Description
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for treating nitric acid-containing wastewater generated in steelworks.
Nitrogen components contained in wastewater are required to be treated so as to be less than the amount regulated by local government regulations, etc. in order to cause eutrophication of the discharge basin and worsen the surrounding environment.
In the steelworks, the washing water used in the pickling process of stainless steel or the like contains nitric acid, and such nitric acid-containing wastewater contains a nitrogen component, and therefore needs to be treated.
Conventionally, as treatment methods for nitric acid-containing wastewater, physicochemical methods such as ion exchange and adsorption, and biological denitrification methods using activated sludge have been used. Processing is mainly used.
Biological treatment of nitric acid-containing wastewater is usually conducted by removing harmful elements (such as Cr) whose emissions are regulated by a coagulation sedimentation method, etc., and then guided to a denitrification tank, where nitric acid is biologically biological under anaerobic conditions. Reduction to nitrogen gas results in removal of the nitrogen source. At this time, since an organic carbon source necessary for denitrification tends to be insufficient, an organic carbon source (hydrogen donor) such as methanol is generally added from outside the system.
The waste water from which the nitrogen content has been almost removed by the denitrification reaction is then aerated and subsequently subjected to microbial treatment under aerobic conditions. Here, residual COD components such as untreated organic carbon sources are removed by decomposing them into carbon dioxide gas and water. Then, solid-liquid separation into sludge and supernatant water is performed in the final sedimentation basin, and the supernatant water is discharged as treated water.
In actual equipment for biological denitrification treatment of nitric acid-containing wastewater generated in the stainless steel pickling process at steelworks, the nitrogen load including the amount of wastewater varies greatly depending on the operating conditions of the factory. In the worst case, sludge is discharged in a mixed manner with waste water.
In biological treatment of wastewater, the failure of solid-liquid separation in the final sedimentation basin is a failure with a relatively high probability of occurrence, and generally a flocculant or the like is added. For example,
Patent Document 2 discloses a method for treating organic wastewater in which organic wastewater is biologically treated using incineration ash obtained by incineration of organic waste.
Furthermore, Patent Document 3 discloses a method in which a desulfurization agent mainly composed of iron oxide after being used for the desulfurization treatment is brought into contact with the inflow liquid of the aeration tank and / or the liquid in the aeration tank.
By the way, in order to treat a large amount of heavy metals represented by iron at ironworks, a large amount of cooling water, surface treated water, and the like are generated, and these wastewater contains dissolved iron and the like. Such heavy metal-containing wastewater containing dissolved iron or the like is required to sufficiently remove the dissolved heavy metal and discharge it.
As a method for treating heavy metal-containing wastewater, for example, Patent Document 5 includes a process of “introducing raw water containing dissolved heavy metal into an oxidation tank, adding an alkaline agent, and adjusting the pH of the raw water to 6.5 to 8.3. The process of oxidizing the pH-adjusted raw water, the oxidized treatment liquid is sent to a coagulation tank, the alkali agent and the coagulant are added to adjust the pH of the treatment liquid to 8.4 or higher, and heavy metal oxide A method of treating wastewater containing dissolved heavy metals, comprising a step of agglomerating, a step of sending a coagulation treatment liquid to a precipitation tank, precipitating heavy metal oxides, discharging the supernatant liquid, and a step of extracting the heavy metal sludge generated in the precipitation tanks Is disclosed.
However, the method of adding the flocculant disclosed in
The methods disclosed in Patent Documents 2 and 3 are effective if incineration ash and desulfurization agent are present in the vicinity, but in general, such a situation is rare, and incineration ash and desulfurization agent are long. If distance transportation is carried out, transportation cost will increase and it will become a factor which presses processing cost.
Further, when the method of
Moreover, in the processing method of the heavy metal containing waste water disclosed by patent document 5, after aggregating a heavy metal oxide, a coagulation process liquid is sent to a settling tank, a heavy metal oxide is settled, and it is supposed that a supernatant liquid is discharged.
