Description
The present invention relates to a leak repair method for a hollow fiber membrane module used for water treatment and the like, and a hollow fiber membrane module.
This application claims priority on April 28, 2011 based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2011-102025 for which it applied to Japan, and uses the content here.
For various water treatments and the like, hollow fiber membrane modules having a plurality of hollow fiber membranes are widely used. In the hollow fiber membrane module, the hollow fiber membrane may be perforated or broken, and raw water may leak to the treated water side from there. In view of this, for example, there is known a method for specifying the presence or absence of a leak and a leak portion by using a leak inspection method for a hollow fiber membrane described in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2.
On the other hand, as a method of repairing the detected leak portion, there is a method of repairing using a thermosetting resin such as urethane resin or epoxy resin.
However, when repairing a leaked part using a thermosetting resin in this way, the repaired part must be removed so that the thermosetting resin applied to the repaired part does not adhere to other hollow fiber membranes. It is necessary to keep away from the hollow fiber membrane, and workability is poor.
In view of this, a method for repairing a leak portion by using a hot melt adhesive that cools and solidifies in a short time has been studied.
For example, FIG. 3 of Patent Document 3 describes a method of embedding a molten hot melt adhesive at the end of a hollow fiber membrane in which fracture has occurred.
However, a housing for collecting water is usually attached to the end of the hollow fiber membrane in the hollow fiber membrane module, and the end of the hollow fiber membrane is not exposed. Therefore, as in Patent Document 3, the method of embedding the hot melt adhesive in the end portion of the hollow fiber membrane is provided with an openable / closable cover or the like on the housing, so that the end portion of the hollow fiber membrane can be exposed. Although it can be applied to the hollow fiber membrane module of the form, it cannot be applied to the hollow fiber membrane module of a form in which the end of the hollow fiber membrane cannot be exposed.
Further, as described in Patent Document 3, in the method of closing the end portion of the hollow fiber membrane, the hollow fiber membrane with the end portion closed loses the filtration function over its entire length. Therefore, if the number of hollow fiber membranes repaired by such a method is large, there is a problem that the effective membrane area as a hollow fiber membrane module is greatly reduced.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and a hollow fiber membrane capable of repairing a leak portion in a short time and without greatly reducing the effective membrane area with respect to various forms of hollow fiber membrane modules. It is an object to provide a method for repairing a leak portion of a module and a hollow fiber membrane module repaired by the leak portion repair method.
The first aspect of the present invention has the following aspects.
[1] A leak repair method for a hollow fiber membrane module, wherein the hollow fiber membrane module includes a plurality of hollow fiber membranes, and the hollow fiber membrane has a support therein, A method for repairing a leak portion of a hollow fiber membrane module, comprising a sealing step of sealing by forming a seal portion on an outer surface including the leak portion of the hollow fiber membrane.
[2] A cutting step of cutting a part in the length direction of the hollow fiber membrane including the leak portion, and forming a sealing portion on the outer surface and the opening end surface in the vicinity of the opening end surface of the hollow fiber membrane opened by the cutting. The leak part repair method of the hollow fiber membrane module as described in [1] including the sealing process sealed by this.
By having the said structure, a leak part can be repaired in a short time, without impairing an effective area largely. Further, the presence of the support makes it difficult for repair defects due to thermal shrinkage of the hollow fiber membrane to occur, and the hollow fiber membrane is easy to maintain the shape of the hollow fiber when heated and melted, and the membrane is not easily crushed.
[3] In the sealing step, a hot melt adhesive is heated to 180 to 230 ° C. to form the sealing portion on the outer surface and the opening end surface near the opening end surface of the hollow fiber membrane opened by excision. The leak part repairing method for the hollow fiber membrane module according to [2], which is performed by:
By having the said structure, since a hollow fiber membrane fuse | melts with the heat | fever of the hot melt adhesive heated at 180-230 degreeC, the adhesive force with a hot melt adhesive can be improved.
[4] The leak repairing method for a hollow fiber membrane module according to [3], wherein the hot melt adhesive is made of a polyolefin-based resin and the support is made of a polyester resin.
