Description
本実施形態に係るシリンダヘッド1は、二次空気供給通路(排気系での未燃ガスの燃焼による排気浄化や触媒の早期昇温を目的とした二次空気を供給するための通路)5が一体形成されている。以下、この二次空気供給通路5について説明する。
次に、変形例について説明する。本変形例は二次空気供給通路5の構成が前記実施形態のものと異なっている。ここでは、前記実施形態との相違点について主に説明する。
以上説明した実施形態および変形例は、排気ポート4A〜4Dが二組に分かれて集合した後に、締結座面11bにおいて上下に離間して開口した構成としていた。つまり、ポート集合部として下側ポート集合部41と上側ポート集合部42との2つのポート集合部を備えたシリンダヘッド1に本発明を適用した場合について説明した。本発明はこれに限らず、全ての排気ポートを集合させる1つのポート集合部を備えたシリンダヘッドや、3つ以上のポート集合部を備えたシリンダヘッドに対しても適用が可能である。

Claims (3)
- 多気筒内燃機関の各気筒それぞれに個別に連通する複数の排気ポートを備え、互いに異なる気筒にそれぞれ連通している排気ポート同士が排気流れ方向下流側部分で集合されて成るポート集合部が一体形成されていると共に、このポート集合部がヘッド外壁面に開放されて成るシリンダヘッドにおいて、
当該シリンダヘッドの内部には、排気系に二次空気を供給するための二次空気供給通路が形成されており、
前記二次空気供給通路は、前記内燃機関の設置状態において、この内燃機関の燃焼室よりも上方に位置し且つ気筒列方向に沿って延びるメイン通路と、このメイン通路と前記各排気ポートそれぞれとを個別に連通させる複数の分岐通路とを備えており、
前記各分岐通路は、前記内燃機関の設置状態において、前記メイン通路から前記排気ポートに向かって下方に傾斜していることを特徴とするシリンダヘッド。 - 請求項1記載のシリンダヘッドにおいて、
前記メイン通路の中心線は、前記各分岐通路におけるそれぞれの分岐通路中心線よりも上方に位置していることを特徴とするシリンダヘッド。 - 請求項1または2記載のシリンダヘッドにおいて、
前記ポート集合部は、前記各排気ポートのうちの一部の複数の排気ポートの排気流れ方向下流側部分を集合させる第1ポート集合部と、その他の複数の排気ポートの排気流れ方向下流側部分を集合させる第2ポート集合部とを備えており、
前記各排気ポートのうち、前記第1ポート集合部よりも排気流れ方向上流側の前記複数の排気ポートのみが、前記分岐通路によって前記メイン通路に連通されていることを特徴とするシリンダヘッド。
