Claims (7)
- 光ビームを生成するためのピクセルを有する表示パネル、及び、前記光ビームの方向を調節するための調節器を有するマルチビュー表示装置であって、前記調節器は、オフ状態及びオン状態を有し、層の積層を有し、
前記積層は、第1光学軸を有する第1固体材料層、第2光学軸を有する第2固体材料層、及び、切り替え可能な複屈折性のツイステッド・ネマチック液晶材料又はキラル・ネマチック液晶材料を有し、
前記第1固体材料層と複屈折材料との間に第1界面が形成され、前記第2固体材料層と複屈折材料との間に第2界面が形成され、前記第1界面及び前記第2界面はそれぞれ、前記光ビームの方向を調節するためのレンチキュラ・レンズ又はプリズムのアレイを定め、
オフ状態において、前記第1界面における前記複屈折材料は、前記第1光学軸に平行な光学軸を有するように構成され、前記第2界面における前記複屈折材料は、前記第2光学軸に平行な光学軸を有するように構成され、
オン状態において、前記第1界面における前記複屈折材料は、前記第1光学軸に垂直な光学軸を有するように構成され、前記第2界面における前記複屈折材料は、前記第2光学軸に垂直な光学軸を有するように構成され、
オン状態において、前記マルチビュー表示装置はマルチビュー・モードとなり、オフ状態において、前記マルチビュー表示装置はシングルビュー・モードとなる、マルチビュー表示装置。 - 前記第1光学軸及び前記第2光学軸が直角を成し、前記第1光学軸及び前記第2光学軸が前記積層の面の方向を向く、請求項1に記載のマルチビュー表示装置。
- 無偏光の前記光ビームを生成する表示パネルを有する、請求項1又は請求項2に記載のマルチビュー表示装置。
- 前記表示パネルが有機発光ダイオード表示パネル又は発光ダイオード表示パネルである、請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載のマルチビュー表示装置。
- 前記第1固体材料層と前記第2固体材料層との間の最小間隔が、前記レンチキュラレンズアレイのレンチキュラ・レンズの深さ未満である、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載のマルチビュー表示装置。
- 前記マルチビュー表示装置が自動立体視表示装置であり、前記マルチビュー・モードが三次元モードであり、前記シングルビュー・モードが二次元モードである、請求項1から請求項5のいずれか一項に記載のマルチビュー表示装置。
- 前記マルチビュー表示装置がデュアルビュー表示装置であり、前記マルチビュー・モードが、少なくとも2人の観察者に少なくとも2つの異なる二次元画像を提供するためのマルチビュー・モードであり、前記シングルビュー・モードが1つの二次元画像を提供するためのモードである、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載のマルチビュー表示装置。
