Description
In this invention, the steering column is displaced forward with respect to the vehicle body so as to enable the forward displacement of the steering wheel while absorbing the impact energy applied to the steering wheel from the driver's body in the event of a collision. The present invention relates to an improvement of a support device for a steering column for supporting the vehicle.
[Conventional technology]
The automobile steering device is configured as shown in FIG. 26, and transmits the rotation of the steering wheel 1 to the input shaft 3 of the
In order to protect the driver, it is necessary for the above-described automobile steering device to have a structure that displaces the steering wheel 1 while absorbing impact energy in the event of a collision. That is, in the event of a collision accident, a secondary collision in which the driver's body collides with the steering wheel 1 occurs following a primary collision in which the automobile collides with another automobile or the like. In order to alleviate the impact applied to the driver's body during the secondary collision and to protect the driver, the steering column 6 supporting the steering wheel 1 is associated with the vehicle body with the secondary collision. A portion that displaces forward due to a forward impact load (including a state in which the supporting force is completely lost, including a state of being displaced forward than in a normal state), and a portion that is displaced forward together with the steering column 6; Providing an energy absorbing member that absorbs the impact load by plastic deformation between the body and the vehicle body has been conventionally known, for example, as described in Patent Documents 1 to 5, and is widely implemented. Yes.
FIGS. 27 to 29 show an example of a conventional steering device (which is not publicly known, but is basically not different from the prior art in relation to the present invention). A
For this purpose, the
Each of these
The
Further, in the illustrated example,
At the time of a secondary collision, the bolts or studs are pulled out of the
In the case of the conventional structure shown in FIGS. 27 to 29 described above, the
Adopting the structure described in Patent Document 1 is effective in eliminating the factor that destabilizes the forward disengagement due to such a cause. 30 to 32 show the conventional structure described in Patent Document 1. FIG. In the case of this conventional structure, a
Further, the left and right end portions of the
そして、前記係止カプセル19が前記係止切り欠き18から前方に抜け出して、前記ステアリングコラム6b(及びステアリングシャフトを介してこのステアリングコラム6bに支持されたステアリングホイール)が前方に変位する事を許容する。
When a forward impact load is applied to the
In the case of the conventional structure shown in FIGS. 30 to 32 described above, there is only one engagement portion between the
In the case of the conventional structure as shown in FIGS. 30 to 32 described above, it is effective from the surface that allows the steering column to be released in a stable posture forward at the time of a secondary collision, but the load (detachment load) required for this separation is effective. There is room for improvement in terms of lowering and stabilizing the driver's protection. This point will be described below.
In order to keep the impact on the driver's body at the time of a secondary collision lower, keep the separation load low so that the steering column starts to move smoothly forward at the moment of the secondary collision. Is preferred. That is, the start of the forward displacement of the steering column is smoothly performed at the moment of the occurrence of the secondary collision, and the impact applied to the driver's body colliding with the steering wheel is suppressed as little as possible. As the vehicle travels, it is preferable to plastically deform the energy absorbing member attached to the steering column to absorb the impact energy transmitted to the steering wheel in order to enhance the protection of the driver.
On the other hand, in the case of the conventional structure as shown in FIGS. 30 to 32, in order to start the forward displacement of the
For the reasons described above, with the conventionally known structure, it is difficult to disengage the steering column in a stable posture at the time of a secondary collision, and to make the disengagement load low and stable.
In view of the circumstances as described above, the present invention can be easily tuned to stably displace the steering wheel forward in the event of a secondary collision, and can further reduce and stabilize the detachment load. Accordingly, the invention was invented to realize a structure capable of preventing the steering wheel from being lowered excessively after the secondary collision.

