Description
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire, and more particularly to a pneumatic tire in which durability of a tire bead portion is improved.
In a pneumatic tire that is used under severe conditions where a large thrust force is repeatedly applied from the load load or rim flange, a large external force acts on the bead part, so that the bead part falls down toward the outside in the tire width direction. The phenomenon of falling down occurs. Due to this collapse phenomenon, a large shear strain acts in the tire width direction between the carcass and the rubber positioned therearound near the ply turn-up end portion of the carcass, and separation is likely to occur. Further, the bead portion that comes into contact with the rim flange of the applied rim under the action of a heavy load repeatedly wears in the circumferential direction and the tire radial direction with respect to the flange, and thus wears significantly, and sometimes cracks occur. For this reason, various measures have been taken to improve the durability of the bead portion.
As an example of this, side reinforcement with high hardness on the outer side in the tire width direction of the ply turn-up portion in order to prevent the bead portion from dynamically cracking due to the bending of the bead portion as described above due to input to the pneumatic tire. It is known to place rubber. On the other hand, even if the rigidity of the bead portion is increased too much by the side reinforcing rubber, distortion due to the rigidity step between the side reinforcing rubber and the carcass increases, and conversely, cracking easily occurs. It is known that a buffer rubber softer than the side reinforcing rubber is also disposed (see Patent Documents 1 and 2).
However, no consideration has been given to the arrangement balance of the side reinforcing rubber and the buffer rubber. In the

The inventor has made the following inventions as a result of earnestly examining the placement balance of these rubbers, which can exert the respective functions of the side reinforcing rubber and the buffer rubber most, and can maximize the durability of the bead part. completed.

According to the present invention, a bead portion of a pneumatic tire having a side reinforcing rubber and a buffer rubber as a result of finding an arrangement relationship that can best exhibit the functions of the side reinforcing rubber and the buffer rubber and adopting the configuration. It is possible to provide a novel pneumatic tire that can further improve the durability of the tire. Its operation will be described later.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. In principle, the same components are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof is omitted.
A typical pneumatic tire 1 according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. 1 shows the pneumatic tire 1 and the applied rim 11 separated from each other for the sake of clarity, but FIGS. 1 and 2 both show the pneumatic tire 1 mounted on the applied rim 11 and filled with a predetermined air pressure. The tire width direction cross section of the tire mounting posture in a loaded state is shown. As a shape of a pair of bead part 2 (only one side is shown), it has the
The pneumatic tire 1 has a
The Tire and Rim Association Inc.のYear Book”であり、欧州では、”The European Tire and Rim Technical OrganizationのSTANDARDS MANUAL”であり、日本では日本自動車タイヤ協会の”JATMA Year Book”である。 In the present specification, the “predetermined air pressure” means an air pressure corresponding to a maximum load (maximum load capacity) of a single wheel in an application size described in the following standard. Further, the “predetermined load condition” means applying a load of the maximum load (maximum load capacity) of a single wheel in the application size described in the same standard. The “applied rim” is a standard rim (or “Approved Rim” or “Recommended Rim”) in the applicable size described in the standard. As for such industrial standards, standards that are effective in regions where tires are produced or used are defined. For example, “Year Book of The Tire and Rim Association Inc.” in the United States, “STANDARDS MANUAL of The European Tire and Rim Technical Organization” in Europe, and “JATMA Year Book” of the Japan Automobile Tire Association in Japan. It is.
The pneumatic tire 1 includes a
Side reinforcement rubbers 8 extending at least from the
Between the side reinforcing rubber 8 and the
Here, the arrangement of the shock absorbing rubber, which is the main feature of the present invention, will be described mainly with reference to FIG. A point P in FIG. 2 indicates the maximum width position of the ply main body portion of the
Here, the technical significance in which the present invention employs such a configuration will be described, including the functions and effects. As already described, in the case of the configuration having only the side reinforcing rubber 8 without the
The
Since the
Moreover, although the
Since the
The pneumatic tire of the present invention can be used for tires for any application including tires for passenger cars, but can be more effective when used as a tire for heavy-duty vehicles. For example, it is preferable that the TRA standard weight index K (tire deflection index) is used in a heavy load region of 1.9 or more. An example of such a tire is an agricultural machine tire.
Next, in order to further clarify the effects of the present invention, a comparative evaluation performed using pneumatic tires according to the following examples and comparative examples will be described. The example tire and the comparative example tire shown in Table 1 mounted on the applicable rim defined in the JATMA standard were subjected to strain calculation by a three-dimensional FEM model and an indoor drum test. Each tire had a size of 420 / 85R34, a rim width W13, an internal pressure of 200 kPa, and a load of 4.25 t.

(Strain calculation method using 3D FEM model)
An FEM model in which each tire was traced was created, a predetermined calculation was performed, and the strain level of the ply back surface portion (bead portion region from the ply folded portion to the tire surface) when a load was applied was confirmed. The index was displayed based on the comparative tire. The smaller the value, the better the less distortion. The results are also shown in Table 1.
(Indoor drum test)
Each tire was mounted under the above conditions, and rolled on the drum of a load drum tester at a speed of 10 mph, and the running time until separation occurred in the bead portion was measured. The index was displayed as a comparative tire and a reference. The larger the value, the longer the traveling time and the better the result. The results are also shown in Table 1.
As shown in Table 1, as compared with the comparative tire, any of the tires of the examples hardly causes distortion, and the bead portion durability is improved.
According to the present invention, a bead portion of a pneumatic tire having a side reinforcing rubber and a buffer rubber as a result of finding an arrangement relationship that can best exhibit the functions of the side reinforcing rubber and the buffer rubber and adopting the configuration.
