Description
Claims (33)
- ボールエンドミルインサート及びスペードドリルインサートから選択された複合物品を製造する方法であり、
第一の金属粉末グレードを、第一のフィーダからダイ内のキャビティの中心領域を規定しているダイ内のキャビティの第一の部分内へ導入し、第二の金属粉末グレードを、第二のフィーダからダイ内のキャビティの周辺領域を規定しているダイ内のキャビティの第二の部分内へ導入するステップであり、前記第一の金属粉末グレードは、少なくとも1つの特性が前記第二の金属粉末グレードと異なっている前記ステップと、
前記第一及び第二の金属粉末グレードを固化して圧粉体を形成するステップと、を含み、
前記圧粉体は、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードからなり且つインサートの回転中心軸線に沿って位置決めされた中心領域と、
前記第二の金属粉末グレードからなる2つの別個の周辺領域であって、前記中心領域が該2つの周辺領域間に配置されている前記2つの別個の周辺領域と、
前記中心領域の部分と前記2つの別個の周辺領域の部分とからなる切刃を有し、前記中心領域の部分と前記2つの別個の周辺領域とは、前記インサートの面に沿って直接に接合され、且つ前記切刃に沿って互いに整合されている切削チップと、
からなる、方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードを、第一のフィーダからダイ内のキャビティの第三の部分内へ導入するステップを更に含んでいる方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
前記圧粉体を焼結させて、第一の複合材料を含んでいる周辺領域と第二の複合材料を含んでいる中心領域とを有する複合インサートを形成するステップを更に含み、前記第一の複合材料と第二の複合材料とは少なくとも1つの特性が異なっている、方法。 - 請求項3に記載の方法であり、
前記第一及び第二の複合材料が、個々に、結合剤内に硬質の粒子を含んでおり、当該硬質の粒子は、個々に、炭化物、窒化物、ホウ化物、ケイ化物、酸化物、これらの固溶体のうちの少なくとも1つを含んでおり、前記結合剤が、コバルト、ニッケル、鉄、ルテニウム、パラジウム及びこれらの合金から選択された少なくとも1つの金属を含んでいる、方法。 - 請求項3に記載の方法であり、
前記特性が、組成、粒子サイズ、弾性率、硬度、耐摩耗性、破壊靱性、引っ張り強さ、耐食性、熱膨張率及び熱伝導率からなる群から選択された少なくとも1つの特性である方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードと第二の金属粉末グレードとが、個々に、金属炭化物と結合剤金属とを含んでいる方法。 - 請求項6に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードの金属炭化物の金属と、前記第二の金属粉末グレードの金属炭化物の金属とが、個々に、チタン、クロム、バナジウム、ジルコニウム、ハフニウム、モリブデン、タンタル、タングステン及びニオビウムからなる群から選択されたものである方法。 - 請求項7に記載の方法であり、
前記金属炭化物が炭化タングステンである方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
前記第一のフィーダ及び前記第二のフィーダのうちの1つが少なくとも2つの供給部分を含んでいる方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
第三の金属粉末グレードをフィーダから前記ダイのキャビティ内に導入するステップを更に含んでいる方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレード、前記第二の金属粉末グレード、又は第三の金属粉末グレードのうちの少なくとも1つをダイ内のキャビティの第三の部分内へ導入するステップを更に含んでいる方法。 - 請求項4に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の複合材料の結合剤と前記第二の複合材料の結合剤とが、各々、個々に、コバルト、コバルト合金、ニッケル、ニッケル合金、鉄、ルテニウム、パラジウム及び鉄合金からなる群から選択された金属を含んでいる方法。 - 請求項12に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の複合材料の結合剤と前記第二の複合材料の結合剤との化学組成が異なっている方法。 - 請求項6に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードの結合剤の重量パーセントが、前記第二の金属粉末グレードの結合剤の重量パーセントと異なっている方法。 - 請求項14に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードの金属炭化物は、化学組成及び平均粒子サイズのうちの少なくとも1つが、前記第二の金属粉末グレードの金属炭化物と異なっている方法。 - 請求項6に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードと第二の金属粉末グレードとが、個々に、2〜40重量パーセントの結合剤と、60〜98重量パーセントの金属炭化物とを含んでいる方法。 - 請求項16に記載の方法であり、
