3a、3b 外部電極
10 セラミック焼結体
すなわち、本誘電体セラミックは、実質的にカルシウム成分を含まないチタン酸バリウムを主成分とし、副成分として第1の添加元素Rを含有したR酸化物ROn、第2の添加元素Mを含有したM酸化物MOv、及び焼結助剤XOwを含む組成からなる。

0.1≦c≦5.0…(4)
次に、m、a、b、cを数式(1)〜(4)のように限定した理由を述べる。
mは主成分であるチタン酸バリウムのBaサイトのTiサイトに対する比を規定し、化学量論的には1.000であるが、必要に応じてBaサイト過剰又はTiサイト過剰となるようにBa化合物とTi化合物との配合比率を調整してもよい。
第1の添加元素Rを主成分に添加することにより、誘電損失tanδを抑制でき、また信頼性向上にも寄与する。
第2の添加元素Mを主成分に添加することにより、第1の添加元素Rと同様、誘電損失tanδを抑制でき、また信頼性向上にも寄与する。
主成分に適量の焼結助剤を添加することにより、焼結性を向上させることができ低温焼成に寄与することができると共に、誘電体セラミックの各種特性の向上を図ることができる。
〔試料番号1〜4〕
まず、セラミック素原料として、BaCO3及びTiO2を用意し、BaとTiとの配合モル比mが1.008となるように、これらセラミック素原料を秤量した。

次いで、これら副成分材料をボールミル内で前記主成分粉末と混合し、その後、蒸発乾燥させてセラミック原料粉末を得た。
分級処理をしなかった以外は〔試料番号1〕と同様の作製方法で試料番号5の積層セラミックコンデンサを作製した。
分級処理をしなかった以外は〔試料番号3〕と同様の作製方法で試料番号6の積層セラミックコンデンサを作製した。
セラミック素原料として、BaCO3及びTiO2に加え、CaCO3を用意し、主成分組成が(Ba0.95Ca0.05)1.008TiO3となるように、これらセラミック素原料を秤量し、それ以外は〔試料番号2〕と同様の作製方法で試料番号7の積層セラミックコンデンサを作製した。
セラミック素原料として、BaCO3及びTiO2に加え、CaCO3を用意し、主成分組成が(Ba0.95Ca0.05)1.008TiO3となるように、これらセラミック素原料を秤量した。その後、解砕処理後に分級処理を行わなかった以外は、〔試料番号2〕と同様の作製方法で試料番号8の積層セラミックコンデンサを作製した。
試料番号1〜8の積層セラミックコンデンサの断面をTEM(Transmission Electron Microscope:透過型電子顕微鏡)で観察し、EDX(Energy Dispersion X-ray Spectroscopy;エネルギー分散型X線分析法)で副成分をマッピング分析し、主相粒子における副成分の固溶領域の断面積比を求めた。
誘電率ε、誘電損失tanδ、静電容量のAC電圧特性、温度特性、信頼性を評価した。
次いで、これら副成分材料をボールミル内で前記主成分粉末と混合し、その後、蒸発乾燥させてセラミック原料粉末を得た。

Claims (2)
- チタン酸バリウムを主成分とし、副成分としてLa、Ce、Pr、Nd、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Tm、Yb、Lu、及びYの群から選択された少なくとも1種からなる第1の添加元素Rと、Mn、Fe、Co、V、W、Cr、Mo、Cu、Al、及びMgの群から選ばれた少なくとも1種からなる第2の添加元素Mと、少なくともSiを含み、Si、Ti、Li、Na、B、Al、Ga、K、Zr、Ba、及びSrの群から選ばれた少なくとも1種からなる焼結助剤成分Xとを含有し、
組成が、一般式:100BamTiO3+aROn+bMOv+cXOw(ただしn、v及びwは、それぞれ前記第1の添加元素R、前記第2の添加元素M、及び前記焼結助剤成分Xの価数に応じて一義的に決まる正の数である。)で表わされ、
前記m、a、b、及びcは、それぞれ
0.995≦m≦1.030、
0.1≦a≦2.0、
0.1≦b≦3.0、
0.1≦c≦5.0
を満足し、
かつ、主相粒子における前記副成分の固溶領域が、断面積比で平均10%以下(0%を含む。)であることを特徴とする誘電体セラミック。 - 誘電体層と内部電極とが交互に積層されてなるセラミック焼結体を有すると共に、該セラミック焼結体の両端部に外部電極が形成され、該外部電極と前記内部電極とが電気的に接続された積層セラミックコンデンサにおいて、
前記誘電体層が、請求項1記載の誘電体セラミックで形成されていることを特徴とする積層セラミックコンデンサ。
