Claims (12)
- 電極アレイに結合された埋込可能な神経変調器をプログラムするための外部制御デバイスであって、
変調パラメータに対する第1の限界を有する閾値以上プログラミングモードと該第1の限界とは異なる該変調パラメータに対する第2の限界を有する閾値以下プログラミングモードとをユーザが選択することを可能にするように構成されたプログラミング選択制御要素を含むユーザインタフェースと、
前記閾値以上プログラミングモードで前記神経変調器のプログラミング中に一連の変調パラメータセットを定めるように、かつ該神経変調器に命令して、得られる電界の中心を前記電極アレイに対して変位させる方式で該一連の変調パラメータセットに従って該電極アレイに電気エネルギを伝達するように構成されたコントローラ/プロセッサ回路と、
を含み、
前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路はまた、前記一連の変調パラメータのうちの1つを患者の生理学的正中線上に配置された中心を有する電界を生成するとして自動的に識別するように構成される、
ことを特徴とする外部制御デバイス。 - 前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路は、前記プログラミング選択制御要素の起動に応答して、前記一連の変調パラメータセットのうちの前記識別された変調パラメータセットから別の変調パラメータセットを導出するように、かつ前記神経変調器に命令して前記閾値以下プログラミングモードでのデバイスに対する神経変調の前記プログラミング中に前記別の変調パラメータセットに従って前記電極アレイに電気エネルギを伝達するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路は、前記別の変調パラメータセットに従った前記電極アレイへの前記電気エネルギの伝達から生じる電界が、前記識別された変調パラメータセットに従った前記電極アレイへの前記電気エネルギの伝達から生じる前記電界の前記中心と同じ中心を有する方式で、前記別の変調パラメータセットを導出するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記変調パラメータは、パルス速度であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記第1の限界は、1500Hz未満の上限値であり、前記第2の限界は、1500Hzよりも高い下限値であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記変調パラメータは、パルス幅であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記第1の限界は、100μsよりも長い下限値であり、前記第2の限界は、100μs未満の上限値であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記閾値以下プログラミングモードは、半自動プログラミングモードであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路は、前記閾値以上プログラミングモードで前記神経変調器をプログラムする時に前記電極アレイに対する仮想多極を自動的に定めるように、かつ該仮想多極を模倣する該電極アレイのための変調パラメータを計算するように構成され、
第1の変調パラメータセットが、前記計算された変調パラメータを含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の外部制御デバイス。 - 前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路はまた、前記電極アレイを横切って横方向に前記仮想多極をパニングするように構成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- データ転送回路を更に含み、
前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路は、前記データ転送回路を通じて前記神経変調器をプログラムするように構成される、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。 - 前記ユーザインタフェースと前記コントローラ/プロセッサ回路とを収容するハウジングを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。
