Description
The present invention relates to a sealing body for electrolytic capacitors that has solvent resistance and chemical resistance to an electrolytic solution, and is excellent in heat resistance, low temperature characteristics, and gas barrier properties.
FIG. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of a general structure of an electrolytic capacitor. A
As the sealing rubber for electrolytic capacitors, natural rubber was used at the initial stage. However, natural rubber has the drawback of lacking heat resistance and gas barrier properties. Thus, ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM), which has better heat resistance and gas barrier properties than natural rubber, has been used, but further gas barrier properties have been required. In recent years, the use of butyl rubber (IIR) has become the mainstream as a rubber with good gas barrier properties. However, butyl rubber (IIR) obtained by ordinary sulfur vulcanization is inferior in heat resistance as compared with ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM), and further, sulfur has a problem of corroding an aluminum electrode in the capacitor.
Therefore, in order to overcome the problems of heat resistance and corrosion, a sealing rubber made of a rubber obtained by subjecting partially crosslinked butyl rubber to peroxide crosslinking has been used. This sealing rubber was able to withstand the use at high temperatures up to about 120 ° C, but since the heat radiation fins were downsized with the miniaturization and weight reduction of parts, including in-vehicle use, the higher temperature was about 150 ° C. Sealing rubber that can withstand use at temperatures up to is needed. For example, in the case of in-vehicle use, it is necessary to adapt to a wide temperature range of −40 ° C. to 150 ° C. Moreover, the liquid resistance with respect to electrolyte solutions, such as ethylene glycol and (gamma) -butyllactone, is also required, and the sealing rubber which has these characteristics was calculated | required.
Silicone rubber and fluororubber are known as heat-resistant rubber. However, silicone rubber has a large gas permeability among various rubbers and is not suitable as a sealing rubber. On the other hand, although fluororubber has low gas permeability, a general-purpose product loses rubber elasticity at a low temperature of −20 ° C. or lower, so that the sealing performance may not be maintained.
In order to solve these problems, the present inventors have used perfluoropolyether-based fluorine-containing rubber to have solvent resistance and chemical resistance against electrolyte solution, and excellent heat resistance and low temperature characteristics. In addition, a sealing rubber material for electrolytic capacitors has been proposed that has characteristics such as not corroding electrode materials such as aluminum because sulfur is not used for crosslinking. However, the gas permeability is larger than that of butyl rubber, and the higher the temperature, the larger the gas permeability of the rubber material. Therefore, when considering high temperature use at 150 ° C., improvement in gas barrier properties is required. It was.
As a method for improving the gas barrier property, a resin film is laminated or a laminate with the resin film is proposed. However, no proposal has been made in consideration of durability such as heat resistance and solvent resistance of the rubber material itself.
In addition, the following is mentioned as a prior art relevant to this invention.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, has good liquid resistance to an electrolytic solution, has good heat resistance, and can be applied to a wide temperature range of -40 ° C to 150 ° C.
