Description
The present invention relates to a developing device that can be attached to and detached from an electrophotographic image forming apparatus (hereinafter referred to as “image forming apparatus”).
An image forming apparatus such as a printer using an electrophotographic process uniformly charges an electrophotographic photosensitive member (hereinafter referred to as “photosensitive drum”), and forms a latent image by selective exposure to the photosensitive drum. . The latent image is developed with a developer (hereinafter referred to as “toner”), and is visualized as a toner image. The toner image is transferred to a recording medium, and heat or pressure is applied to the transferred toner image to fix the toner image on the recording medium, thereby recording the image. Such an image forming apparatus requires replenishment of developer and maintenance of various process means.
Therefore, as a means for facilitating the replenishment work and maintenance of the developer, all or part of the photosensitive drum, charging means, cleaning means, developing device, etc. are collectively formed into a cartridge that can be attached to and detached from the image forming apparatus. The method is adopted. According to this process cartridge system, the user can perform maintenance of the apparatus in the form of replacement of a process cartridge (hereinafter referred to as “cartridge”), so that the operability can be remarkably improved.
In such a developing device of the cartridge, the developer flows out of the developing device at both ends of a developer carrier (hereinafter referred to as “developing roller”) rotatably supported by the developing frame. An end seal is provided to prevent this. Further, a flexible sheet member is disposed so as to contact the outer periphery along the rotation axis direction of the developing roller (hereinafter referred to as “longitudinal direction”), and the developer from the gap between the developing frame body and the developer carrying body. To prevent leakage.
The end seal and the flexible sheet member are attached to the developing frame. Then, the gap between the developing frame, the end seal, and the flexible sheet member is filled with a filling member, and the developer is filled from the gap between the developing frame, the end seal, and the flexible sheet member. Is prevented from leaking.
The filling member increases in consumption by spreading to a region other than the gap between the developing frame, the end seal, and the flexible sheet member. Therefore, in order to suppress consumption of the filling member, a configuration is known in which a protrusion that suppresses the spread of the filling member is provided on a support portion to which the end seal is attached (Patent Document 1).
In addition, a configuration is known in which a protrusion is provided in the filling space of the filling member to prevent the filling member from protruding from the flexible sheet member even when the filling member is filled with a high filling pressure (patent) Reference 2).
However, when a protrusion that suppresses the spread of the filling member of

A developing device according to an embodiment of the present invention that solves the above problems includes a frame , a developer carrier rotatably provided on the frame , and the developer in a rotation axis direction of the developer carrier. and the end of the carrier, the frame and body, and the end seal which is fixed to the seat surface of the frame body so as to seal the gap,
Wherein one end of the rotary axis is in contact with the developer carrying member, the other end is fixed to the frame, and Cie over preparative member end portion of the rotation axis direction to contact the end seal, the rotating in the axial direction is provided on the frame body so as to be adjacent to the seat surface, and a projection portion projecting toward the said developer carrying member than in the region of the seating surface adjacent the, and the protrusion, the end And a filling member filled between the sheet member and the sheet member , wherein the frame body has the seat between the protrusion and the seat surface in the rotational axis direction. It has the groove part dented in the direction opposite to the direction in which the said protrusion part protrudes rather than a surface .
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a developing device and a process cartridge that improve the sealing performance of the developer and suppress the leakage of the developer from the frame.

<Configuration of cartridge>
FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing an example of a process cartridge according to the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing an example of a process cartridge according to the present invention.

As shown in FIG. 3, the charging
The
Further, the toner scraped off from the surface of the photosensitive drum 4 by the

As shown in FIGS. 3, 9A, and 9B, the developing

As shown in FIG. 7B, the

《Configuration near the end seal》
The configuration in the vicinity of the end seal of the developing
FIG. 1 is an explanatory view of the developing
Next, as shown to Fig.9 (a), the
The
At this time, in order to fill the
Note that the longitudinal width T of the notch 29b2 is set so that T> M2 in consideration of the manufacturing error of the width M2 in the longitudinal direction of the intruding portion of the
As shown in FIG. 12, the filling
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 8, an
However, the
Therefore, in the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, the
Accordingly, as shown in FIG. 13, since the vicinity of the interface between the
Furthermore, since the filling
In addition, in this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1B, it is preferable that the
In other words, even if one end in the longitudinal direction of the
In addition, although it was set as the structure which provided the notch part 29b2 in the
In the present embodiment, the example in which the