It is a notch which opens in .
Further, the column side bracket is made of a metal plate such as a carbon steel plate, and is disposed below the vehicle body side bracket while being supported on the steering column side, and an upper plate portion is provided at an upper end portion. Yes.
The column side bracket is supported on the vehicle body side bracket so as to be able to be detached forward by an impact load applied during a secondary collision.
In particular, the steering column support device of the present invention includes a slide member. This slide member is provided with a pair of upper and lower sliding plate portions each having a width dimension larger than the width dimension of the latching and removing portion. These sliding plate portions may be provided independently of each other, or may be connected by a connecting portion having a width dimension smaller than the width dimension of the latching and removing portion as in the invention described in
In the case of the steering column support device of the present invention, such a slide member is moved up and down on both side portions of the latching and removing portion by a part of the vehicle body side bracket by both widthwise end portions of the sliding plate portions. Arranged from both sides.
And the head and the upper plate part, which are provided in the upper end part of the coupling member inserted through the slide member in the vertical direction, are restraining parts having an outer diameter dimension larger than the width dimension of the locking meat removal part. The column side bracket is coupled and supported with respect to the vehicle body side bracket by sandwiching the vehicle body side bracket between the sliding plate portions.
When implementing such a steering column support device of the present invention, for example, as in the third aspect of the present invention, the locking thinning portion is made of two transparent parts that are long in the front-rear direction and parallel to each other. Hole or notch. And the said slide member and the said connection member are each installed in the rear-end part of these both through-holes or notches.
Alternatively, as in the invention described in claim 4, the locking thinning portion is configured such that the front half portion is a wide portion and the rear half portion is further rearward from the positions of two widthwise end portions of the rear edge of the wide portion. A through-hole having two extended portions each extending in the front-rear direction and parallel to each other, each having a notch shape. And the said slide member and the said connection member are each installed in the rear-end part of both these extension parts.
When carrying out the invention described in claims 3 to 4, a pair of slide members can be integrally connected by a connecting portion as in the invention described in claim 5, for example.
Further, when carrying out the invention described in claims 3 to 5, for example, as in the invention described in claim 6, it is hung between the slide members on the upper side of the pair of slide members. A reinforcing plate can be provided in a handed state, and the upper surface of the reinforcing plate can be pressed downward toward the vehicle body side bracket by the head .
Further, when the steering column support device of the present invention as described above is implemented, for example, as in the invention described in claim 7, the locking thinning portion is provided with a single through hole or a long hole in the front-rear direction. It can also be a notch. In this case, this through hole or notch is formed in the center of the portion between the two positions on both sides in the width direction. And the said slide member and the said connection member are installed in the rear-end part of this through-hole or notch.
Alternatively, as in the invention described in claim 8, the locking thinning portion can be a locking notch that opens at the center in the width direction of the front end edge of the vehicle body side bracket. And, by a lower folded portion formed by folding a part of the metal plate constituting the vehicle body side bracket facing the rear end edge of the upper plate portion of the column side bracket into a U-shaped cross section toward the front lower side The rear end edge portion of the upper plate portion is loosely held. Further, the width dimension is larger than the width dimension of the locking notch at the front end portion of the base portion extending forward from the front edge of the upper plate portion and having a width dimension smaller than the width dimension of the locking notch. The extension plate portion provided with a large holding plate portion is folded upward in a U-shaped cross section toward the rear upper side, and the both side portions of the locking notch are suppressed by a part of the vehicle body side bracket. .
Further, when the steering column supporting device of the present invention as described above is implemented, for example, as in the invention described in claim 9, the coupling member is a bolt . And the lower end part which protruded from the lower surface of this upper board part by inserting the collar part of this bolt from the upper part in the above-mentioned slide member, the above-mentioned latching part, and the penetration hole formed in the above-mentioned upper board part Screw the nut onto and tighten it further.
Further, as in the invention described in
According to the steering column support device of the present invention configured as described above, it is easy to tune to stably displace the steering wheel forward in the event of a secondary collision, and the separation load can be reduced and stabilized. In addition, if necessary, it is possible to realize a structure that can prevent the steering wheel from being lowered excessively after the secondary collision.
