Description
The present invention relates to a power conversion device, and more particularly, to a power conversion device that converts an AC voltage into a DC voltage and supplies it to a load and a battery connected in parallel.
Conventionally, an uninterruptible power supply has a converter that converts commercial AC power into DC power, an inverter that converts DC power into AC power and supplies the load, and a normal time when the commercial AC power is normally supplied. A bidirectional chopper is provided that supplies the DC power generated by the converter to the battery, and supplies the DC power of the battery to the inverter during a power failure when the supply of commercial AC power is stopped. The converter always outputs a constant DC voltage. When the battery is charged, the bidirectional chopper supplies a constant charging current to the battery, and supplies the current so that the voltage between the terminals of the battery becomes constant after the charging of the battery is completed.
There is also an AC / DC (AC / DC) converter that converts commercial AC voltage into DC voltage and supplies it to a load and a battery connected in parallel. This AC / DC converter supplies a constant current when charging a battery, and supplies a constant voltage after the end of charging (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, in the conventional uninterruptible power supply, since the switching element of the bidirectional chopper is always turned on / off, the switching loss of the switching element and the iron loss of the reactor are always generated, and there is a problem that the efficiency is low.
Therefore, a main object of the present invention is to provide a highly efficient power converter.
A power conversion device according to the present invention includes a converter that converts an AC voltage into a DC voltage, a step-down chopper that steps down the DC voltage and applies it to a load and a battery connected in parallel, and a control circuit that controls the converter and the step-down chopper. It is provided. The step-down chopper includes a switching element and a reactor connected in series between the converter, a load, and a battery, and a free wheel diode. The control circuit constantly controls the converter so that the DC voltage becomes a predetermined float voltage. When the output voltage of the step-down chopper is lower than the float voltage, the switching element is turned on / off to charge the battery to a certain level. While the current is flowing, the output voltage of the step-down chopper is raised, and after the output voltage of the step-down chopper reaches the float voltage, the switching element is always turned on.
Another power converter according to the present invention controls a converter that converts an AC voltage into a DC voltage, a step-down chopper that steps down the DC voltage and applies it to a load and a battery connected in parallel, and controls the converter and the step-down chopper. And a control circuit. The step-down chopper includes a switching element and a reactor connected in series between the converter, a load, and a battery, and a free wheel diode. When the output voltage of the step-down chopper is lower than the maximum value of the AC voltage, the control circuit controls the converter so that the DC voltage becomes the maximum value of the AC voltage, and turns on / off the switching element to keep the battery constant. The output voltage of the step-down chopper is raised while flowing the charging current. In addition, when the output voltage of the step-down chopper is higher than the maximum value of the AC voltage, the control circuit always turns on the switching element and controls the converter to flow a constant charging current to the battery while outputting the constant voltage. To a predetermined float voltage.
In the power conversion device according to the present invention, the output voltage of the converter is set to a predetermined float voltage, the switching element of the step-down chopper is turned on / off, and a constant charging current is supplied to the battery, and the output voltage of the step-down chopper is the float voltage. After reaching, the switching element is always turned on. Therefore, the power loss of the step-down chopper can be reduced, and the efficiency can be increased.
In another power converter according to the present invention, when the output voltage of the step-down chopper is lower than the maximum value of the AC voltage, the converter output voltage is set to the maximum value of the AC voltage and the switching element is turned on / off. Turn off and let a constant charging current flow through the battery. In addition, after the output voltage of the step-down chopper reaches the maximum value of the AC voltage, the switching element is always turned on, and the converter is controlled so that a constant charging current is supplied to the battery, and the output voltage of the step-down chopper reaches the float voltage. Raise. Therefore, the power loss of the step-down chopper can be reduced, and the efficiency can be increased.
[Embodiment 1]
1 is a circuit block diagram showing a configuration of an AC / DC converter according to
The input terminal T <b> 1 receives commercial power AC power from the commercial
More specifically,
The step-down
The
The control circuit 8 always controls the
The control circuit 8 controls the step-down
FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram showing a main part of the AC / DC converter. In FIG. 2, a commercial
Input filter F1 includes capacitors C1 to C3 and reactors L1 to L3. One electrodes of the capacitors C1 to C3 are connected to the input terminals T1a to T1c, respectively, and the other electrodes are connected to each other. Reactors L1 to L3 have one terminals connected to input terminals T1a to T1c, respectively, and the other terminals connected to
The input filter F <b> 1 is a low-pass filter that allows the three-phase AC power from the commercial
The three-phase AC voltage from the commercial
Each of IGBTs Q <b> 1 to Q <b> 6 is on / off controlled by control circuit 8. By turning on / off each of the IGBTs Q1 to Q6 at a predetermined timing, the three-phase AC power supplied from the commercial
Step-down
The IGBT Q7 is turned on / off by the control circuit 8 at a predetermined cycle. When IGBT Q7 is turned on, current flows from DC positive bus PL to DC negative bus NL via IGBT Q7, reactor L4, and capacitor C4, capacitor C4 is charged, and electromagnetic energy is stored in reactor L4. When IGBT Q7 is turned off, current flows through a path from one terminal of reactor L4 to the other terminal of reactor L4 via capacitor C4 and freewheeling diode D8, capacitor C4 is charged, and electromagnetic energy of reactor L4 is released. .
By adjusting the ON time (duty ratio) of the IGBT Q7 per cycle, it is possible to adjust the voltage V2 between terminals of the capacitor C4. The output voltage V2 of the step-down
Next, the operation of this AC / DC converter will be described. In the initial state, it is assumed that the voltage between the terminals of the
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing a method for controlling the step-down
In step S3, since the charging of the
When IGBT Q7 is always turned on, output voltage V1 = Vf of

In step S14, the control circuit 8 determines whether or not V2 <Vf. If V2 <Vf, the process proceeds to step S15, and if V2 <Vf, the process proceeds to step S16. In step S15, since the IGBT Q7 of the step-down
Further, in step S11 of FIG. 5, the control circuit 8 detects V2 and Em, and determines whether or not V2 <Em in step S12. If V2 <Em, the process proceeds to step S21, and if V2 <Em is not satisfied. Proceed to step S22. In step S21, since the charge level of the