By having the said structure, since melting | fusing point of polyolefin resin and polyester resin is the range of 100-180 degreeC, respectively, it is near the range of melting | fusing point of a general hollow fiber membrane. For this reason, since the hollow fiber membrane can be melted and bonded without overheating above the melting point of the hot melt adhesive, adverse effects such as thermal decomposition of the hot melt adhesive can be suppressed. Polyolefin resins and polyester resins have a low elastic modulus and excellent flexibility, so that stress concentration does not easily occur at the repaired portion due to bending of the hollow fiber membrane, melt viscosity is good, adhesive strength is excellent, and resistance is high. Excellent chemical properties.
[5] An extending portion provided so that the sealing portion extends from the opening end surface onto the outer peripheral surface of the hollow fiber membrane, and a base portion embedded in the hollow fiber membrane and bonded to the support. The method for repairing a leak portion of a hollow fiber membrane module according to any one of [2] to [4].
By having the said structure, a strong adhesiveness is securable also in the opening end surface to which an adhesive surface is hard to form by making it adhere | attach with a support body in a base.
[6] The leak repairing method for a hollow fiber membrane module according to any one of [2] to [5], wherein the hollow fiber membrane is made of polyvinylidene fluoride.
By having the said structure, since a polyvinylidene fluoride is a fluorine-type resin, the hollow fiber membrane module obtained by the said method is excellent in chemical resistance.
[7] The leak portion of the hollow fiber membrane module according to [5] or [6], wherein the maximum diameter x of the extension portion is formed to be 1 to 2 times the outer diameter of the hollow fiber membrane. Repair method.
By setting it as the said structure, when a sealing part is excellent in durability, it is hard to be caught in the adjacent hollow fiber membrane.
[8] The length y from the tip of the extending portion to the position of the open end surface of the hollow fiber membrane is formed to be 0.1 to 0.5 times the outer diameter of the hollow fiber membrane. [5] to [7] The leak portion repair method for a hollow fiber membrane module according to any one of [7].
By setting it as the said structure, while a sealing part is excellent in pressure | voltage resistance, an adhesive agent is not consumed excessively.
[9] The length z from the base end portion of the extending portion to the open end surface of the hollow fiber membrane is formed to be 0.5 to 1.5 times the outer diameter of the hollow fiber membrane. [5]-[8] The leak part repair method of the hollow fiber membrane module as described in any one of.
By setting it as the said structure, the adhesive strength of a sealing part improves and a repair defect can be reduced.
[10] A hollow fiber membrane module repaired by the leak portion repair method according to any one of [1] to [9], and having a sealing portion.
By setting it as the said structure, the hollow fiber membrane module by which the leak part was repaired without significantly impairing an effective area can be provided.
The second aspect of the present invention has the following aspects.

Further, the hollow
Examples of the material of the
As materials for the
The hollow
In addition, the leak part is specified by a leak inspection method in which the leak part can be specified, for example, a method in which a gas is sent into a film immersed in a liquid such as water or a surfactant, and the leak part is specified by the state of occurrence of bubbles. Alternatively, it is possible to use a method of pouring a colored fluid such as a colored liquid and specifying a leak portion based on the presence or absence of coloring.
Such a leak portion repair is performed as shown in FIGS.
The first aspect of the present invention will be described below.
<Repair method for leaking hollow fiber membrane module>
Cutting process:
First, as shown in FIG. 2A, a part of the length direction including the
The hollow fiber membrane is preferably cut perpendicular to the length direction. Thereby, the adhesive strength of a sealing part improves and repair defect can be reduced.
