Description
− ガラス状炭素基板(glassy carbon substrate)と、
− このガラス状炭素基板の上に堆積された中間層と、
− この中間層を覆う、鉛を含むペーストの活性層と、
を備える。
− 銅又はニッケルの金属層で覆われたアクリロニトリルブタジエンスチレン(ABS)で形成された基板材料と、
− この金属層の上に堆積された鉛/鉛ベースの合金層と、
− この鉛/鉛ベースの合金層を浸食から保護する電気伝導性且つ耐侵食性のポリアニリン層と、
を備える。
− RVC基板の表面が頑丈であった場合、形成されたタブとフレームとは電池の比エネルギーを実質的に減少することがある、
− 対応する電池の内部抵抗は、網状のガラス質炭素の低いオーミック抵抗により高くなることがある、
− 網状のガラス質炭素はもろく、電池のパフォーマンスは、振動及び他の種類の機械的ストレスの下でのオペレーションの間、期待通りにならないことがある、
− 鉛又は鉛−スズ合金に覆われたRVC基板の貼り付けオペレーションは、他の従来のグリッドの貼り付けオペレーションと比べて著しく難しい、
− 活性ブロックへの圧縮の印加はほとんど不可能であり、なぜなら、網状の構造は弾力性に乏しいからである。圧縮を行わないことにより、深い放電又は高いレートのサイクルにおいて、早くからの正極活性材料の軟化と支持グリッドからの正極活性材料の剥離とを導き、且つ、キャパシティの減少を導く。
− 熱硬化性樹脂のプラスチックモールディングによりガラス状炭素基板4を所定の形状に形成し、次いで、不活性雰囲気中で熱硬化性樹脂の炭化を行い、
− ガラス状炭素基板4の表面全体を鉛又は鉛ベースの合金により電気めっきをすることにより中間層5を形成し、及び、
− 鉛を含むペーストで中間層5を覆うことによって活性層5を形成する。
− 例えばサンドブラスト又はそれに似た処理といった、基板4の表面を粗面化するための機械的処理。実際には、中間層5の質は機械的処理によりある程度決定される。
− アルカリ溶液を除去するためのウォーターリンス。
− 250g・L−1のCuSO4・5H2Oと70g・L−1のH2SO4とを備える電気めっき浴、
− 40mA/cm2のカソード電流密度、
− 20℃から25℃の間の温度。

Claims (9)
- 鉛酸電池用電極の製造方法であって、
少なくとも以下のステップである、
− 所定の形状の熱硬化性樹脂のプラスチックモールディングによりガラス状炭素基板(4)を形成し、続いて不活性雰囲気中で前記熱硬化性樹脂の炭化を行うステップであって、前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)の孔の体積は、前記ガラス状炭素基板の見かけ上の体積の0%よりも大きく10%までの間である、ステップと、
− 中間層(5)を形成するステップであって、前記中間層(5)は鉛−スズ合金で形成され、前記合金中のスズのパーセントは2.5重量%であり、前記中間層(5)を前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)の表面の少なくとも一部の上に形成し、その形成を電解質を用いた電気めっきのオペレーションにより行い、前記電解質は、4−ヒドロキシベンゼンスルホン酸の鉛(II)塩と4−ヒドロキシベンゼンスルホン酸のスズ(II)塩とp−フェノールスルホン酸とを備える、ステップと、
− 鉛を含むペーストの活性層(3)を形成するステップであって、その形成を、前記中間層(5)を前記鉛を含むペーストで覆うことにより行うステップと、
を備える、ことを特徴とする電極を製造する方法。 - 前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)の形成に続いて、前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)の表面処理ステップを行い、前記表面処理ステップには、機械的処理と電気化学エッチングとウォーターリンスとが含まれる、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電極を製造する方法。
- 前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)はタブ(7)を備え、銅による前記タブ(7)の電気めっきは、前記中間層(5)の形成の前に行われる、ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の電極を製造する方法。
- 前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)の孔の体積は、前記ガラス状炭素基板の見かけ上の体積の1%から6%の間である、ことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1つに記載の電極を製造する方法。
- 前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)の前記所定の形状はくし形である、ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1つに記載の電極を製造する方法。
- 前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)は複数のブランチ(4a)を備え、前記ブランチは、円形、長方形、正方形又は楕円形の断面を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の電極を製造する方法。
- 前記ガラス状炭素基板(4)は1mmから3mmの間の厚さを有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1つに記載の電極を製造する方法。

− 4g・L−1のゼラチンと、
の混合により得られる、ことを特徴とする請求項1から8のいずれか1つに記載の電極を製造する方法。
