Claims (38)
- 多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)切削工具の製造方法において、
基材の第1の量と、
少なくとも立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)の第2の量と、
cBNとセラミックの混合物の第3の量と、
を積層するステップと、
高圧高温(HPHT)を適用するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする製造方法。 - 前記基材が金属およびケイ素のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 析出ステップが、タンタル(Ta)、モリブデン(Mo)または第IV〜VI族の遷移金属のホイルシートまたはラップで形成された耐火性カプセル内で行われる請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記基材が炭化物を含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックが、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記耐火性カプセルが、(1)基材、(2)cBN、および(3)cBN粉末とセラミックの混合物を含む請求項3に記載の製造方法。
- 前記セラミックが、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、Ti2AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項6に記載の製造方法。
- 前記高温高圧の適用を終了するステップをさらに含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第3の量中のcBNの第1の濃度が、前記第2の量中のcBNの第2の濃度よりも低い請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記HPHTを適用した時点で、前記基材の炭化物が最初に少なくともcBNの第2の量を横断して拡散し、次にcBNとセラミックの混合物の第3の量を横断して拡散する請求項4に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第1の量が約0.0より大きく8mmより小さい厚みである請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第2の量または前記第3の量が約0.3〜3.2mmの厚みである請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第2の量が約0.5〜1.0mmの厚みである請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第3の量が約0.3〜1.0mmの厚みである請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第2の量が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、Ti2AlN、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第2の量中で、cBNの第2の濃度が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、Ti2AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つの濃度よりも高い、請求項15に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第2の量中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第1の濃度が、前記第3の量中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第2の濃度よりも低い請求項15に記載の製造方法。
- 積層した前記第2の量または前記第3の量が予備コンパクトディスクの形をしている請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 積層した前記第2の量または前記第3の量が粉末である請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記基材がMe(C、N)形態の金属炭窒化物を含む請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)切削工具において、
高圧高温(HPHT)が適用される内容物に、
基材の第1の量と、
少なくとも立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)の第2の量と、
cBNとセラミックの混合物の第3の量と、
が含まれることを特徴とする多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。 - 前記基材が金属およびケイ素のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記内容物が、タンタル(Ta)、モリブデン(Mo)または第IV〜VI族の遷移金属のホイルシートまたはラップで形成された耐火性カプセル内へ収納されたものである請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記基材が炭化物を含む請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記セラミックが、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第3の量中のcBNの第1の濃度が、第2の量中のcBNの第2の濃度よりも低い請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記高温高圧を適用した時点で、前記基材の炭化物が最初に少なくともcBNの第2の量を横断して拡散し、次にcBNとセラミックの混合物の第3の量を横断して拡散する請求項24に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第1の量が約0.0より大きく8mmより小さい厚みである請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第2の量または前記第3の量が約0.3〜3.2mmの厚みである請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第2の量が約0.5〜1.0mmの厚みである請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第3の量が約0.3〜1.0mmの厚みである請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第2の量が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、TiC、Ti2AlN、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つを含む請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第2の量中で、cBNの第2の濃度が、TiN、Al2O3、AlN、Ti2AlN、TiC、TiCN、ZrN、ZrO2およびHfO2からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つの濃度よりも高い請求項25に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記第2の量中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第1の濃度が、前記第3の量中のTiNまたはAl2O3の第2の濃度よりも低い請求項25に記載多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記内容物の前記第2の量または前記第3の量が予備コンパクトディスクの形をしている請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記内容物の前記第2の量または前記第3の量が粉末である請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 前記基材がMe(C、N)形態の金属炭窒化物を含む請求項21に記載の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素切削工具。
- 多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)切削工具の製造方法において、
cBNとセラミックの混合物の第1の量と、
少なくともcBNの第2の量と、
基材の第3の量と、
を積層するステップと、
高圧高温(HPHT)を適用するステップと、
を含む製造方法。