However, depending on the region, the supernatant liquid may not be discharged as it is, and in that case, further biological treatment may be required.

A method for treating nitric acid-containing wastewater using the nitric acid-containing
The method for treating nitric acid-containing wastewater according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a denitrification treatment step in which nitric acid-containing wastewater is biologically denitrified with activated sludge, and an organic substance remaining without being used in the denitrification treatment step. A denitrification treatment step comprising: an organic matter decomposition step in which (COD component) is biologically oxidatively decomposed with activated sludge to convert it into CO 2 and water; The method includes a step of adding an iron-containing wastewater for adding an iron-containing wastewater containing iron generated at a steelworks.
Each step will be described below.
<Denitrification process>
The denitrification process is a process in which the nitric acid-containing wastewater is biologically denitrified with activated sludge in the denitrification tank 7.

Further, the denitrification treatment is performed, and the iron-containing wastewater fed from the iron-containing wastewater storage tank 5 is added to the denitrification tank 7 (iron-containing wastewater addition step).
Here, the iron-containing wastewater addition process will be described.
≪Iron-containing wastewater addition process≫
The iron-containing wastewater addition step is a step of adding a predetermined amount of iron-containing wastewater to the denitrification tank 7.
The iron-containing wastewater used in the present embodiment was obtained by neutralizing wastewater containing a large amount of iron discharged from a steel mill and oxidizing the iron content by aeration or the like. As described above, iron remains in the iron-containing wastewater.
By adding the iron-containing wastewater in this step, the iron content in the iron-containing wastewater is taken into the floc forming the activated sludge, and the weight of the floc can be increased. Therefore, the sedimentation property of the floc is improved in the solid-liquid separation process which is a subsequent process.
In addition, any wastewater containing iron can be used as long as it does not contain any biological activity-inhibiting substances or environmentally restricted substances. It is desirable that the iron-containing wastewater is analyzed in advance or laboratory-tested using activated sludge to grasp its properties.
(Mixed liquor volatile
suspended solid)である。
1-MLVSS/MLSS
MLVSS/MLSS
The addition amount of the iron-containing wastewater, that is, the addition amount of iron is determined based on the ratio of inorganic substances in the sludge. Here, the ratio of the inorganic substance in sludge is represented by
suspended solid).
1-MLVSS / MLSS (1)
MLVSS / MLSS is the ratio of organic substances in the sludge. As shown in
The amount of iron added should be about 10% higher than the amount of minerals in the sludge when no iron-containing wastewater is added. Specific numerical values vary depending on the apparatus configuration and operating conditions, but are about 0.5 to 50 g, preferably about 5 to 40 g, more preferably about 10 to 30 g per 1 m 3 of nitric acid-containing wastewater. If the amount added is too small, the effect of improving sludge settling will not be seen, but excessive addition will cause an increase in MLSS and blockage of pipelines due to an excessive increase in minerals, i.e., iron, in the sludge and increase in specific gravity. This is not preferable because it invites.
In addition, it is desirable that the iron-containing wastewater to be added has a BOD component. This is because the amount of methanol given as a nutrient source to the activated sludge can be reduced by using such iron-containing wastewater.
<Organic substance decomposition process>
The organic matter decomposition step is a step performed in the
If organic matter remains in the waste water, denitrification reaction occurs by activated sludge using the organic matter as a nutrient source in the next solid-liquid separation step. Since the denitrification reaction involves the generation of N 2 and CO 2 gases, the flocs float due to these generated gases, and the sedimentation properties deteriorate. Therefore, the remaining organic matter is decomposed in this organic matter decomposition step.
In the organic matter decomposition step, the waste water supplied from the denitrification tank 7 is stored in the
<Solid-liquid separation process>
The solid-liquid separation step is a step performed in the
As described above, the floc is incorporated with iron and increases in weight, and has good sedimentation.
