Description
The present invention relates to a rack and pinion type steering device, and more particularly to a device that restricts movement of a rack shaft when an external force is applied to a tire.
In a vehicle equipped with a rack and pinion type steering device, various external forces are exerted on the tires of the vehicle while the vehicle is running. The external force exerted on the tire is transmitted to the steering wheel via the rack shaft, pinion shaft, etc., especially when a relatively strong external force is exerted on the tire, such as when driving on a rough road. It is desirable not to transmit the generated external force to the steering wheel as much as possible. The following Patent Documents 1 to 4 suppress transmission of an external force exerted on the tire to the steering wheel by restricting movement of the rack shaft in the axial direction.
Incidentally, in recent years, many vehicles equipped with an electric power steering device have been put into practical use. Even in such vehicles, a relatively large external force may be exerted on the tire due to the tire hitting the curb. In such a case, the tire is rotated (steered) in response to the force from the curb, and accordingly, the rack shaft moves to the stroke end. At this time, the steering shaft rotated by the movement of the rack shaft stops rotating as the rack shaft stops moving, but the rotor (rotor) and the steering wheel of the electric power steering device that rotates together with the steering shaft are inertial. Tries to keep turning. For this reason, it is necessary to secure the strength of the steering system, such as increasing the strength of the steering shaft and the gear portion, in order to receive the rotational torque from the rotor and the steering wheel, which causes an increase in cost.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problem, and a rack-and-pinion type steering device in which the movement of the rack shaft is limited to reduce the speed of the rack shaft and the rotational torque received from the rotor or the like is reduced. The purpose is to provide.
The present invention has been made in order to achieve the above object, the invention according to claim 1, a rack and pinion steering apparatus comprising a rack housing for movably accommodating the rack shaft in the axial direction, the rack a rack bush for holding the rack shaft with respect to the housing, and the rack shaft side friction increasing member provided on the outer surface of the rack shaft, provided on the inner surface of the rack housing, said rack shaft in the axial direction Housing-side frictional force that increases the frictional force when the rack shaft moves in the axial direction with respect to the rack housing by abutting against the rack-shaft side frictional force increasing member when moved in a vertical direction and increasing member, when the rack shaft moves in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, imparting a force against movement of the rack shaft in the rack bushing Comprising a drag applying member that, the, the rack shaft side friction force increasing member may be in the rotation range of the tire, but always arranged so as to face the at least a portion of the housing-side friction increasing member It is comprised by the rack and pinion type steering device characterized by this.
According to this configuration, when an external force is applied to the tire, the force applied to the tire is transmitted to the rack shaft. When the vehicle moves forward, an external force is applied to the tire from the front, so that the rack shaft is moved in the axial direction by the external force and is moved in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the rack shaft (rear of the vehicle). At this time, the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member and the housing side frictional force increasing member that increase the frictional force when the rack shaft moves in the axial direction by contacting the outer surface of the rack shaft and the inner surface of the rack housing are provided. Since it is provided, the movement of the rack shaft in the axial direction is suppressed. Therefore, the speed of the rack shaft when the rack shaft reaches the stroke end can be lowered, and the rotation speed of the member rotating together with the rack shaft is also lowered, so there is no need to increase the strength of the steering system and the cost is increased. Can be avoided. The rack-side frictional force increasing member and the housing-side frictional force increasing member configured as described above come into contact with each other when the rack shaft moves in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, but the rack shaft is perpendicular to the axial direction. When the rack shaft does not move in the proper direction, the two do not come into contact with each other.
In addition, according to the above configuration, since the drag application member is provided that applies a force that opposes the movement of the rack shaft when the rack shaft is moved in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction by an external force, the drag application member is provided. The amount of movement of the rack shaft in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction can be adjusted by adjusting the magnitude of the drag. Thus, when the external force is relatively small, the rack shaft is allowed to move in the axial direction, and when the external force is relatively large, the rack shaft is moved in the axial direction to the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member and the housing side frictional force. It can be suppressed by the increasing member. Since the rack bushing holds the rack shaft, it is difficult for the rack bushing itself to provide sufficient resistance against movement in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the rack shaft. By applying a force to the rack, the amount of movement of the rack shaft in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction can be adjusted.
Further, according to the above configuration, the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member is always opposed to the housing side frictional force increasing member in the tire rotatable range, so that the steering wheel is steered to the tire. Even when an external force is exerted, the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member can be reliably brought into contact with the housing side frictional force increasing member, and the movement of the rack shaft in the axial direction can be reliably suppressed.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the rack and pinion type steering according to the first aspect, the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member is disposed in a recess provided in the inner surface of the rack bush. Configured by the device.
According to this configuration, since the rack shaft moves in the axial direction in a state where the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member is disposed in the recess, contact between the rack shaft side frictional force increasing member and the rack bush is avoided. The
According to the above configuration, the speed of the rack shaft when the rack shaft reaches the stroke end can be reduced, and it is not necessary to increase the strength of the steering system, so that an increase in cost can be avoided. . In addition, when the rack shaft moves in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction due to external force, the amount of movement of the rack shaft in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction is applied to the rack bush because of the force that opposes the movement of the rack shaft. Can be adjusted.
Embodiments for carrying out the present invention will be described in detail below. FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing an overall configuration of a rack and pinion

また、図2(b)は図2(a)のb−b線断面図、図2(c)は図2(a)のc−c線断面図である。

A rack shaft
A rack housing
Next, the operation of the first embodiment of the present invention will be described. The rack-and-
On the other hand, when the external force exerted on the
Accordingly, the rotational speed of the rotor and the steering wheel 4 of the electric power steering mechanism that is rotated by the movement of the
In the present embodiment, the rack shaft
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a portion of the
In FIG. 3, the
Next, the operation of the second exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the rack and pinion
Further, in the present embodiment, the
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a portion of the
In FIG. 4, a rack shaft side
Next, the operation of the third embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the rack and pinion
Furthermore, in this embodiment, since the concave and convex portions are integrally formed on the