前記第一の金属粉末グレードと前記第二の金属粉末グレードとのうちの一方が、前記第一の金属粉末グレードと前記第二の金属粉末グレードとのうちの他方よりも1〜10重量パーセント多い結合剤を含んでいる方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であり、
前記キャビティの各部分を形成するために、ダイ内のキャビティ内に少なくとも1つの仕切を導入することを更に含んでいる方法。 - 請求項18に記載の方法であり、
前記仕切が、モーター、油圧、空気圧及びソレノイドのうちの少なくとも1つによってキャビティ内へと降ろされる方法。 - ボールエンドミルインサート及びスペードドリルインサートから選択されたモジュール型回転バイトのための複合インサートであり、
第一の複合材料からなり且つ前記複合インサートの回転中心軸線に沿って位置決めされた中心領域と、
第二の複合材料からなる2つの別個の周辺領域であって、前記中心領域が該2つの別個の周辺領域間に配置されている前記2つの別個の周辺領域と、
前記中心領域の部分と前記2つの周辺領域の部分とからなる切刃を有し、前記中心領域の部分と前記2つの別個の周辺領域とは、前記複合インサートの面に沿って直接に接合され、且つ前記切刃に沿って互いに整合されている切削チップと、を含み、
前記第一の複合材料は少なくとも一つの特性が前記第二の複合材料と異なっている、複合インサート。 - 請求項20に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一及び第二の複合材料が、個々に、結合剤内に硬質粒子を含んでおり、該硬質粒子が、個々に、炭化物、窒化物、ホウ化物、ケイ化物、酸化物、これらの固溶体のうちの少なくとも1つを含んでおり、前記結合剤が、コバルト、ニッケル、鉄、ルテニウム、パラジウム及びこれらの合金から選択された少なくとも1つの金属を含んでいる複合インサート。 - 請求項20に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記特性が、組成、粒子サイズ、弾性率、硬度、耐摩耗性、破壊靱性、引っ張り強さ、耐食性、熱膨張率及び熱伝導率からなる群から選択された少なくとも1つの特性である複合インサート。 - 請求項20に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料と前記第二の複合材料とが、個々に、結合剤内に金属炭化物を含んでいる複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料の金属炭化物の金属と前記第二の複合材料の金属炭化物の金属とが、チタン、クロム、バナジウム、ジルコニウム、ハフニウム、モリブデン、タンタル、タングステン及びニオビウムから個々に選択されたものである複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料の結合剤と前記第二の複合材料の結合剤とが、各々、個々に、コバルト、コバルト合金、ニッケル、ルテニウム、パラジウム、ニッケル合金、鉄及び鉄合金からなる群から選択された金属を含んでいる複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料の結合剤と前記第二の複合材料の結合剤との化学組成が異なっている複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料の結合剤の重量パーセントが、前記第二の複合材料の結合剤の重量パーセントと異なっている複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料の金属炭化物は、化学組成及び平均粒子サイズのうちの少なくとも1つが前記第二の複合材料の金属炭化物と異なっている複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料と第二の複合材料とが、個々に、2〜40重量パーセントの結合剤と、60〜98重量パーセントの金属炭化物とを含んでいる複合インサート。 - 請求項20に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記中心領域内の第一の複合材料の弾性率が、前記周辺領域内の第二の複合材料の弾性率と異なっている複合インサート。 - 請求項20に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記中心領域内の前記第一の複合材料の硬度及び耐摩耗性のうちの1つが、前記周辺領域内の第二の複合材料と異なっている複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記金属炭化物が炭化タングステンである複合インサート。 - 請求項23に記載の複合インサートであり、
前記第一の複合材料と第二の複合材料とのうちの一つが、0.3〜10μmの平均粒子サイズを有する炭化タングステン粒子を含んでいる複合インサート。