Part of the sludge is pulled out and returned to the denitrification tank 7 through the
As described above, in the present embodiment, a part of iron contained in the iron-containing wastewater is accumulated in the activated sludge, and the biological denitrification activity is kept at a high level in the treatment of the nitrate-containing wastewater. In addition, the sedimentation property (solid-liquid separation property) of sludge can be improved efficiently and at a low cost, and further, iron-containing wastewater can be treated.
Further, in the present embodiment, iron-containing wastewater (iron content) is added as a pretreatment for improving the solid-liquid separability, and it is confirmed that the solid-liquid separability is deteriorated as in
Further, as described above, the iron-containing wastewater is neutralized, oxidized, etc. by the iron wastewater treatment device, but further biological treatment may be required. According to this embodiment, Since the biological treatment can be performed in the treatment process of the nitric acid-containing wastewater treatment, it is not necessary to separately carry out the biological treatment of the iron-containing wastewater, and extremely efficient wastewater treatment can be performed.
In the above embodiment, an example in which iron-containing wastewater is added to the denitrification tank 7 has been shown, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the iron-containing wastewater may be added to the
The effect by the processing method of nitric acid content drainage of the present invention is explained based on a concrete example.
In this example, an experiment was conducted to confirm the effect of the method for treating nitric acid-containing wastewater. In the experiment, an experimental apparatus corresponding to the nitric acid-containing
In the experimental apparatus, the capacity of each tank was a denitrification tank 5L, an aeration tank 3L, and a precipitation tank 7L. The pH of the iron-containing wastewater was not adjusted in the iron-containing wastewater tank, but in the denitrification tank and the aeration tank after the addition. Sludge was collected from an actual nitric acid treatment facility. Methanol was added separately as a nutrient source for microorganisms for denitrification.
Table 1 shows the properties of the wastewater containing nitric acid to be treated.
As shown in Table 1, almost all of the TN (total nitrogen) in the nitric acid-containing wastewater was nitrate nitrogen (NO 3 -N). In addition, the nitric acid-containing wastewater contained Ca, Mg, Al, etc. as trace elements.
For iron-containing wastewater, two types of iron-containing wastewater generated from steelworks were prepared. Table 2 shows the properties of these iron-containing wastewaters.
As shown in Table 2, the iron-containing wastewater A contained 280 mg / L (280 g / m 3 ) of iron and had a pH of 5.5. The iron-containing wastewater B contained 1230 mg / L (1230 g / m 3 ) of iron, and the pH was 0.8 indicating strong acidity. Only the iron-containing wastewater A contained 2500 mg / L of organic matter (BOD component).
An experimental method performed using the above experimental apparatus will be described.
The experiment method is to feed nitric acid-containing wastewater at a rate of 10L / day to perform denitrification treatment of nitric acid, change the type and amount of iron-containing wastewater to be added, and perform 6 patterns, and settling of sludge for each pattern (SVI: Sludge Volume Index), denitrification characteristics (nitrogen removal rate), and ratio of organic substances in sludge (MLVSS / MLSS). The evaluation was performed for a sufficient time (approximately two weeks) in each pattern, and after reaching a steady state, the treatment was further performed for approximately two weeks, and was performed based on the average value at this time.
Prior to the experiment, only the nitric acid-containing wastewater was treated for about one month with an experimental device, and the experiment was conducted after confirming that the activated sludge reached a steady state.
The type of iron-containing wastewater to be added and the amount added (experimental conditions) will be described based on Table 3.
Table 3 shows experimental conditions and experimental results for each pattern.
