Description
[実施例1]
実施例として図2に示されている形状の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を作製した。図2(a)には平面図が、図2(b)にはA−A’断面図が示されている。
DNTPD(98mol%)とF4TCNQ(2mol%)との混合物が濃度2重量%で溶解されたクロロホルム溶液をスピンコートで塗布することにより第1混合物層3を形成した。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
第1混合物層3の層厚を20nmとした。また、第2混合物層4aと置き換えて電子注入層4bをLiで形成し、層厚を1nmとした。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
NPDと酸化モリブデン(MoO3)との共蒸着(モル比1:1)により、層厚15nmとなるように第1混合物層3を形成した。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
陰極2として、スパッタにより層厚100nmのアルミニウム層を形成した。また、IZOをスパッタすることにより陽極6を層厚100nmで形成した。なお、有機エレクトロルミネッセンスのパターン形成は実施例1と同じである。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
DNTPD(98mol%)とF4TCNQ(2mol%)との混合物を共蒸着することにより第1混合物層3を形成した。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
比較例1として基板1上に陽極6が形成されている、実施例1とは逆順に積層された有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を作製した。
第2混合物層4a及び電子注入層4bのいずれの層も形成しなかった。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
第1混合物層3を形成しなかった。また、第2混合物層4aの層厚を20nmとした。その他は実施例1と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
第1混合物層3を形成しなかった。また、陰極2としてスパッタにより層厚100nmのアルミニウム層を形成した。その他は実施例5と同様の材料及び方法で、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を得た。
実施例及び比較例の各有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子に10mA/cm2の電流を通電して、電圧及び輝度を測定した。また、封止を行わない状態で有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を温度23℃、湿度50%の大気雰囲気下に12時間放置し、再度点灯した際の発光面の状態(ダークスポットの有無及び発光面積)を観察した。また、各有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子のサンプル5つについて、N2雰囲気下で30mA/cm2の電流を通電して点灯させ、200時間後にショートせずに光っているサンプルの数を検査した。

Claims (3)
- 陽極と基板の表面に形成された陰極との間に有機発光層を備えてなる有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子であって、陰極と有機発光層との間に、電子受容物質及び当該電子受容物質に対して電子を供与することが可能な有機物を含み塗布により前記陰極に直接接触して形成される第1混合物層と、電子供与物質及び当該電子供与物質から電子を受容することが可能な有機物を含み蒸着により形成される第2混合物層、又は、仕事関数3.7eV以下の金属からなり蒸着により形成される電子注入層とが、真空蒸着又はスパッタリングによって形成された陰極側からこの順で積層されて備えられていることを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 第1混合物層の厚みは5〜80nmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 陽極と基板の表面に形成された陰極との間に有機発光層を備えてなる有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の製造方法であって、陰極と、電子受容物質及び当該電子受容物質に対して電子を供与することが可能な有機物を含む第1混合物層と、電子供与物質及び当該電子供与物質から電子を受容することが可能な有機物を含む第2混合物層、又は、仕事関数3.7eV以下の金属からなる電子注入層と、有機発光層とを順次に積層して形成する工程を含み、前記陰極は真空蒸着又はスパッタリングによって形成されるものであり、前記第1混合物層は塗布によって前記陰極に直接接触して形成されるものであり、前記第2混合物層又は前記電子注入層は蒸着によって形成されるものであることを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の製造方法。
