The present invention relates to a composite of a sublimable metal element and an oxidizable metal element having a porous surface partitioned by a partition made of a metal oxide and a porous ceramic , and a method for producing the same.
Conventionally, as this kind of porous ceramic, as shown in Non-Patent Documents 1 and 2, porous alumina by anodization of Al is well known, and it is going to be widely used for holding nanomaterials, forming, etc. .
An object of the present invention is to provide a composite of a sublimable metal element and an oxidizable metal element and a porous ceramic having strength and heat resistance that cannot be obtained with such Al, and a method for producing the same. .
Invention 1 is a porous ceramic having a porous surface partitioned by partition walls made of a metal oxide, and includes a sublimable metal element made of one of the elements of Ir, Ru, Os, and Mo , Y, Ce It is made of an alloy of an oxidizing metal element that is one of the elements of Th, Zr, and Thr, and is manufactured by forming holes by sublimation removal of the sublimable metal.
Invention 2, invention 1 in a process for the preparation of alloys and porous ceramics composite of oxidizable metal elements and sublimable metal element, wherein sublimation alloyed with the sublimable metal element wherein the oxidizable metal elements The surface of the alloy is oxidized and sublimated by contacting an oxygen-containing gas heated to a temperature higher than the sublimation temperature of the conductive metal element.
In the present invention, since the size and shape of the hole are determined by the crystal grain size and shape of the base alloy, the shape and size of the hole depend on the sublimable metal to be used and the temperature conditions and solidification conditions at the time of creation of the alloy. The thickness can be adjusted arbitrarily, and can be applied to various uses.
Further, since the partition wall thickness of the hole can be adjusted by the content of the oxidizing metal element, the hole density can be adjusted.
Furthermore, the depth of the holes can be adjusted by adjusting the sublimation and oxidation time with the high-temperature oxygen-containing gas.
That is, according to the present invention, an alloy of a sublimable metal element and an oxidizable metal element and a porous ceramic composite capable of meeting various needs in the micro or nano size have been provided.
The present invention holds a multiphase alloy of a metal phase and an intermetallic compound phase in an oxidizing atmosphere, and utilizes the oxidation / sublimation of the metal phase to thereby provide an alloy of a sublimable metal element and an oxidizable metal element, and a porous ceramic. To create a complex .
As schematically shown in FIG. 7, the pore diameter and form of the porous ceramic depend on the size and form of the Ir phase before the oxidation treatment. That is, by controlling the alloy structure, the pore diameter and form of the porous ceramic can be controlled. In this claim, the alloy was produced by the arc melting method, but if a method capable of realizing a faster cooling rate is used, the size of the Ir phase can be reduced, and as a result, the porous ceramic having a smaller pore diameter can be obtained. Creation is possible.
Moreover, as shown in FIG. 3, the structure can be coarsened by heat-treating the alloy before the oxidation treatment, and the pore diameter can be increased by this method. At the same time, by controlling the alloy composition and positively utilizing Ir-phase dendrite growth, honeycomb ceramics having different pore diameters and wall thicknesses can be created.
Since it is generally known as an alloy structure creation technique that two kinds of metal elements can be alloyed without impairing the original properties, the metal elements are selected and combined based on the present invention, and Ir— It can be easily inferred from the prior art that functions similar to those of the present invention can be achieved by combinations other than the combination of Y. That is, based on the technical idea of the present invention, using an oxide metal other than Ir, such as Ru, Os, or Mo, such as Ru, Os, or Mo, or ceramic other than Y, such as Ce, Th, or Zr, by oxidation. The use of elements is also within the scope of the present invention.
In addition, when using an oxide metal element and a sublimable metal element that do not form a solid solution with each other, the pore shape based on the crystal made of the sublimable metal element can be made clearer without interfering with the original properties of each other. And the control of the hole shape and size is further facilitated.
As shown in FIG. 8, when the Ir—Y binary alloy is exposed to the atmosphere at 11 × 10 2 ° C., the weight decreases according to the linear rule. This suggests that the oxidation reaction of the alloy is rate-limiting to the oxidation and volatilization of the Ir phase. From this, the pore depth resulting from the oxidation and volatilization of the Ir phase can be controlled by the oxidation time.
According to Non-Patent Document 3, the rate of weight loss per unit area of Ir in the high temperature atmosphere, 10 × 10 2 ℃ at 1.81 × 10 -6 kg / m 2 / s, 12 × 10 4 in 2 ℃ .56 × 10 −6 kg / m 2 / s. That is, if the atmospheric temperature is increased to 12 × 10 2 ° C., the oxidation time required to obtain the same pore depth can be shortened by about 40%.
In other words, any sublimable metal element is not limited to Ir because it is considered that a similar sublimation phenomenon occurs.
In the Ir-M system (M is an oxidizing metal element), the conditions under which the porous ceramic is formed by the mechanism schematically shown in FIG.
1, M element is hardly dissolved in Ir phase.
2, M element is to form an oxide with a high melting point. From this, an effect similar to that of Y can be expected if it is an element that becomes ceramic by oxidation of Ce, Th, Zr or the like.