First of all, the ease of tuning to stably displace the steering wheel forward in the event of a secondary collision is as follows: the vehicle body side bracket and the column side bracket are supported and fixed to the vehicle body side on both sides in the width direction. This can be achieved by engaging at a portion between two positions. When engaged at a portion between these two positions, impact energy applied to the column side bracket along with the secondary collision is applied almost evenly to the engaging portion, and at the time of the secondary collision, It is difficult to apply a moment in the bending direction, and the tuning can be facilitated.
Further, the low and stable separation load can be achieved by using the vehicle body side bracket and the column side bracket as a part of the vehicle body side bracket and a part of a pair of upper and lower sliding plates constituting a slide member. It can be achieved by pinching. Due to the presence of both of these sliding plate portions, the frictional force acting between the upper and lower surfaces of the vehicle body side bracket and the lower surface of the head that is the restraining portion of the coupling member and the upper surface of the upper plate portion of the column side bracket is reduced. It can be suppressed. For this reason, the separation load determined based on the frictional force can be reduced and stabilized.
Further, it is possible to prevent the steering wheel from descending excessively after the secondary collision (prevention of dropping) by sufficiently increasing the length in the front-rear direction of the locking and removing portion. By adopting such a configuration, even when the steering wheel is fully displaced forward as the secondary collision progresses, the relationship between the lower surface of the head of the coupling member and the upper surface of the front end of the vehicle body side bracket is achieved. There is no need to disengage or to buffer the front end edge of the locking thinning portion and the coupling member. For this reason, the column side bracket is prevented from being displaced downward relative to the vehicle body side bracket, and the steering wheel supported by the column side bracket via the steering column is prevented from being lowered excessively. it can. As a result, the positional relationship between the steering wheel and the driver is appropriately maintained. For example, depending on the degree of the collision accident, the operability of the steering wheel is ensured, and the work for retracting the accident vehicle to the road shoulder is facilitated. The effect of being able to be performed is obtained.
In carrying out the present invention, an energy absorbing member is provided between the column side bracket and a portion supported and fixed on the vehicle body side. If this energy absorbing member is provided, even if the separation load is kept sufficiently low, an appropriate resistance is given to the steering wheel being displaced forward as the secondary collision progresses. it can. And the impact applied to the body of the driver who collided with the steering wheel can be eased, and the driver can be fully protected in the event of a collision.
[First example of embodiment]
FIGS. 1-6 has shown the 1st example of embodiment of this invention corresponding to Claims 1-3, 9. FIG. The feature of the present invention, including this example, is that the
The column-
Such a
The width of the vehicle
The
In addition, among the sliding
Each of the outer and inner
In addition, a part of the inner
In order to connect the
Therefore, the upper surface of the
When the respective parts are combined in this manner, the
According to the structure of the present example configured as described above, for the reasons described above, it is easy to tune to stably displace the steering wheel forward at the time of a secondary collision, and the separation load is low and stable. You can make it. The value of the detachment load can be arbitrarily adjusted by adjusting the tightening torque between the
Furthermore, it is possible to realize a structure that can prevent the steering wheel from being lowered excessively after the secondary collision. For this reason, in the case of this example, the length of the through

According to such a structure of this example, since the coating layers made of the low friction material are slid at the time of the secondary collision, the separation load at the time of the secondary collision can be made lower and stable.
Since the configuration and operation of the other parts are the same as in the second example of the above-described embodiment, illustration and description regarding the equivalent parts are omitted.

[Fifth Example of Embodiment]
12 to 14 show a fifth example of the embodiment of the invention corresponding to

FIGS. 15-16 has shown the 6th example of embodiment of this invention corresponding to Claim 1 , 2, 4-6, 9 ,. In the case of this example, a rectangular reinforcing

[Eighth Example of Embodiment]
FIG. 19 shows an eighth example of an embodiment of the present invention corresponding to claims 1 to 3 and 9 . In the case of this example, a pair of opening and closing portions formed on the
Since the configuration and operation of other parts are the same as those of the first example of the above-described embodiment, illustration and description regarding the equivalent parts are omitted.
[Ninth Embodiment]
20 to 23 show a ninth example of the embodiment of the invention corresponding to

Since the structure and operation of other parts are the same as those in the seventh example of the embodiment shown in FIGS.
