Description
本発明はさらに、この複合繊維の製造方法と、その使用とに関するものである。
(1)金属線:重くて酸化し易いという欠点がある。
(2)導電性ポリマー繊維:酸化およびジュール効果による熱に敏感で、耐洗濯性が良くなく、安定性が低く、ポリマーが化学的に分解(例えば架橋)および/または所定温度以上で機械特性が損なわれることがある。
(3)導電性粒子で表面を被覆、例えば銀メッキしたポリマー繊維:摩擦および摩耗によってコーティングが劣化し易い。
(4)炭素または金属をベースにした導電性粒子を入れたポリマー繊維。
を含む(好ましくは上記モノマーから成る)ポリマーを意味する。
上記フェニル基はC1〜C8アルキル基で置換されていてもよい。
本発明では、必要に応じて粉砕した粗多重壁ナノチューブ、すなわち、酸化も精製も官能化もせず、その他の任意の化学的処理もしていない多重壁ナノチューブを用いることができる。
多重壁ナノチューブは本発明の複合繊維の重量に対して0.1〜50重量%、好ましくは1〜10重量%にすることができる。
(a)多重壁ナノチューブを、必要に応じてマスターバッチの形で(ポリマーマトリックスの一部として)ポリマーマトリックスの全部または残りの部分に分散させて複合材料混合物を作り、
(b)得られた複合材料混合物を繊維に加工する。
さらに、この方法で得られる複合繊維は本質的に導電性である、すなわち、室温で105Ω.cm以下の抵抗を有するが、複合繊維の導電性は熱処理によってさらに改良できる。
(a)元素周期律表のIIIa、IVaまたはVa族の少なくとも一つの化学元素の多重壁ナノチューブを主としてポリアリールエーテルケトン(PAEK)から成る熱可塑性マトリックス中に分散させ、
(b)得られた混合物を加工して繊維にし、
(c)得られた繊維を必要に応じて延伸する。
(1)延伸ポリマー繊維、特に下記材料をベースにしたもの:ポリアミド、例えばナイロン6(PA−6)、ナイロン11(PA−11)、ナイロン12(PA−12)、ナイロン6,6(PA−6,6)、ナイロン4,6(PA−4,6)、ナイロン6,10(PA−6,10)またはナイロン6,12(PA−6,12)、ポリアミド/ポリエーテルブロックコポリマー(ペバックス(Pebax、登録商標))、高密度ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレンまたはポリエステル、例えばポリヒドロキシアルカノエートおよびデュポン(DU PONT)社から商品名ハイトレル(Hytrel、登録商標)で市販のポリエステル、
(2)炭素繊維、
(3)ガラス繊維、特にE−ガラス、R−ガラスまたはS2−ガラス繊維、
(4)アラミド繊維(Kevlar(登録商標))、
(5)ホウ素繊維、
(6)シリカ繊維、
(7)天然繊維、例えば亜麻、麻、サイザル、綿またはウール繊維、および
(8)上記の混合物、例えばガラス繊維と炭素繊維とアラミド繊維との混合物。
オックスフォードパフォーマンスマテリアル社のOXPEKK(登録商標)−SPグレードのPEKK(96重量%)と、アルケマ社のグラフィストレングス(Graphistrength)(登録商標)多重壁カーボンナノチューブ(3重量%)と、可塑剤CBT(登録商標)100(1重量%)とを380℃に加熱した二軸押出機(L/D=40)に供給ホッパを介して導入した。ダイから得られた押出ロッドを水槽内で冷却し、次いで、ペレット化して乾燥した。
実施例1で得られた顆粒を、0.5mmの穴があいたダイを備え且つ390℃に加熱した一軸押出機(L/D=16)に導入した。得られた繊維を延伸リグで延伸し、最終直径が100μmで安定化させた。これを空冷した後、適切な装置を用いてリールに巻取った。
Claims (11)
- 多重壁ナノチューブが分散した非晶質ポリエーテルケトンケトン(PEKK)から成る熱可塑性ポリマーマトリックスを有し、上記非晶質PEKKのガラス遷移温度(T g )以上でかつ(融点が存在する場合に)その融点以下の温度で延伸して得られる複合繊維。
- 上記多重壁ナノチューブが炭素、窒化炭素、窒化硼素、炭化硼素、燐化硼素、窒化燐、窒化硼素炭素、珪素またはタングステンから成る請求項1に記載の複合繊維。
- 多重壁ナノチューブが多重壁カーボンナノチューブである請求項2に記載の複合繊維。
- 多重壁ナノチューブの含有量が繊維の重量に対して0.1〜50重量%である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維。
- PEKKが非晶質である請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維。
- PEKKのガラス遷移温度(Tg)が150〜170℃(両限界値を含む)である請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維。
- 上記多重壁ナノチューブが元素周期律表のIIIa、IVaまたはVa族の少なくとも一つの化学元素の多重壁ナノチューブである請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維の、ロケットまたは航空機の機首、翼または機体;オフショアホース用強化材;自動車の車体またはエンジンシャーシ部品;帯電防止包装および織物;電磁遮蔽装置;加熱ファブリック;導電性ケーブル;センサ;生物医学装置の製造での使用。
- 下記(a)および(b)を含む請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維の製造方法:
(a)多重壁ナノチューブを上記熱可塑性ポリマーマトリックス中に分散させ、必要な場合にはマスターバッチの形で上記熱可塑ポリマーマトリックスの一部としてポリマーマトリックス中の全部または残りの部分に分散させて、複合材料混合物を作り、
(b)上記複合材料混合物を溶融紡糸プロセスで繊維に加工する。 - 下記の段階を含む請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記複合繊維の製造方法:
(a)元素周期律表のIIIa、IVaまたはVa列の少なくとも一つの化学元素の多重壁ナノチューブを主として非晶質ポリアリールエーテルケトン(PAEK)から成る熱可塑性マトリックス中に分散させ、
(b)得られた混合物を繊維に加工し、
(c)得られた繊維を必要に応じて延伸する。 - 請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の複合繊維を含む構造用複合部品。
