Description
The present invention relates to an article inspection apparatus, and more particularly, to an article inspection apparatus for determining the quality of an inspection target image of a circular portion obtained by photographing a circular portion such as a mouth of a container or a bottle bottom. .
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as an article inspection apparatus, an illumination unit that irradiates light on a circular portion of an article, an imaging unit that captures a circular portion of an article irradiated with light, and an inspection object image of the circular portion captured by the imaging unit. and binarizing means for binarizing the center position calculating unit for calculating the center position of the binarized circular image by binarizing means, the circular image based on the calculated center position by the center position calculation unit An apparatus including an image processing determination unit that performs image processing and determines whether the image is good or bad is known (Patent Document 1).
In the article inspection apparatus of Patent Document 1, the center position calculation unit includes a binarization processing calculation unit that recognizes a circumferential boundary portion of a binarized circular image and calculates the center position of the circular image. It is configured.
Conventionally, as another center position calculation unit for calculating the center position of a circular image, a plurality of inspection areas are set at a predetermined distance and angle from the temporary center position of the circular image, and based on the brightness in each inspection area. It is also known that an edge processing calculation unit that detects the coordinates of each required condition and calculates the center position of a circle that approximates each coordinate and sets the center position to the center position of the circular image is also known. (Patent Document 2).
When the center position calculation unit is constituted by a binarization processing calculation unit as in Patent Document 1, there is an advantage that quick processing can be performed.
On the other hand, for example, when the object to be inspected is the bottom of a glass container, a large difference in brightness due to a manufacturing error may occur in the obtained circular image. A large difference in brightness also occurs when the container is photographed with an inclination with respect to the camera. In the binarization processing calculation unit, if there is a large contrast between the circular images, an error is likely to occur in the setting of the center position of the circular image, and if an error occurs in the center position of the circular image, the subsequent image processing determination unit The risk of making an error in the judgment was high.
On the other hand, if the center position calculation unit is configured from an edge processing calculation unit as in Patent Document 2, the center position can be set with higher accuracy than the binarization processing calculation unit. There is a drawback that it takes a lot of time to set the position.
In view of such circumstances, the present invention provides an article inspection apparatus that can set a center position with high accuracy and can perform processing quickly in a short time.
That is, the present invention binarizes an illuminating unit that irradiates light on a circular portion of an article, an imaging unit that captures a circular portion of the article irradiated with light, and an inspection target image of the circular portion captured by the imaging unit. image processing the circular image based and binarizing means, the center position calculating unit for calculating the center position of the binarized circular image by binarizing means, the central position calculated by the center position calculation unit for In the article inspection apparatus provided with the image processing determination unit that determines the quality,
The center position calculation unit recognizes the brightness difference of the circular image, and recognizes the circumferential boundary portion of the circular image when the brightness difference determination unit determines that the brightness difference is small. And a binarization processing calculation unit for calculating the center position of the circular image, and a predetermined distance and angle from the temporary center position of the circular image when the light / dark difference determination unit determines that the light / dark difference is large. A plurality of inspection areas are set, coordinates are detected based on the brightness in each inspection area, the center position of a circle that approximates each coordinate is calculated, and the center position is set as the center position of the circular image. And an edge processing arithmetic unit.
According to the present invention, when calculating and setting the center position of a circular image, first, the light / dark difference determining unit determines the magnitude of the light / dark difference in the circular image.
When the light / dark difference determining unit determines that the light / dark difference is small, the binarization processing calculating unit can calculate the center position of the circular image at high speed, and the light / dark difference determining unit calculates the light / dark difference. When it is determined that it is large, the center position can be set with high accuracy by the edge processing calculation unit.
Therefore, the center position of a circular image can be obtained with high accuracy even if there is a difference in brightness, and moreover, as a whole, the processing can be performed more quickly compared to the case where the center position is always set by the edge processing calculation unit. Is possible.
The present invention will be described below with reference to the illustrated embodiment. In FIG. 1, a glass container 1 as an article is conveyed from the left to the right in the drawing by a first conveyor 2 in an upright state. . An imaging means 3 for imaging the bottle bottom of the container 1 is provided downstream of the first conveyor 2, and the illumination means 4 irradiates light to the bottle bottom of the container 1 from below. A second conveying means 5 is provided for conveying 1 while floating 1 from the upper surface of the first conveying conveyor 2.
The second transport means 5 includes two belt conveyors 6 (only one is shown in FIG. 1) so that the body of the container 1 can be sandwiched from both sides in the transport direction, and is transported by the first transport conveyor 2. The container 1 that has been supplied is supplied and sandwiched between the two belt conveyors 6 while maintaining an upright state, and is subsequently nipped and conveyed by the belt conveyor 6.
When the container 1 transported by the belt conveyor 6 passes through a position immediately below the photographing means 3, this is detected by a sensor (not shown), whereby the photographing means 3 causes the container 1 to pass through the inside of the container 1. The bottom of 1 bottle is photographed. At this time, since light is irradiated on the bottom surface of the container 1 by the illumination unit 4, a circular inspection object image can be obtained in the captured image S captured by the imaging unit 3.
The containers 1 that have been photographed are transferred to a third transport conveyor 7 provided at the tip of the two belt conveyors 6 and are transported in an upright state by the third transport conveyor 7.
The inspection target image of the circular part imaged by the imaging unit 3 is input to the binarizing unit 12 of the control device 11 and binarized by the binarizing unit 12 to, for example, 256-level brightness.
The circular image binarized by the binarizing means 12 is then input to the center position calculation unit 13 for calculating the center position of the circular image.
As shown in FIG. 2, the center position calculation unit 13 includes a light / dark
When the bottom of the bottle is photographed through the inside of the glass container 1, in an example of an ideal state, as shown in FIG. 3, the circular image 15 has a ring shape continuous in the circumferential direction, and the brightness of the portion is the circumference. It is almost uniform in direction and darker than the brightness of other parts.
However, the circular image 15 has a large brightness difference in the circumferential direction due to the manufacturing error of the container 1, the inclination of the container 1 when it is nipped and conveyed by the belt conveyor 6, or the ring-shaped width ( The thickness may be offset.
The brightness
At this time, when the difference in brightness is large, the area of the bright part or the area of the dark part becomes larger than usual. For example, the area of the bright part or the dark part is about 20 pixels in the case of a normal image with a small light / dark difference, but is about 10,000 pixels in the case of an abnormal image with a large light / dark difference.
In the case of a normal circular image 15 in which the light / dark
As the binarization
Thereafter, when the binarization
On the other hand, in the case of an abnormal circular image 15 in which the light / dark
If the light / dark difference is reduced by the
On the other hand, when it is determined that the difference in brightness is large even if the filter processing is performed, the circular image 15 is input to the edge
As shown in FIG. 3, the edge
As a simple coordinate detection method, the circular image 15 is inspected from the center position O ′ side to the outside on the radius passing through the center of the
After the above operation is executed for each
The method of obtaining the center position O of the circular image 15 by the edge
When the center position O of the circular image 15 is obtained by the edge
As described above, in this embodiment, when the brightness difference of the circular image 15 obtained is determined to be small by the light / dark
