/(La+A)≦2.5、0.01≦Mg/(La+A)≦0.14、かつ0.04≦A/(La+A)≦0.17 を満たす。
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, and Zr, contains at least one of Mg and A, and each contained element satisfies (1) to (3) in a molar ratio; It is preferable to satisfy (3 ′). In other words, the lithium ion conductive ceramic material satisfies any of the following (a) to (c), and preferably satisfies (c), and more preferably satisfies (d).
(A) The lithium ion conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, Zr, and Mg, and the respective elements have a molar ratio of 1.33 ≦ Li / La ≦ 3 and 0 <Mg / La ≦ 0. 5 is satisfied.
(B) The lithium ion conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, Zr, and A, and the respective elements have a molar ratio of 1.33 ≦ Li / (La + A) ≦ 3 and 0 <A / (La + A). ) ≦ 0.67.
(C) The lithium ion conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, Zr, Mg, and A, and the respective elements have a molar ratio of 1.33 ≦ Li / (La + A) ≦ 3, 0 <Mg / (La + A) ) ≦ 0.5 and 0 <A / (La + A) ≦ 0.67.
(D) The lithium ion conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, Zr, Mg, and A, and the respective elements have a molar ratio of 2.0 ≦ Li / (La + A) ≦ 2.5, 0.01 ≦ Mg / (La + A) ≦ 0.14 and 0.04 ≦ A / (La + A) ≦ 0.17 are satisfied.
When the lithium ion conductive ceramic material satisfies the condition (a), that is, when it contains Li, La, Zr, and Mg in a molar ratio satisfying the conditions (1) and (2), the ionic conductivity is good. Is shown. Although the mechanism is not clear, for example, when LLZ contains Mg, since the ionic radius of Li and the ionic radius of Mg are close, Mg is easily arranged at the Li site where Li is arranged in the LLZ crystal phase, It is considered that when Mg is substituted for Li, a hole is generated in the Li site in the crystal structure due to the difference in charge between Li and Mg, and Li ions can easily move. As a result, it is considered that the ionic conductivity is improved. In the lithium ion conductive ceramic material, when the molar ratio of Li to the sum of La and the element A is less than 1.33 or more than 3, the lithium ion conductive ceramic material having a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure In addition, another metal oxide is easily formed. As the content of another metal oxide increases, the content of a lithium ion conductive ceramic material having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet-type crystal decreases, and the ionic conductivity of another metal oxide also increases. Is low, the ionic conductivity decreases. As the content of Mg in the lithium ion conductive ceramic material increases, Mg is disposed at the Li site, vacancies are generated at the Li site, and the lithium ion conductivity improves. However, the molar ratio of Mg to the sum of La and the element A increases. When the ratio exceeds 0.5, another metal oxide containing Mg is easily formed. As the content of the other Mg-containing metal oxide increases, the content of the lithium ion conductive ceramic material having a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure relatively decreases. Since the ionic conductivity of another metal oxide containing Mg is low, if the molar ratio of Mg to the sum of La and the element A exceeds 0.5, the ionic conductivity decreases.
When the lithium ion conductive ceramic material satisfies the condition (b), that is, when it contains Li, La, Zr, and A in a molar ratio satisfying the conditions (1) and (3), it has good ionic conductivity. Is shown. Although the mechanism is not clear, for example, when the LLZ contains the element A, the ionic radius of La and the ionic radius of the element A are close, so the element A is located at the La site where La is located in the LLZ crystal phase. It is considered that the substitution with the element A in place of La causes lattice distortion and increases the free Li ions due to the difference in charge between La and the element A, thereby improving the ionic conductivity. As the content of the element A in the lithium ion conductive ceramic material increases, the element A is arranged at the La site, the lattice strain increases, and free Li ions increase due to the difference in charge between La and the element A. Although the conductivity is improved, when the molar ratio of the element A to the sum of La and the element A exceeds 0.67, another metal oxide containing the element A is easily formed. As the content of another metal oxide containing the element A increases, the content of the lithium ion conductive ceramic material having a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure relatively decreases, and Since the ionic conductivity of the other metal oxide contained is low, the ionic conductivity decreases.

Further, when the lithium ion conductive ceramic material satisfies the above (d), that is, when it contains Li, La, Zr, Mg and A in a molar ratio satisfying (1 ′) to (3 ′). In addition, the ionic conductivity is further improved. Although the mechanism is not clear, for example, by substituting Mg for Li at the Li site in LLZ and substituting element A for La at the La site, vacancies are generated at the Li site, and It is considered that the free Li ions increase and the ionic conductivity is further improved.

