Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing an electrode sheet used for, for example, a laminate-type thin secondary battery, and a coating apparatus used therefor.
For example, as a thin lithium ion secondary battery using a laminate film outer package, a battery in which an electrode laminate in which a plurality of pairs of positive electrode sheets and negative electrode sheets are laminated together with a separator is stored inside the laminate film outer package is known. Each of the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet is a current collector made of aluminum or other metal foil, and the positive electrode sheet is left on the current collector while leaving a current collector exposed portion serving as a lead portion. For the negative electrode sheet, the negative electrode active material layer is formed on the current collector.
In this case, although it is not a thin secondary battery using a laminate film outer package, for example, in
However, the use of insulating tape not only increases the cost, but it also increases the speed of the production line in order to attach the insulating tape accurately to the boundary between the narrow current collector and the active material layer. However, there is still a limit, and there is still room for improvement in terms of productivity improvement.
This invention is made paying attention to such a subject, and provides the manufacturing method which aimed at cost reduction and productivity improvement, and the coating apparatus used for it at the time of manufacture of an electrode sheet.
The present invention provides an electrode sheet having a current collector body portion having an active material layer formed on the surface, and a current collector lead portion connected on one side of the current collector body portion and narrower than the one side portion. It is a manufacturing method. Then, the active material slurry is intermittently applied along the longitudinal direction of the long current collector sheet, and the insulating material slurry is partially applied in the width direction of the current collector sheet so as to be in contact with the active material slurry. A coating step for drying, a drying step for drying the active material slurry and the insulating material slurry applied to the current collector sheet to form an active material layer and an insulating material layer, and a current collector sheet after slurry drying By cutting along the respective cutting lines along the longitudinal direction and the width direction of the current collector sheet, an incomplete current collector lead portion having the same width as the active material layer is attached so that the electrode current collector is exposed. And a plurality of electrode sheet pieces in which an insulating material layer narrower than the imperfect current collector lead portion is formed at the boundary between the active material layer and the imperfect current collector lead portion. Cutting step and the above electrode sheet piece Some of the complete works collector lead section was cut to substantially the width of the insulating material layer, is intended to include, a finishing step of finishing the electrode sheet in which the current collector lead section is attached.
In addition, the present invention includes a current collector main body having an active material layer formed on a surface thereof, and a current collector lead connected to one side of the current collector main body and narrower than the one side. A method for producing an electrode sheet, wherein an active material slurry is intermittently applied along the longitudinal direction of a long current collector sheet, and intermittently applied in the longitudinal direction of the current collector sheet so as to be in contact with the active material slurry A coating step of applying an insulating material slurry, a drying step of drying the active material slurry and the insulating material slurry applied to the current collector sheet to form an active material layer and an insulating material layer, and after slurry drying By cutting the current collector sheet at each cutting line along the width direction of the current collector sheet, the incomplete current collector lead having the same width as the active material layer is exposed in such a manner that the electrode current collector is exposed. The active material layer and the incomplete current collector lead Cutting step of forming a plurality of electrode sheet pieces in which an insulating material layer narrower than the incomplete current collector lead part is formed at the boundary with the part, and incomplete of the electrode sheet pieces And a finishing step of cutting a part of the current collector lead part substantially in accordance with the width dimension of the insulating material layer to finish the electrode sheet attached to the current collector lead part.
The long current collector sheet is drawn from the sheet roll on which the current collector sheet is wound several times. Further, in the coating process, the current collector sheet drawn from the sheet roll is coated with the current collector sheet. In order to improve productivity, it is desirable to apply the insulator slurry and the active material slurry to the current collector sheet with a common coating head by relatively moving the coating head of the apparatus.
In addition, the coating device used in the coating process is a coating head that is arranged in close proximity to the current collector sheet and individually pumps the insulating material slurry and the active material slurry from the independent slurry material supply sources. The coating head may be provided with an insulating slurry discharge port and an active material slurry discharge port which are independent of each other.
In order to stably supply the active material, a chamber part is formed in the supply path of the active material slurry having a larger discharge amount than the insulating material slurry in the coating head, and an air vent hole is formed in the chamber part. It is desirable that
According to the present invention, since the insulating material layer is formed by applying and drying an insulating material slurry instead of the insulating tape, the cost can be reduced and the production line can be increased in speed. Improves.
Also, by applying the insulating material slurry together with the active material slurry and drying both slurries substantially simultaneously, the drying process of the insulating material slurry alone can be eliminated, and the manufacturing process is simplified and the manufacturing cost is further increased. Reduction can be achieved.
Furthermore, since a part of the incomplete current collector lead portion is cut substantially in accordance with the width dimension of the insulating material layer, there is no waste of the insulating material, which can also reduce the cost.
1 to 9 show a more specific form for carrying out the method for producing an electrode sheet for a secondary battery according to the present invention. Here, as shown in FIG. An electrode that is a secondary battery (hereinafter simply referred to as a secondary battery) 1 and is arranged so that a pair of current
1A is a plan view of the
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the
The
In the example of FIG. 1, a part of each of the current
FIG. 3 shows a state of the
The positive electrode
Such a structure is basically the same for the
FIG. 4 schematically shows, for example, the outline of the whole manufacturing process of the
The long foil-shaped
The
Here, as the
And in the
FIG. 5 shows the details of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the
FIG. 6 shows details of the
As shown in FIG. 6, the upper
Further, the lower
As shown in FIG. 7A, the uppermost
Then, as described above, the first to third die
Since the active material slurry needs to be stably discharged with higher accuracy than the insulating material slurry, it is necessary to secure a large capacity of the corresponding chamber portion. Therefore, when two types of slurry, that is, an active material slurry and an insulating material slurry are discharged almost simultaneously by a
Therefore, in the
FIG. 8 shows the details of the coating process by the
The traveling direction of the
As shown in FIGS. 8A to 8F, in the process in which the long
In this case, the
The
In addition, although FIG. 8 shows an example of a single continuous coating on the
FIG. 9 shows the details of the cutting process in the
In addition to (a) and (b) of FIG. 9 and as shown in FIG. 10, the
On the other hand, a plurality of straight blade type cutters (not shown) are prepared in the
Here, as shown in FIG. 9D, each strip-shaped
As is clear from the above description, the operation in the
As described above, according to the present embodiment, instead of the insulating tape, the insulating
The electrode sheet manufacturing method of the present embodiment can be applied to the manufacture of an electrode sheet having the
In the above embodiment, as shown in FIG. 9, the insulating
FIGS. 11 and 12 show a second embodiment of the manufacturing method according to the present invention based on the manufacturing process substantially similar to FIG.
In FIG. 11, reference sign Q1 indicates the traveling direction of the long
Here, the coating of the
When two insulating materials are arranged in the width direction as shown in FIG. 8, two
Subsequently, as shown in FIGS. 12A and 12B, the cutting line along the longitudinal direction of the
Further, as shown in FIG. 12 (c), in the
Subsequently, the plurality of strip-shaped
