Claims (4)
- 電解質の両側に一対の電極を配設した電解質・電極構造体と金属セパレータとが積層される燃料電池であって、
電解質・電極構造体の外周には、樹脂枠部材が一体に設けられ、前記樹脂枠部材には、積層方向に貫通し、燃料ガス、酸化剤ガス及び冷却媒体である各流体を流通させる複数の流体連通孔が設けられる一方、
前記金属セパレータは、前記樹脂枠部材の前記流体連通孔よりも内方に位置して一対の樹脂枠部材間に配置されるとともに、
一方の前記樹脂枠部材には、前記金属セパレータに先端が当接する内側シール部材と、
他方の前記樹脂枠部材に先端が当接し且つ前記内側シール部材と同一の高さ寸法に設定される外側シール部材と、
を有する二重シールが設けられることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、一方の前記樹脂枠部材は、前記内側シール部材が設けられる部位の厚さが、前記外側シール部材が設けられる部位の厚さよりも肉薄に設定されるとともに、
他方の前記樹脂枠部材は、前記内側シール部材に対向する部位から前記外側シール部材が当接する部位にわたって同一平面に形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池において、前記金属セパレータは、前記電解質・電極構造体を挟持する第1の金属セパレータ及び第2の金属セパレータを備え、
少なくとも前記第1の金属セパレータ又は前記第2の金属セパレータは、内部に冷却媒体流路が形成される2枚のプレートで構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項3記載の燃料電池において、2枚の前記プレートは、互いに外形が同一形状を有することを特徴とする燃料電池。
