Description
液晶パネル100の前面の周囲には、ベゼルやフロントカバーが薄くさらに形成されてもよい。ベゼルやフロントカバーは、液晶パネル100の前面端部にのみ取り付けられてもよく、折り曲げられた形態で液晶パネル100の前面端部及び側面を取り囲むように取り付けられてもよい。
かかる複数の光学シート80は、導光板70により拡散された光を集光するための少なくとも一つのプリズムシート82、拡散シート84、偏光シート86及び保護シート(不図示)などからなるとよい。このとき、積層されるシートの種類や積層される順番は、バックライトユニット10の使用用途に応じて変換設定することができる。

Claims (6)
- 複数の画素領域を備えて画像を表示する液晶パネル;
前記液晶パネルに光を照射するように前記複数の光源を実装し、ボトムカバーの内部側面に固定配置される少なくとも一つの光源固定部;
前記各光源からその側面入光面に光を入射され、光の進行方向を前面に変化させて出光させる導光板;
前記複数の光源と、前記光源固定部と、前記ボトムカバーの前面端部とを覆い被せるように内部が開口された形態で、前記導光板の端部及び前記ボトムカバーの前面に形成されたシートガイド;
前記シートガイドの前面に配置され、前記液晶パネルが安着されるパネルガイド;及び
前記シートガイド上に前記導光板とは離隔された状態で配置されて、前記導光板からの光を垂直に出射させる複数の光学シートを備え、
前記シートガイドは、
前面に前記複数の光学シートのうち最も背面に配置されたシートの背面端部が安着及び支持されるシート支持部、
少なくとも一つの接着部材や少なくとも一つの固定部材により前記各光学シートのうち少なくとも一つの光学シートを前記シート支持部に固定するシート固定部、及び
前記各光学シートのうち少なくとも一つの光学シートの流動を防止するように、前記シート支持部上に突出して形成された複数の突出固定部を備え、
前記光源と対面する前記導光板の入光面が、前記光学シートの外側面より外側に位置し、
前記光学シートの端部の背面及び側面を支持する前記シート支持部が、前記光学シートの端部の背面及び前記導光板の端部の上面とオーバーラップするように、前記光学シートと前記導光板の間に伸張して、前記光源から前記光学シートに直接入射される光を遮断し、
前記シート支持部とオーバーラップする、前記導光板の端部の上面は、前記光学シートの端部の背面とオーバーラップしない部分とオーバーラップする部分を含み、前記オーバーラップしない部分は、前記光源と前記オーバーラップする部分の間に位置する、ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記シート支持部は、
その中心部が開口された形態で形成された前記シートガイドにおける開口部の端部に段差のついた形態で形成され、前記各光学シートのうち最も背面に配置されたシートの背面端部と前記各光学シートの側面を支持することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記各光学シートは、
前記シートガイドの厚みまたは前記シート支持部と前記導光板間の間隔だけ前記導光板と離隔されて前記シート支持部に固定されて、
前記それぞれの光学シートには、前記シート支持部に形成された各突出固定部の幅と同一な幅で複数の固定溝が形成されて、前記シート支持部上で前記突出固定部のそれぞれと相互噛み合うように組み立てられたことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記パネルガイドが前記シートガイドの上面及び外側面を覆い被せるように、前記シートガイドは前記パネルガイドの内に挿入され、
前記シートガイドの端部の背面は、前記パネルガイドの側壁内に挿入された前記ボトムカバーの側壁により支持されている、ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 複数の固定溝が前記パネルガイドの側面上に形成され、
複数の固定突起が前記ボトムカバーの外側側面上に形成され、
前記複数の固定溝の数及び位置は、前記複数の固定突起の数及び位置と互いに一致し、
前記パネルガイドの前記複数の固定溝と前記ボトムカバーの前記複数の固定突起は互いに噛み合うようになっていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 少なくとも1つの接着部材や少なくとも1つの固定部材により、前記各光学シートのうち少なくとも1つの光学シートを前記シート支持部に固定するシート固定部をさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のバックライトユニット。
