Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle headlamp.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a vehicle headlamp such as an automobile headlight, a so-called projector type lamp is known in which light emitted from a bulb is reflected by a reflector and projected to the front of the vehicle by a projection lens.
In this projector-type vehicle headlamp, the bulb is inserted and fixed from the rear side of the reflector with the bulb extending in the front-rear direction along the optical axis of the projection lens extending in the front-rear direction. The structure was common. In recent years, a vehicular headlamp having such a structure has a structure in which the lamp is made compact in the front-rear direction by adopting a structure in which the bulb is inserted and fixed to the reflector from the side so as to be orthogonal to the optical axis. It has been proposed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
By the way, in the reflective surface of a reflector, the optical axis side area | region located in the side of an optical axis is suitable for forming the diffusion pattern with a comparatively large diffusion angle among light distribution patterns. Therefore, in the above structure in which the bulb is inserted into the reflector from the side, if the bulb insertion hole is provided in the optical axis side region of the reflecting surface, the optical axis side region cannot be used as the reflecting surface. The brightness of the diffusion pattern cannot be ensured.
Therefore, in the vehicle headlamp described in
Specifically, in the vehicle headlamp described in
However, in the vehicle headlamp described in
More specifically, on the virtual screen on which the light distribution pattern is formed, the point a at the lower end of the lower reflective region Z2 passes through the point b at the boundary between the upper reflective region Z1 and the lower reflective region Z2, and When considering the reflected light path in the vertical direction to the point c at the upper end of the reflection region Z1, as shown in FIG. 8, the reflected light from the point a to the point b, the reflected light from the point b to the point c, Are continuous with each other while being folded at the upper end of the light distribution pattern corresponding to the optical axis Ax.
Therefore, in the vehicle headlamp described in
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a vehicle headlamp that can suppress unevenness in luminous intensity of a light distribution pattern in a configuration in which a bulb is inserted from the side of a reflector. .

A sub-reflector disposed on a side of the reflector and substantially forward in a direction along the valve axis of the valve;
A first additional reflection formed on the rear surface of the shade and formed in a spheroidal shape having a first focal point in the vicinity of the light emitting portion of the bulb and a second focal point at a predetermined position between the shade and the sub-reflector. Surface,
A vertical cross-sectional shape that is formed on the front surface of the sub-reflector and that is orthogonal to the left-right direction has the second focal point of the first additional reflecting surface as the first focal point and the vicinity of the rear edge of the shade as the second focal point. A second additional reflection surface that is formed in an elliptical shape and has a horizontal cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the vertical direction and formed in a parabolic shape with the vicinity of the second focus of the first additional reflection surface as a focal point;
Further comprising
The reflective surface of the reflector has an upper reflective area above the optical axis, and a lower reflective area below the optical axis,
The upper reflective area is
It is divided into an upper central region located at the approximate center in the left-right direction of the substantially lower half, and an upper peripheral region consisting of an upper portion of the upper central region and both side portions in the left-right direction,
The reflected light in the upper central region forms a light collection pattern that is relatively condensed in the center of the predetermined light distribution pattern,
The reflected light in the upper peripheral region forms a diffusion pattern that is diffused more widely than the light collection pattern in the predetermined light distribution pattern,
The lower reflective area is
While having a step at the boundary with the upper reflective region,
The reflected light in the lower reflection region forms an intermediate pattern of the predetermined light distribution pattern that has an intermediate diffusion degree between the light collection pattern and the diffusion pattern,
The first intermediate pattern formed by the reflected light in the substantially lower half of the lower reflective region and the diffused light wider than the first intermediate pattern by the reflected light in the substantially upper half of the lower reflective region. And the second intermediate pattern is superimposed so that the intermediate pattern is partially folded on the high light intensity side ,
Of the light emitted from the light emitting part of the bulb, the light incident on the first additional reflection surface is reflected backward by the first additional reflection surface and then reflected forward by the second additional reflection surface. In this case, a side pattern is formed by being inverted and projected forward through the projection lens to irradiate the side of the predetermined light distribution pattern .
According to the present invention, the reflection surface of the reflector that reflects the light from the bulb to the projection lens has an upper reflection area above the optical axis of the projection lens and a lower reflection area below the optical axis. Of these, the lower reflective area has a step at the boundary with the upper reflective area, and the partial pattern (intermediate pattern) due to the reflected light in the lower reflective area is partially on the high light intensity side. Since it is formed so as to be folded, in the state where the partial pattern by the reflected light in the lower reflection region is partially folded on the high light intensity side, another partial pattern by the reflected light in the upper reflection region (condensation pattern and (Diffusion pattern) . As a result, compared to the conventional case in which the upper reflection area and the lower reflection area continuously change each other's reflected light, the partial pattern caused by the reflected light in the lower reflective area is changed to another part caused by the reflected light in the upper reflective area. The change in luminous intensity applied to the pattern can be moderated. Therefore, in the configuration in which the bulb is inserted from the side of the reflector so that the bulb shaft extends substantially along the left-right direction, it is possible to suppress unevenness in light intensity of the light distribution pattern.

