Description
The present invention relates to a hybrid vehicle, and more particularly, to a hybrid vehicle including an engine that can change the opening / closing timing of an intake valve by an electric actuator and an electric motor that can crank the engine.
Conventionally, in this type of hybrid vehicle, when the low temperature switch is turned on and the outside air temperature is lower than the threshold value, the opening / closing timing of the intake valve is set as a predetermined advance position where the ignitability of the engine is good, and the engine is stopped. Have been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this hybrid vehicle, the above-described control improves the ignitability when the engine is started for the first time after the next system startup, and starts the engine more reliably at low temperatures.
However, in the above-described hybrid vehicle, vibration occurs when the engine is started at a low temperature, and the vehicle behavior may not be appropriate. If cranking is performed with the opening / closing timing of the intake valve set to a predetermined advance position so that the ignition performance of the engine is good, the in-cylinder pressure increases to some extent, and torque pulsation during cranking increases. For this reason, vibration is generated in the vehicle, or abnormal noise is generated due to gear rattling, which gives the passenger an uncomfortable feeling. To deal with these problems, it is also possible to execute vibration suppression control that suppresses vehicle vibration when starting the engine, or to perform pressing control that applies torque that presses in one direction so that the gear does not rattle. It is done. However, when the temperature is low, the output of the battery is greatly limited, and thus it may not be possible to execute these controls.
The main purpose of the hybrid vehicle of the present invention is to harmonize the startability of the engine at low temperatures and the ride comfort of the occupant.
The hybrid vehicle of the present invention employs the following means in order to achieve the main object described above.

The hybrid vehicle of the present invention
In a hybrid vehicle comprising an engine that can change the opening and closing timing of an intake valve by an electric actuator, an electric motor that can crank the engine, and a battery that exchanges electric power with the electric motor,
When the engine is started when the cooling water temperature of the engine is lower than a predetermined temperature, electric power necessary for control for suppressing a sense of incongruity given to an occupant due to abnormal noise or vibration at the time of starting the engine is supplied to the battery. Start-up control means for starting the engine by advancing the opening / closing timing of the intake valve as the usable power obtained by subtracting from the output limit is smaller;
It is characterized by providing.
In the hybrid vehicle of the present invention, when starting the engine when the coolant temperature of the engine is lower than a predetermined temperature, first, control is performed to suppress a sense of incongruity given to the occupant due to abnormal noise or vibration when starting the engine. Calculate the available power by subtracting the required power from the battery output limit. Then, the smaller the calculated usable power, the more the intake valve opening / closing timing is advanced, and the engine is started. The more the intake valve opening / closing timing is advanced, the smaller the engine speed, which is the in-cylinder pressure that can be ignited, the power consumption of the motor required to start the engine can be reduced, and the engine can be started quickly. On the other hand, if the opening / closing timing of the intake valve is advanced, torque pulsation at the time of cranking increases, which causes the vehicle to vibrate or cause gear rattling, giving the passenger a sense of incongruity. However, in the hybrid vehicle of the present invention, the electric power necessary for the control for suppressing the uncomfortable feeling given to the occupant due to abnormal noise or vibration at the start of the engine is taken into account. Can suppress a sense of incongruity. As a result, the engine startability and the ride comfort of the occupant can be harmonized at low temperatures. Here, as control for suppressing the uncomfortable feeling given to the occupant, the vehicle is controlled by pressing control for suppressing the generation of abnormal noise due to rattling of the gear due to torque pulsation caused by engine cranking, or by cranking. Vibration control for suppressing vibrations generated in the motor.
In such a hybrid vehicle of the present invention, the start control means uses the opening / closing timing of the intake valve that becomes an in-cylinder pressure at which the engine can be started when the engine is cranked by the electric motor using the usable electric power. It can also be a means for starting the engine. If it carries out like this, an engine can be started more reliably by usable electric power.

Next, the operation of the
When the start time control routine is executed, the
When the coolant temperature Tw of the
When the coolant temperature Tw of the
When the power Ps is calculated in this way, the usable power Pu is calculated as power that can be used for starting the
FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing an example of the relationship between the advance amount CA and the in-cylinder pressure when the
FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing an example of the relationship between the output limit Wout of the