In any of the cases (a) to (d), the lithium ion conductive ceramic material preferably contains Zr so as to satisfy the following (4) in a molar ratio. The types and contents of the elements contained in the lithium ion conductive ceramic material can be measured by ICP emission spectroscopy (high frequency inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy). Specifically, when the lithium ion conductive ceramic material is a sintered body, a composition analysis is performed by applying a solution obtained by dissolving a powder obtained by grinding the powder to a solvent such as an acid to an ICP emission spectrometer.
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material is analyzed by ICP emission spectroscopy (high frequency inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy) to determine the presence of each element of Li, La, and Zr and at least one of Mg and A. The mole ratio of the confirmed and confirmed elements satisfies (1) to (3), preferably satisfies (1 ′) to (3 ′), and has a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure by XRD analysis. Anything that can be confirmed is acceptable. The existence form of Mg and A in the lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention is not particularly limited. Examples of the existence form of Mg include, for example, disposition at a Li site of a crystal phase having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet-type, intrusion into the crystal structure, and / or existence as another phase at a crystal grain boundary or the like. A form can be mentioned. Mg is preferably arranged at the Li site of the crystal phase having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet-type crystal from the viewpoint of improving ionic conductivity. Examples of the existence form of the element A include, for example, disposition at the La site of a crystal phase having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet-type, penetration into the crystal structure, and / or existence as another phase at a crystal grain boundary or the like. The element A is preferably arranged at the La site in the crystal phase having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet-type crystal from the viewpoint of improving ionic conductivity.
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, and Zr, and at least one of Mg and A. The lithium ion conductive ceramic material may contain an element other than the above elements as long as it has a desired ion conductivity. In addition, elements such as Li may volatilize during firing in the manufacturing process of the sintered body of the lithium ion conductive ceramic material, or each of the above-described elements may enter the crystal structure. The material does not always show an ideal composition. For example, the material has a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure, and has a general formula (II): B 7 C 3 D 2 O 12 (B is Li and And / or C is a metal element capable of substituting La and / or La, and D is a metal element capable of substituting Zr and / or Zr). .
得られたX線回折パターンとICDD(International Center for Diffraction Data)カードとを対比することにより、リチウムイオン伝導性セラミックス材料に含有される物質を同定する。 Whether the lithium-ion conductive ceramic material has a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure can be confirmed by analyzing the lithium-ion conductive ceramic material with an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Specifically, the powder obtained by pulverizing the lithium ion conductive ceramic material is analyzed by an X-ray diffractometer to obtain an X-ray diffraction pattern. The substance contained in the lithium ion conductive ceramic material is identified by comparing the obtained X-ray diffraction pattern with an ICDD (International Center for Diffraction Data) card. The X-ray diffraction pattern is compared using an ICDD card (01-080-4947 (Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 ) corresponding to LLZ (cubic crystal). Since the material has a different composition from that of the ICDD card (01-080-4947) (Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 ), the diffraction angle and the diffraction intensity ratio of the diffraction peak may be different.
Note that, in the lithium ion conductive ceramic material, only peaks indicating metal oxides having a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure are detected when XRD analysis is performed, and substantially a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like similar crystal structure is detected. It is preferable to use only a metal oxide having a crystal structure since a high ionic conductivity can be obtained. As long as the desired ion conductivity can be obtained, the lithium ion conductive ceramic material does not have to be formed only of a metal oxide having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to a garnet-type crystal. A peak other than a peak indicating a metal oxide having a type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to a garnet type may be detected. When a peak other than a peak indicating a metal oxide having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to a garnet-type is detected, the intensity of the peak indicating a metal oxide having a garnet-type crystal structure or a metal oxide having a garnet-type similar crystal structure, The intensity of the first peak, the second peak, and the third peak are the first peak, the second peak, and the third peak indicating the other metal oxides as the first peak, the second peak, and the third peak in descending order. It is preferable that the value be larger than that in that a desired ion conductivity can be obtained.
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material may be a powder or a sintered body (bulk body) having a predetermined size. The shape of the sintered body is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include a pellet, a thin plate, and a thin film. When the lithium ion conductive ceramic material is used as a

The relative density can be determined as follows. First, the dry mass of the sintered body is measured with, for example, an electronic balance, and the volume of the sintered body is measured with a caliper. The measured density of the sintered body is calculated by dividing the measured dry mass by the volume. On the other hand, the theoretical density of the sintered body is calculated. The relative density (%) can be obtained as a value obtained by dividing the measured density by the theoretical density and multiplying by 100.
The lithium ion conductive ceramic material preferably has an ionic conductivity at room temperature of 1 × 10 −5 S / cm or more. When the ionic conductivity of the lithium ion conductive ceramic material is in the above range, it is possible to provide the all
The ionic conductivity can be determined as follows. First, after polishing both surfaces of a bulk body that is a sintered body, and applying a gold coating to the polished surface, the resistivity of the bulk body that is a sintered body at room temperature is measured by an AC impedance method. The ionic conductivity can be calculated as the reciprocal of the specific resistance.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention has good ionic conductivity while suppressing costs, and thus can be suitably used as various materials constituting a lithium battery. Examples of a material constituting the lithium battery include a material for forming a positive electrode layer, a negative electrode layer, a solid electrolyte layer, and a protective layer disposed between the solid electrolyte layer and the positive electrode layer or the negative electrode layer.
Next, an example of a method for producing a lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention will be described. Hereinafter, a case where the lithium ion conductive ceramic material according to the present invention is manufactured as a sintered body will be described. The method for producing a lithium ion conductive ceramic material includes a compounding step of compounding raw materials to obtain a compounded material, and a firing step of firing the obtained compounded material.

