Description
The present invention relates to a structure of a link plate constituting a power transmission chain made of fiber reinforced plastic.
Existing power transmission chains include those made of metal and plastic, a combination of metal and plastic, and fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) using short fibers. Metal chains are strong but heavy, rusted, stretched, limited in driving speed, loud during driving, and require lubricating oil. On the other hand, the resin chain has characteristics that the strength is lower than that of the metal chain, but it is light, does not rust, has a low sound during driving, and does not require lubricating oil. In addition, although FRP made of short fibers has higher strength and wear resistance than those made of plastic, the short fibers are only entangled with each other with no directivity, so that the strength of the fibers themselves cannot be utilized. These chains are complementary to each other's weaknesses, but do not take advantage of each other's strengths. As an advantage made of metal, high strength can be obtained. Plastic is not as strong as metal, but it is light, does not rust, does not require lubrication for sliding, and has low drive noise. If high strength properties are given to the plastic chain, it will become an unprecedented ideal chain with the full length of metal and plastic. An object of the present invention is to obtain this chain. Metal and plastic products are excellent in mass production, and the selling price can be relatively low. The ideal chain must also be priced. Since the price level greatly depends on the number of manufacturing processes, it is also a big challenge to reduce the number of manufacturing processes and, as a result, to obtain a reasonable price acceptable to the user.
In practical use, a power transmission chain that is strong, light, does not rust, does not stretch, can be driven at high speed, has high wear resistance, is quiet, and does not require lubricating oil is desired.
FRP is light and strong, so it can be driven at high speed, does not rust, does not stretch because of the high rigidity of the fiber, and has a low impact sound with objects. If FRP can create a chain, an ideal chain can be obtained.
As can be seen in the following prior art documents, methods for producing FRP chain link plates have been studied so far. Patent Document 1 is a so-called filament winding method in which thin fibers are wound to a required shape and adhesively fixed with a resin.
The problem is to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art documents.
The problem is that, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 of Patent Document 1, long fibers are wound around two holes (shafts) several times, and the wound long fibers are solidified with a resin, so to speak, as a core part. This can be overcome by winding a fiber in a tensioned state around the core to produce a link plate shape. The tension applied to the link plate is handled by the long fibers wound around the core. On the other hand, since the core part is also made of FRP, it is more resistant to the load that tries to deform its shape than the process according to the
The chain of the present invention is lightweight, high-strength, does not stretch, does not rust, does not require lubrication for sliding, can be driven at high speed, has high wear resistance, and has a quiet sound when driven. Can be substituted. In particular, in a large power transmission device, reducing the weight of the chain greatly improves the transmission efficiency of the device.
One or more FRP sheets are wound around two pipes or rods to produce the core, the FRP sheet is wound around the outer circumference of the core to produce the rod, and the rod is cut to the required thickness to produce FRP. Manufacture link plates. Alternatively, a link plate having a required thickness can be formed by fiber winding (filament winding).

FIG. 3 shows the link plate rod obtained by winding the
FIG. 4 is a link plate obtained by slicing the link plate rod obtained in FIG. 3 to a required thickness perpendicular to the pipe axis.
FIG. 5 shows an example in which the gap between the core portion and the outer peripheral portion of FIG. 4 is filled with resin or FRP.
In order to construct a chain using the obtained link plate, it is necessary to connect the two link plates with pins or the like as shown in FIG. 1 so that the link plates do not separate from the pins. In the metal chain, detachment is prevented by caulking or the like of the pin. However, when a composite pin or the like is used, it can be fastened by bonding or by heat-deforming the pin end. FIG. 6 is an image of an all-composite hollow pin chain constructed in FIGS. 4 and 5. 4 and FIG. 5 can also constitute a chain.