Ir powder raw material (purity 99.99%) and ribbon-shaped Y raw material (purity 99.9%) were weighed to the weights shown in Table 1. The weighed raw material was melted in an argon atmosphere using a non-consumable electrode type arc melting furnace. Thus, five types of alloys of Ir-2 mol% Y, Ir-5 mol% Y, Ir-12 mol% Y, Ir-20 mol% Y, Ir-30 mol% Y were created.
FIG. 1 is a scanning electron microscope image showing the structure of an Ir-2 mol% Y alloy, and FIG. 2 is a structure of an Ir-12 mol% Y alloy. In the figure, the bright phase is the Ir phase and the dark phase is the Ir 3 Y phase. The two alloys are two-phase alloys of Ir phase and Ir 3 Y phase.
In the Ir-2 mol% Y alloy (FIG. 1), the Ir phase is solidified and grown as a primary crystal with a dendrite arm diameter of about 10 to 20 μm, and subsequently, a eutectic structure of Ir phase and Ir 3 Y phase is formed. . The Ir phase in the eutectic structure has a rod-like form with a diameter of 1 μm or less.
In Ir-12 mol% Y (FIG. 2), the dendritic Ir phase seen in FIG. 1 is not formed, and a eutectic structure of Ir phase and Ir 3 Y phase is formed on the entire surface of the sample.
FIG. 3 shows the structure of an Ir-12 mol% Y alloy prepared by arc melting in an argon atmosphere and then heat-treated at 17 × 10 2 ° C. for about 100 hours (25/6 days) in a vacuum. In the as-dissolved Ir-12 mol% Y alloy shown in FIG. 2, the eutectic Ir phase has a size of about 1 μm, but is coarsened to about 3 to 5 μm after the heat treatment.
That is, the crystal size can be adjusted by the temperature and time during the heat treatment.
Table 2 shows the results of analyzing the constituent phases of the alloy and their concentrations using an electron beam microanalyzer. From Table 2, Y does not dissolve at all in the Ir phase, whereas about 24 mol% of Y dissolves in the Ir 3 Y phase. That is, in the Ir—Y alloy, the oxidation / volatility of the Ir phase is not affected by Y.
4 and FIG. 5 show that the Ir-2 mol% Y and Ir-12 mol% Y alloys shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 were cut and mirror-polished, and then were subjected to about 214 hours (107/107) in an atmosphere of 11 × 10 2 ° C. 12) shows the result of observation of the porous oxide formed on the alloy surface with a scanning electron microscope when held. In the Ir-2 mol% Y alloy (FIG. 4), the Ir phase solidified and grown in a dendrite form volatilizes by oxidation and forms pores. According to (Non-Patent Document 3), Ir forms highly volatile IrO 3 in an oxidizing atmosphere, and the sublimation of IrO 3 becomes remarkable at 10 × 10 2 ° C or higher. On the other hand, the Ir 3 Y phase forms a solid oxide and remains on the alloy surface. As a result, a honeycomb-shaped oxide having a pore diameter of about 10 to 20 μm is formed. In Ir-12 mol% Y (FIG. 5), the fine Ir phase in the eutectic structure seen in FIG. 2 is volatilized by oxidation, and a porous oxide having a pore diameter of 1 μm or less is formed on the entire surface of the sample.
FIG. 6 is a diagram in which an oxide formed on the surface of an Ir-12 mol% Y alloy held in an air at 11 × 10 2 ° C. for 305 hours is identified by an X-ray diffraction test using Cu—Kα. Since the diffraction peak coincides with Y 2 Ir 2 O 7 (cubic crystal, lattice constant a = 1.018 nm), the oxide formed on the surface is Y 2 Ir 2 O 7 type composed of Ir, Y, O. Judged to be oxide.
FIG. 7 is a diagram schematically showing the formation process of the porous ceramic in the Ir—Y binary alloy. Ir 3 Y forms a Y 2 Ir 2 O 7 type solid oxide composed of Ir, Y, and O in an oxidizing atmosphere. On the other hand, the Ir phase forms IrO 3 and sublimates. As a result, a porous ceramic is formed on the alloy surface.
FIG. 8 shows per unit area generated when an Ir-2 mol% Y alloy, an Ir-5 mol% Y alloy, an Ir-12 mol% Y alloy, and an Ir-20 mol% Y alloy are exposed to the atmosphere of 11 × 10 2 ° C. It is the figure which plotted the weight change amount of to the exposure time.
All alloys follow the process shown in FIG. 7 to form a porous ceramic on the surface, and the weight decreases linearly with time. The weight reduction rate per unit area is a value from 2.4 × 10 −6 kg / m 2 / s to 2.9 × 10 −6 kg / m 2 / s.
In FIG. 8, the sublimation state of Ir single metal not containing Y is shown as a comparative example.
Although some differences are observed in the sublimation speed, the Y-containing one maintains the same tendency as that of the Ir-only one, so it is determined that the Y sublimation is not affected by the Y-containing one. did.
