炭素数約6〜約30(例えば炭素数約6〜約20)のアリールチオ基等のアリールチオ基;
アルデヒド基;
ケトン基;
エステル基;
アミド基;
カルボン酸基;
スルホン酸基;等々。
アルキル、アリール、およびアリールアルキル基は例えば以下のような基で置換されていてもよい:シリル基;ニトロ基;シアノ基;フルオライド、クロライド、ブロマイド、ヨージド、アスタタイド等のハライド原子;第一級アミン、第二級アミン、第三級アミン等のアミン基;ヒドロキシ基;炭素数1〜約20(例えば炭素数1〜約10)のアルコキシ基等のアルコキシ基;炭素数約6〜約20(例えば炭素数約6〜約10)のアリールオキシ基等のアリールオキシ基;炭素数1〜約20(例えば炭素数1〜約10)のアルキルチオ基等のアルキルチオ基;炭素数約6〜約20(例えば炭素数約6〜約10)のアリールチオ基等のアリールチオ基;アルデヒド基;ケトン基;エステル基;アミド基;カルボン酸基;スルホン酸基、等々。Ar1およびAr2は、独立して、任意の好適なアリールまたはアリール含有基であり得、その例としては限定されるものではないが、フェニル、ナフチル、フェナントレン、アントラセン、等々、ならびに、これらの基に対して、アルキル、アリール、およびアリールアルキル基に対する置換として上で述べた置換を施した基などが挙げられる。スピロピランの式中のXは、N、O、S等の適切なヘテロ原子である。Yは−N−または−CH−であり得る。ビオロゲンの式中のX−は、例えばF−、Cl−、Br−、I−、BF4 −、PF6 −、B(C6H5)4 −等であり得る。アリールチオスルホネート中のX−は、例えば−O−、S、−NH−等であり得る。
スピロピラン/メロシアニンの例として、以下に示すものを調製した。この材料は0℃で着色状態をほぼ無期限に維持していた。しかし、80℃では、着色状態は無色状態へと数秒でシフトした。
スピロキシザンの例として以下に示すものを調製した。この材料は−20℃で着色状態を維持していた。しかし、室温では、着色状態は無色状態へと数秒でシフトした。
以下に示す例示材料を調製した。この材料は、室温および周囲のオフィス照明下で数週間、着色状態を維持していた。しかし、120〜140℃では、着色状態は無色状態へと数秒でシフトした。
Claims (7)
- 監視期間中に物品が環境条件に曝されたかどうかを決定する方法であって、
物品が環境条件に曝されたレベルに相関し得る環境条件のレベルにセンサーが曝されるように、監視期間の最初に物品に少なくとも近接してセンサーを配置する工程;
前記センサーを読み取る工程;および
前記センサーの読取りから、前記物品が前記環境条件に曝されたかどうかを決定する工程
を含み、
前記センサーが、フォトクロミック材料またはフォトサーモクロミック材料を含む検出材料を含み、前記検出材料が、ビスフェノールAと、ポリメチレンジカルボン酸と下記式SPで表される構造単位を含むジメチロール化合物とから誘導されるポリエステルを含み、前記環境条件に曝された時に検出可能な色変化を呈するように選択されており、前記物品の劣化に合うように環境条件に対するセンサーの反応率が調整されており、前記色変化が、120〜140℃の温度範囲において着色状態から無色状態へ変化する色変化である、
方法。
- フォトクロミック材料またはフォトサーモクロミック材料を含む検出材料を含むセンサーであって、前記検出材料が、ビスフェノールAと、ポリメチレンジカルボン酸と下記式SPで表される構造単位を含むジメチロール化合物とから誘導されるポリエステルを含み、環境条件に曝された時に検出可能な色変化を呈するように選択されており、追跡される物品の劣化に合うように環境条件に対するセンサーの反応率が調整されている、センサーであって、前記色変化が、120〜140℃の温度範囲において着色状態から無色状態へ変化する色変化である、センサー。
- 前記センサーがラベルである、請求項2に記載のセンサー。
- 前記センサーが更に支持基体を含む、請求項2または請求項3に記載のセンサー。
- 前記支持基体が、ガラス、セラミックス、木材、プラスチック、紙、ファブリック、織物製品、金属、普通紙、及びコート紙からなる群より選択される、請求項4に記載のセンサー。
- 前記検出材料が、光酸発生剤又は光塩基発生剤と、酸塩基指示薬との組み合わせを含む、請求項2〜請求項5のいずれか1項に記載のセンサー。
- 前記検出材料が、ガラス転移点Tgで調節されたポリマースピロピラン化合物を含む、請求項2〜請求項5のいずれか1項に記載のセンサー。