In the compounding step, a material containing, as raw materials, components of Li, La, and Zr and at least one of Mg and A (A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba) Is blended to obtain a blended material. The components to be blended are blended in such a ratio that a lithium ion conductive ceramic material having a garnet type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet type is obtained. In the compounding step of this embodiment, each component after sintering satisfies the following (1) to (4) in a molar ratio, and preferably satisfies the following (1 ′) to (4 ′). To mix. In particular, since Li is easily volatilized during firing, it is contained more than the composition of the lithium ion conductive ceramic material to be obtained after firing. By baking the obtained compounding material as described below, a garnet-type crystal structure or a garnet-like crystal structure in which a part of the crystal phase represented by the general formula (I) is substituted with Mg and / or element A is obtained. A lithium ion conductive ceramic material having the same can be obtained.

The material containing each component is not particularly limited as long as it is a material that can be converted into each component by firing. For example, oxide, composite oxide, water containing each component of Li, La, Zr, Mg, and A Oxides, carbonates, chlorides, sulfates, nitrates, phosphates and the like can be mentioned. Specific examples of the material containing the above components include Li 2 O, LiOH, Li 2 CO 3 , La 2 O 3 , La (OH) 3 , ZrO 2 , MgO, MgCO 3 , CaO, CaCO 3 , SrO, Powders such as SrCO 3 , BaO, BaCO 3 and the like can be given. The material containing the above components may or may not contain an oxygen (O) component. When the material containing the above components does not contain an oxygen (O) component, Li, La, Zr, and O can be obtained by appropriately setting the firing atmosphere, such as performing a firing step described below in an oxidizing atmosphere. A lithium ion conductive ceramic material containing Mg and / or A can be obtained.
For the preparation of the compounding material, a known method for preparing a raw material powder in the synthesis of ceramics can be appropriately adopted. For example, a material containing the above components is put into a nylon pot together with zirconia balls, pulverized and mixed in an organic solvent for 8 to 20 hours by a ball mill, and further dried to obtain a compounded material. Examples of the organic solvent include alcohols such as ethanol and butanol, and acetone.
Before the firing step, it is preferable to include a step of temporarily firing the compounding material. In this step, for example, the compounded material is pre-fired on an MgO plate at 900 to 1100 ° C. for 2 to 15 hours to obtain a pre-fired material. By performing the preliminary firing step, a material having a garnet-type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet-type crystal structure is easily obtained after the firing step.
Before the firing step, it is preferable to include a step of adding a binder to the pre-fired material and pulverizing and mixing. In this step, for example, a binder is added to the calcined material, and the mixture is pulverized and mixed in an organic solvent for 8 to 100 hours by a ball mill, and further dried to obtain an unfired material. By further pulverizing and mixing the calcined material, a uniform crystal phase is easily obtained after the calcining step. Examples of the binder include methyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, and polyvinyl butyral. Examples of the organic solvent include ethanol, butanol, and acetone.
In the firing step, the compounding material obtained through the above-described mixing step is fired. Specifically, the compounded material is put into a mold having a desired shape and size, and after press molding, for example, using a cold isostatic pressing machine (CIP: Cold Isostatic Pressing) to 1 to 1 A hydrostatic pressure of 2 t / cm 2 is applied to obtain a molded body. The compact is fired at 1000 to 1250 ° C. for 3 to 36 hours to obtain a sintered body of a lithium ion conductive ceramic material.
When the compounding material does not contain an oxygen component, it is preferable to bake the molded body in an oxygen atmosphere, and when the compounding material contains an oxygen component, an inert gas such as nitrogen is used. The compact may be fired in an active gas atmosphere or a reducing atmosphere. In the case where a pre-baking step is performed after the blending step, the baking step is performed on the pre-baked material. When the step of adding a binder and pulverizing is performed after the compounding step, the firing step is performed on the unfired material.

An all solid state battery according to a second embodiment of the lithium battery according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional explanatory view showing an all-solid-state battery which is one embodiment of the lithium battery according to the present invention. The all-solid-
