Description
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire whose performance on ice is improved by suppressing the outer diameter growth of a tread portion.
Conventionally, a pneumatic tire has been proposed in which a large number of sipings are arranged on the tread surface of a tread block. Such a pneumatic tire increases the flexibility of the block, secures a sufficient contact area even during braking to obtain a large braking force, and can exhibit good running performance on an icy road due to the edge effect of siping. Such an effect is more effectively exhibited as the siping width is smaller.
In recent years, a technique for forming a three-dimensional Miura fold in siping is disclosed in
By the way, in the pneumatic tire, the outer diameter of the tread portion grows due to internal pressure filling after high-speed rim assembly or high-speed running. Such outer diameter growth of the tread portion has a problem in that siping is opened and the width thereof is increased, and as a result, the performance on ice is reduced due to the reduction of the contact area and the edge effect.
The present invention has been devised in view of the above problems, and in the temporarily assembled state, from the outer end in the tire axial direction of the innermost belt ply of the belt layer to the outermost end in the tire axial direction of the carcass. Basically, the ratio T1 / TW of the tire axial direction distance T1 and the tread width TW is regulated within a certain range, so that the outer diameter growth of the tread portion due to internal pressure filling or the like is suppressed and the siping width changes greatly. The main purpose is to provide a pneumatic tire that suppresses the above and improves the running performance on an icy road surface.
The invention according to
In the invention according to
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the temporarily assembled tire meridian cross section, the thickness of the inner rubber from the tire lumen surface to the carcass at the outermost end position of the carcass is the outermost end position of the carcass. The pneumatic tire according to
The invention according to claim 4 is the pneumatic tire according to
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, the block row includes a shoulder block row in which shoulder blocks arranged at positions closest to the grounding end are arranged, and at least three sipings are formed in the shoulder block. The siping includes a tie bar with a partially raised bottom, a semi-open siping in which only one end opens into the circumferential groove and the other end terminates in the tread, or a closed sipes in which both ends terminate in the tread. The pneumatic tire according to any one of
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, the siping of the shoulder block includes end sipings on both sides in the tire circumferential direction and at least one inner siping sandwiched between them and having a depth larger than the end siping.
In the pneumatic tire of the present invention, a specific shape of siping suitable for running on an icy road surface is formed on the block, and the innermost belt ply tire of the belt layer in the temporarily assembled state of the rim. The ratio T1 / TW between the tire axial distance T1 from the axial outer end to the outermost end of the carcass tire axial direction and the tread width TW is 0.10 to 0.15, which is smaller than the conventional one. Is done.
When such a pneumatic tire is filled with a normal internal pressure, a force to approach a perfect circle works on the basis of the equilibrium shape theory, increasing the amount of protrusion outward in the axial direction of the tire, while the outer diameter of the tread portion Growth can be suppressed. Therefore, the pneumatic tire of the present invention can suppress the opening of the siping provided on the tread surface of the block due to internal pressure filling or the like, thereby improving the performance on ice.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a right half sectional view including a tire rotation axis of a
Here, the “regular rim” is a rim defined for each tire in the standard system including the standard on which the tire is based, and is “standard rim” for JATMA, and “for TRA” “Design Rim” or “Measuring Rim” for ETRTO. In addition, the “regular internal pressure” is an air pressure determined by each standard for each tire in the standard system including the standard on which the tire is based. TIRE LOAD LIMITS AT VARIOUS COLD INFLATION PRESSURES "Maximum value", ETRTO, "INFLATION PRESSURE".
As shown in FIG. 1, the pneumatic tire (hereinafter, simply referred to as “tire”) 1 of the present embodiment reaches the
The
The belt layer 7 is composed of at least two
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The ground contact Te is the most tire when a normal load is applied to a
The
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the groove width of the circumferential groove 8 (the groove width is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the groove, and the same applies to other grooves hereinafter) W1 and the groove depth D1 (FIG. 1). The center
Further, the position of the shoulder
The
The
Each of the
If the groove depth D2 (shown in FIG. 6) of the
また、各ブロック11aないし11dのタイヤ軸方向長さBW(図2にショルダーブロック11dの幅を代表して示す。)
Moreover, the tire axial direction length BW of each
A plurality of sipings s extending in the tire axial direction and spaced substantially in parallel are provided on the
Each siping s is formed as a slit-like cut having a narrow width so that siping wall surfaces facing each other come into contact with each other when contacting the road surface. The siping s of the present embodiment is an open sipe having both ends opened in the
As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 5 (representatively showing the
When formed in a zigzag shape like the siping s of the present embodiment, the angle α of the siping s with respect to the tire axial direction is an angle formed by the
As shown in FIG. 5, the
As shown in FIG. 3 in an enlarged manner, the
As described above, the
Such a
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the
As shown in FIG. 3, in the tire meridian section in the temporarily assembled state, the
Further, the reinforcing
Also, in the tire meridian section in the temporarily assembled state, the radial inner thickness of the
Further, in the tire meridian section in the temporarily assembled state, the thickness E1 of the
From the same viewpoint, the thickness E1 is preferably 5 mm or more, more preferably 7 mm or more, and preferably 35 mm or less, more preferably 25 mm or less.
In addition, as a material of such a
Further, in the
Further, in the present embodiment, the siping s formed on the
Note that the ratio d3 / d4 of the raised bottom depth d3 and the bottom depth d4 other than the d3 of the siping s3 with tie bar ensures the rigidity of the

In order to exhibit the above-described action more effectively, the ratio d1 / d between the depth d1 of the end siping sa and the depth d of the inner siping sb is preferably 0.3 or more, more preferably 0.35 or more. Also, it is preferably 0.65 or less, more preferably 0.6 or less.
Further, if the ratio d / D2 between the inner siping depth d and the groove depth D2 of the

The test method is as follows.
<Ice braking performance>
A sample tire was assembled on a rim 6.0 × 15 at an internal pressure of 230 kPa and mounted on all wheels of a domestic FF vehicle with a displacement of 1998 cm 3 and allowed to run on the icy road under a single driver, starting at a speed of 30 km / h. The braking distance required for the vehicle to stop completely after braking with all wheels locked was measured. A result is an index | exponent which makes the braking distance of the comparative example 1 100, and shows that it is so favorable that a numerical value is large. Each of the test tires was tested after running on a dry road surface for 100 km.
<Abrasion resistance>
Each sample tire was mounted on the two front wheels of the vehicle, and the amount of wear on the shoulder lateral groove when the vehicle traveled 10,000 km was measured. The result is an index obtained by calculating the reciprocal of each amount of wear and setting the value of Comparative Example 1 to 100. The larger the value, the better. The test results are shown in Table 1.
According to the test results, both the braking performance on ice and the wear resistance performance have been improved by the present invention, which proved to be a significant invention.
