Claims (36)
- 多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)切削工具の製造方法において、
(1)基材、
(2)少なくとも立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)、
(3)cBNとセラミックの混合物、
を積層するステップと、
高圧高温(HPHT)を適用するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とし、前記基材が炭化物及びCoを含む、製造方法。 - 前記基材が金属およびケイ素のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 積層ステップが、タンタル(Ta)、モリブデン(Mo)または第IV〜VI族の遷移金属のホイルシートまたはラップで形成された耐火性カプセル内で行われる請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックが、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記耐火性カプセルが、(1)基材、(2)cBN、および(3)cBN粉末とセラミックの混合物を含む請求項3に記載の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックが、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、Ti2AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項5に記載の製造方法。
- 前記高温高圧の適用を終了するステップをさらに含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- (3)中のcBNの第1の濃度が、(2)中のcBNの第2の濃度よりも低い請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記高温高圧を適用した時点で、前記基材の炭化物が最初に(2)を横断して拡散し、次に(3)を横断して拡散する請求項1に記載の製造方法。

- (2)が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、Ti2AlN、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- (2)中で、cBNの第2の濃度が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、Ti2AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つの濃度よりも高い、請求項14に記載の製造方法。
- (2)中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第1の濃度が、(3)中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第2の濃度よりも低い請求項14に記載の製造方法。

(1)基材と、
(2)少なくとも立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)と、
(3)cBNとセラミックの混合物と、
が含まれ、前記基材が炭化物及びCoを含む、多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。 - 前記基材が金属およびケイ素のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。

- 前記セラミックが、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (3)中のcBNの第1の濃度が、(2)中のcBNの第2の濃度よりも低い請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記高温高圧を適用した時点で、前記基材の炭化物が最初に(2)を横断して拡散し、次に(3)を横断して拡散する請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (1)が約0.0より大きく8mmより小さい厚みである請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (2)または(3)が約0.3〜3.2mmの厚みである請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (2)が約0.5〜1.0mmの厚みである請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (3)が約0.3〜1.0mmの厚みである請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (2)が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、Ti2AlN、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (2)中で、cBNの第2の濃度が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、Ti2AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つの濃度よりも高い請求項23に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- (2)中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第1の濃度が、(3)中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第2の濃度よりも低い請求項23に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記内容物の(2)または(3)が予備コンパクトディスクの形態である請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記内容物の(2)または(3)が粉末である請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記基材がMe(C、N)形態の金属炭窒化物を含む請求項20に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)切削工具の製造方法において、
(i)立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)とセラミックの混合物、
(ii)少なくともcBN、
(iii)基材、
を積層するステップと、
高圧高温(HPHT)を適用するステップと、
を含み、前記基材が炭化物及びCoを含む、製造方法。