Sealing process:
Following the cutting step, as shown in FIG. 2B, a
Here, as shown in FIG. 2A, the length L1 of the hollow fiber membrane from the open end faces 11a and 11b newly opened by excision to the
The inner diameter D 1 of the
Further, the injection amount of the hot melt adhesive 50, may be an amount that the strength of the repaired portion is enough, the filling length L 2 from the opening
The hot melt adhesive 50 preferably has the same melting point as the resin constituting the
As described above, the melting points of polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyvinylidene fluoride that are suitably used as the material of the
The melt viscosity of the hot melt adhesive 50 is preferably 500 to 10,000 mPa · s. When the pressure is 500 mPa · s or more, troubles such as the molten hot melt adhesive 50 dripping and adhering to an undesired portion hardly occur. Further, if it is 10000 mPa · s or less, the viscosity of the melted hot melt adhesive 50 is not too high, and therefore adheres as desired on the
具体的には、ホットメルト接着剤50としては、EVA(エチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体)系樹脂、PO(ポリオレフィン)系樹脂、PA(ポリアミド)系樹脂、SR(合成ゴム)系樹脂、ACR(アクリル)系樹脂、PUR(ポリウレタン)系樹脂などが挙げられる。 Specifically, as the hot melt adhesive 50, EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer) resin, PO (polyolefin) resin, PA (polyamide) resin, SR (synthetic rubber) resin, ACR (acrylic) ) Resin, PUR (polyurethane) resin, and the like. Among these, a PO-based resin that is excellent in chemical resistance and hardly generates harmful gases even when burned at the time of disposal is preferable.
The leak repair method for a hollow fiber membrane in the first aspect of the present invention is preferably applied to a hollow fiber membrane having a support therein. The presence of the support makes it difficult for repair defects due to heat shrinkage of the hollow fiber membrane to occur, and when the hollow fiber membrane is heated and melted, the shape of the hollow fiber is easily maintained and the membrane is not easily crushed. The melting point of the support is preferably about the same as or lower than the melting point of the resin constituting the
Examples of the material for the support include polyolefin resins such as polyethylene resin and polyester resin, polypropylene resin, and the like, and polyester resin is particularly preferable. By using such a material and using a PO resin as a hot melt adhesive, the chemical adhesiveness can be matched and the adhesiveness can be further improved.
According to such a leak portion repairing method, since the hot melt adhesive 50 that solidifies without requiring a long time is used, for example, the
Moreover, in such a leak part repairing method, instead of sealing the end of the hollow fiber membrane in which the leak part has occurred, a part of the length of the
In addition, since such a leak portion repair method is not a method of sealing the end portion of the hollow fiber membrane, the hollow fiber membrane module in a form in which the end portion of the hollow fiber membrane cannot be exposed is not at all. It can be applied without problems.
Further, as in this example, when the hot melt adhesive 50 is provided so as to extend not only to the opening end faces 11a and 11b of the
As the outer shape of the sealing portion formed of the hot melt adhesive 50, for example, as shown in FIG. 3A, the diameter gradually increases from the
Moreover, in each of these shapes, the maximum diameter x of the sealing portion is preferably 1 or more times the outer diameter of the
The length y from the
The portion from the
As described above, a hollow fiber membrane in which a part in the length direction of the
<Hollow fiber membrane module>
The hollow fiber membrane module in the 1st side surface of this invention is a hollow fiber membrane module repaired with the above-mentioned leak part repair method, Comprising: It is a hollow fiber membrane module which has a sealing part. The sealing part is the same as the sealing part formed by the leak part repairing method described above.
Next, the second aspect of the present invention will be described in detail.
<Repair method for leaking hollow fiber membrane module>
The leak repairing method for the hollow fiber membrane module according to the second aspect of the present invention is the same as the first aspect of the present invention except that the hollow fiber membrane does not have a support as shown in FIG. 2F. It is a method.
<Hollow fiber membrane module>
The hollow fiber membrane module according to the second aspect of the present invention is the same hollow fiber membrane module as that of the first aspect of the present invention, except that the hollow fiber membrane does not have a support.
The form of the hollow fiber membrane module to be repaired is not limited. For example, as shown in FIG. 4, only the filtered water collected in the
In the above embodiment, the hollow fiber membrane is cut to expose the opening end face, and the outer surface near the tip and the sealing part are provided at the tip. However, when the leak part can be clearly determined, the hollow fiber membrane is hollow. The outer surface outer periphery of the hollow fiber membrane including the leak portion may be directly covered with a hot melt resin in a ring shape without cutting the yarn membrane.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described with reference to examples.