The experimental condition column shows, from the left side, the type of iron-containing wastewater used and the amount of iron added. The experimental conditions for each pattern will be described in order from
In
Similarly, 7 mg-Fe / L nitric acid wastewater iron-containing waste water A as a pattern 2 (7g-Fe / m 3 nitric drainage), the iron-containing waste water A 22 mg-Fe / L nitric acid waste water as a pattern 3 (22g-Fe / m 3 nitric drainage), the iron-containing waste water a 250 mg-Fe / L nitric acid waste water as a pattern 4 (250g-Fe / m 3 nitric drainage), the iron-containing waste water a as a pattern 5 500mg-Fe / L nitric acid waste water (500 g-Fe / m 3 nitric acid waste water), iron containing waste water B as pattern 6 was added 22 mg-Fe / L nitric acid waste water (22 g-Fe / m 3 nitric acid waste water).
Moreover, what performed the process without adding iron-containing waste water as a comparative example is shown in the top line of Table 3.
The experimental results will be described based on the experimental result column in Table 3. From the left, the experiment results column shows the sedimentation rate of sludge (SVI), sludge sedimentation judgment result, nitric acid removal rate, nitric acid removal rate judgment result, ratio of organic matter in sludge (MLVSS / MLSS), The judgment result of organic substance ratio and remarks are shown. In addition, each determination result is described with a circle mark, a triangle mark, and a cross mark so that the experimental result can be easily visually identified.
In
In Pattern 2, where the amount of iron added was increased compared to
In
In view of the above, in order to improve sedimentation, the wastewater containing iron should be reduced so that the organic sludge ratio (MLVSS / MLSS) is 0.78 or less in Pattern 2 where sludge sedimentation was improved. It is desirable to add.
However, in Pattern 5 where the amount of iron added was further increased, SVI showing sedimentation showed 23 mL / g-MLSS, and although the sedimentation was greatly improved, the ratio of organic matter in the sludge (MLVSS at this time) / MLSS) has fallen significantly to 0.38, and the inorganic (Fe) ratio has increased too much. At this time, the sludge became too heavy, causing blockage of the pipes and the like, and the experiment had to be interrupted.
Therefore, it is desirable to prevent the pipelines from being blocked or to maintain the organic matter ratio (MLVSS / MLSS) of the activated sludge at 0.4 or more, preferably 0.50 or more.
Moreover, as shown in the pattern 6, when the iron content waste water B which is a strong acid waste water was added, the improvement of the sludge sedimentation property was seen.
However, although the amount of iron added was the same as pattern 3 (22 mg-Fe / L nitric acid drainage), the improvement in sedimentation was small. In addition, the nitric acid removal rate dropped to 60%, and it was dismantling when observing floc. This is probably because the iron-containing wastewater B is strongly acidic (pH 0.8), and the sludge was damaged after the addition until the pH was adjusted in the denitrification tank 7 or the like.
Accordingly, it is desirable to use iron-containing wastewater having a pH that does not adversely affect living organisms, or to adjust the pH of the iron-containing wastewater in the iron-containing wastewater tank so that the pH becomes pH 2 to pH12 in the iron-containing wastewater tank.
Moreover, in the patterns 1-5 which added the iron-containing waste_water | drain A, although nitric acid removal rate is slight, it has improved. As described above, this was thought to be because the iron-containing wastewater A contained organic substances and increased the nutrient source of microorganisms.
Then, the experiment which reduced the addition amount of methanol similarly to the experiment condition of the pattern 2 performed the kind of iron-containing wastewater, and its addition amount separately. As a result, the nitric acid removal rate did not decrease. As a result, it was confirmed that the organic matter in the iron-containing wastewater A added was consumed as a nutrient source for microorganisms. Therefore, it was demonstrated that the amount of methanol added can be reduced by adding the iron-containing wastewater A containing organic matter.
Therefore, it is desirable that the iron-containing wastewater to be added has a BOD component.
As described above, in this example, since a part of iron contained in the iron-containing wastewater is accumulated in the activated sludge, the biological denitrification activity was kept at a high level in the treatment of the nitric acid-containing wastewater. As a result, sludge sedimentation was able to be improved efficiently at low cost, and iron-containing wastewater could be treated.
