Description

本願は、電気光学ディスプレイに関し、いくつかの側面は、より具体的には、テキスト、文字、および記号等を表示するためにグリフを使用するときのそのようなディスプレイの制御に関する。
本願の側面は、ヒンティング間に殆どまたは全く変動を伴わずに、2つ以上のビット深度において、テキスト、文字、または記号等を電気光学ディスプレイ上に表示するための方法を提供する。いくつかの実施形態では、同一ヒンティングが、2つの異なるビット深度において同一テキストを連続して表示するために使用される。

前記少なくとも1つのヒントは、前記第1のビット深度および前記第2のビット深度に共通であり、かつ、前記第1のビット深度および前記第2のビット深度の両方に対して前記フォントの少なくとも1つの特性を最適化するように構成される、項目1に記載の方法。
(項目6)
前記第1のビット深度において前記グリフを表示することは、前記第2のビット深度において前記グリフを表示することより時間がかからない、項目1に記載の方法。
(項目7)
電気光学ディスプレイを駆動させる方法であって、前記方法は、
グリフをディスプレイ上に表示し、前記ディスプレイの第1の数のピクセルを占有し、続いて、前記グリフを包囲する前記ディスプレイの第2の数のピクセルを能動的に駆動させることによって、前記グリフをディスプレイから除去することであって、前記第2の数のピクセルは、前記第1の数のピクセルを上回る、ことを含む、方法。
(項目8)
前記第1の数のピクセルは、第1の数のエッジを有する第1の境界を画定し、前記第2の数のピクセルは、前記第1の数のエッジ未満の第2の数のエッジを有する第2の境界を画定する、項目7に記載の方法。
(項目9)
前記第2の数のピクセルを点滅させることは、前記第2の数のピクセルを同一グレーレベルに駆動させることを含む、項目7に記載の方法。
(項目10)
同一グレーレベルは、白色に対応する、項目9に記載の方法。

前記第2の数のピクセルを能動的に駆動させることは、前記第2の数のピクセルを駆動させることにより次の画像を表示させることを含む、項目7に記載の方法。

Claims (3)
- 電気光学ディスプレイを駆動させるための方法であって、前記方法は、
第1の時間においてディスプレイ上にグリフを表示することであって、前記グリフは、フォントヒントを使用するフォントを含み、前記第1の時間において、前記グリフは第1のビット深度において提示される、ことと、
前記第1のビット深度において前記グリフを表示した後、第2のビット深度において前記ディスプレイ上に第2の時間において同一グリフを表示することであって、前記第2の時間において提示される前記グリフは、同一フォントヒントを使用する前記フォントを含む、ことと
を含み、
前記第1のビット深度は、前記第2のビット深度よりも少ないビットを有し、前記第1のビット深度において前記グリフを表示するのに必要な時間は、前記第2のビット深度において前記グリフを表示するのに必要な時間よりも短い、方法。 - 前記第1のビット深度は、1ビットである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フォントヒントは、前記第1のビット深度および前記第2のビット深度に共通であり、かつ、前記第1のビット深度および前記第2のビット深度の両方に対して前記フォントの少なくとも1つの特性を最適化するように構成される、請求項1に記載の方法。
