Description
本願発明の発明者は、粘性状態にあるポリアミド11の最初の数分の挙動における見掛け粘度の急激な上昇に注目し、従来技術により製造されたプラスチックシースの欠陥は、押出し中におけるプラスチックの固有特性の変化に起因することを知見した。そして、発明者は、プラスチックの見掛け粘度がその水平域に到達するまでの時間をプラスチックに与えるために、まず、軟化した粘性プラスチックをバッファー室16に蓄え、押出ヘッド14への投入を遅らせるアイデアに想到した。押出ヘッド14内において、正確には、環状室24内において、プラスチックの粘度は殆ど変化しないので、押出されたシースには表面欠陥がなく、特に、シースの厚みにばらつきがないということが判明した。具体的には、プラスチックは、流入口26から投入されると、マンドレル周囲に設けられた流路に沿って複数の流れに分割され、筒状となる。プラスチックが環状室24内を移送される際に、その粘度が一定であれば、一方で、流路内でのプラスチックの流量は比較的等しくなり、他方で、プラスチックの流れは、単一で一体的な均一相をより容易に形成することができる。
Claims (8)
- プラスチックシースを管状構造体(15)の周りに押し出す押出設備(10)であって、高温の軟化した粘性プラスチックを供給する押出スクリュー(12)と、前記粘性プラスチックが流入する流入口(26)と、同流入口(26)の反対側に円形流出口(28)とを有する環状室(24)を備えた押出ヘッド(14)とを具備し、押出ヘッド(14)は、粘性プラスチックからなる複数の流れを形成するとともに、環状室内に設けた結合部にて複数の流れを集合して粘性プラスチックからなる筒を形成するべく、環状室(24)内に複数の通路を整列状態に設け、粘性プラスチックの筒を、円形流出口(28)を通過させてプラスチックシースを形成し、同プラスチックシースによって管状構造体(15)を被覆するべく、管状構造体(15)を押出ヘッド(14)内を通過させるようにした押出設備(10)において、
一定期間内で、粘度が一定温度で値m i から一定値m cst (m cst >m i )まで変化する粘性プラスチックを、押出スクリューによって供給し、
押出設備は、更に、押出スクリュー(12)と押出ヘッド(14)との間にバッファー室(16)を設け、押出スクリュー(12)からバッファー室(16)に供給された粘性プラスチックをバッファー室(16)内に一定温度で一定期間滞留してから押出ヘッド(14)に投入することにより、押出ヘッド(14)に投入される前に粘性プラスチックが粘度値mcstに到達するように構成し、
上記構成によって、前記粘性プラスチックの流れが結合部において集合し、単一の一体的均一相を形成するようにしたことを特徴とする押出設備。 - バッファー室(16)は筒対称部(30)を具備することを特徴とする請求項1記載の押出設備。
- 押出スクリュー(12)が長手方向に伸延し、筒対称部(30)が押出スクリュー(12)の延長線上に連続していることを特徴とする請求項2記載の押出設備。
- バッファー室(16)は、さらに、前記一つの筒対称部にU字状スプール部(40)を介して連結されたもう一つの筒対称部(36,38)を具備し、両筒対称部は実質的に平行に配置されることを特徴とする請求項2記載の押出設備。
- 前記筒対称部(30、36、38)は、バッファー室(16)における高温の軟化した粘性プラスチックの流れを攪乱するために障害物を具備することを特徴とする請求項2〜4のいずれかに記載の押出設備。
- 前記障害物は、内部に偏向板を取り付けたリングからなることを特徴とする請求項5記載の押出設備。
- 前記偏向板は、前記リングの軸線に対して実質的に垂直な支柱と、前記支柱に固着され格子を形成する横架部材とを具備することを特徴とする請求項6記載の押出設備。
- 前記横架部材は、前記支柱に対して実質的に垂直で、かつ、前記リングの軸線に対して所定の角度をなすことを特徴とする請求項7記載の押出設備。