The
The
As shown in FIG. 3, a portion of the front surface of the
Of these, the upper reflective region R1 is composed of an upper central region R1a located at the approximate center in the left-right direction of the substantially lower half, and an upper peripheral region R1b composed of an upper portion of the upper central region R1a and both side portions in the left-right direction. And is further divided.
On the other hand, the lower reflection region R2 has a step at the boundary with the upper reflection region R1 located at the height of the optical axis Ax, and the upper end is located behind the lower end of the upper reflection region R1 ( (See FIG. 2). Further, as will be described later, the lower reflection region R2 is formed so that a partial pattern (intermediate pattern Pc described later) of the low beam of the low beam is partially folded on the high light intensity side. Yes.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the
A first

Next, formation of a light distribution pattern (low beam) by the
FIG. 4 is a diagram for explaining an optical path in the
As shown in FIG. 4, among the light emitted from the
At this time, as shown in FIGS. 5A to 5C, the reflected light in each reflection region of the
Here, as shown in FIG. 4, each reflected light of the upper reflection area R1 and the lower reflection area R2 has a step at the boundary between the lower reflection area R1 and the upper reflection area R1. It does not change continuously. The lower reflection region R2 is formed such that the intermediate pattern Pc by the reflected light from the lower reflection region R2 is partially folded on the high light intensity side. For these reasons, it is possible to moderate the change in luminous intensity at the boundary of each partial pattern by the upper reflection region R1 and the lower reflection region R2.
This point will be described in detail. On the virtual screen on which the low beam is formed, the lower reflection point R2 passes through the boundary point t between the upper reflection region R1 and the lower reflection region R2 from the lower point s of the lower reflection region R2. When considering the reflected light path in the vertical direction to the point u at the upper end of the reflective region R1, as shown in FIG. 6, the reflected light in the lower reflective region R2 from the point s to the point t is on the high light intensity side. The intermediate pattern Pc is formed so as to be partially overlapped. Specifically, the first intermediate pattern Pc1 formed by the reflected light in the substantially lower half (point s side) of the lower reflective region R2, and the substantially upper half (point t side) of the lower reflective region R2. The intermediate pattern Pc is formed by superimposing the second intermediate pattern Pc2 formed so as to diffuse more widely than the first intermediate pattern Pc1 by the reflected light. The reflected light in the upper reflective region R1 (upper central region R1a and upper peripheral region R1b) from the point t to the point u matches the intermediate pattern Pc with the high light intensity side end so that the condensing pattern Pa and A diffusion pattern Pb is formed.
Therefore, the intermediate pattern Pc is not uniformly diffused, but is folded so that the first intermediate pattern Pc1 is superimposed on the high light intensity side of the second intermediate pattern Pc2. As shown in the left part of FIG. 5, the change in luminous intensity from the intermediate pattern Pc to the light collection pattern Pa and the diffusion pattern Pb can be moderated.
On the other hand, of the light emitted from the
Then, a low beam P is formed as a combined pattern in which the above partial patterns Pa to Pd are superimposed, as shown in FIG.
As described above, according to the

前記バルブの発光部から出射された光のうち、前記第一付加反射面に入射した光は、当該第一付加反射面で後方へ反射され、前記第二付加反射面で前方へ反射された後に、前記投影レンズを通じて前方へ反転投影されて、前記所定の配光パターンのうちの側部に照射される側部パターンを形成することを特徴とする車両用前照灯。 A projection lens having an optical axis along the front-rear direction;
A valve having a valve shaft disposed behind the projection lens and spaced downward from the optical axis and extending substantially along the left-right direction;
A reflector having a reflecting surface that is disposed so as to cover the bulb from the rear and reflects the light emitted from the bulb forward toward the projection lens;
A shade disposed between the projection lens and the bulb in a state in which the vertical position of the upper edge is substantially coincident with the optical axis;
In a vehicle headlamp that forms a predetermined light distribution pattern in front of the vehicle,
A sub-reflector disposed on a side of the reflector and substantially forward in a direction along the valve axis of the valve;
A first additional reflection formed on the rear surface of the shade and formed in a spheroidal shape having a first focal point in the vicinity of the light emitting portion of the bulb and a second focal point at a predetermined position between the shade and the sub-reflector. Surface,
A vertical cross-sectional shape that is formed on the front surface of the sub-reflector and that is orthogonal to the left-right direction has the second focal point of the first additional reflecting surface as the first focal point and the vicinity of the rear edge of the shade as the second focal point. A second additional reflection surface that is formed in an elliptical shape and has a horizontal cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the vertical direction and formed in a parabolic shape with the vicinity of the second focus of the first additional reflection surface as a focal point;
The vehicle headlamp is characterized in that a side pattern that is inverted and projected forward through the projection lens to irradiate a side portion of the predetermined light distribution pattern is formed .
