Description
BaCO3+ TiO2 → BaTiO3 + CO2
BaTiO3の誘電体特性を高めるためには、先ずBaTiO3 粒子を細かくすることが必要である。上記の反応は固相反応であり、その際先ず高温でBaCO3が分解してBaOが生成し、BaOがTiO2粒子中を拡散固溶してBaTiO3になると言われている。従ってBaTiO3粒子の大きさはTiO2粒子の大きさに支配されることになる。

20kg/hrの四塩化チタンを、25Nm3/hr(Nは理想気体の標準状態に換算したことを意味する。以下同じ。)の窒素ガスで希釈し、1100℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に55Nm3/hrの水蒸気を1100℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。外熱式ロータリーキルンは粉体の撹拌のために、内側にかきあげばねが設置された構造となっている。ロータリーキルンは400℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約1時間となるよう調整されている。
一方で、ロータリーキルンにおける粉体の出口からは、キルン内を通過する二酸化チタン質量の20質量%の水蒸気を導入し、粉体と水蒸気とを向流接触させた。なお、導入する水蒸気温度はあらかじめ120℃から200℃程度に加温されている。
5kg/hrの四塩化チタンを、25Nm3/hrの窒素ガスで希釈し、1100℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に55Nm3/hrの水蒸気を1100℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。外熱式ロータリーキルンは粉体の撹拌のために、内側にかきあげばねが設置された構造となっている。ロータリーキルンは400℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約1時間となるよう調整されている。
150kg/hrの四塩化チタンを900℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に30Nm3/hrの水蒸気を900℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。外熱式ロータリーキルンは粉体の撹拌のために、内側にかきあげばねが設置された構造となっている。ロータリーキルンは400℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約45分となるよう調整されている。
70kg/hrの四塩化チタンを、20Nm3/hrの窒素ガスで希釈し、900℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に50Nm3/hrの水蒸気を900℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。外熱式ロータリーキルンは粉体の撹拌のために、内側にかきあげばねが設置された構造となっている。ロータリーキルンは450℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約45分となるよう調整されている。
160kg/hrの四塩化チタンを、23Nm3/hrの窒素ガスで希釈し、1050℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に28Nm3/hrの水蒸気を1050℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。外熱式ロータリーキルンは粉体の撹拌のために、内側にかきあげばねが設置された構造となっている。ロータリーキルンは450℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約45分となるよう調整されている。
実施例1で用いた二酸化チタンに液滴径30μmの水滴を噴霧し、樹脂袋に充填・封緘後、室温25±3℃に調整した場所に24時間以上保管した後、その粉を直径10cmのガラス製シャーレに厚さが均等になるように粉末5gをいれ、20℃、相対湿度80%の環境中に5時間静置し、放置前の質量を基準にした質量変化率を求めたところ、1.4質量%であった。
実施例4で用いた二酸化チタンに液滴径30μmの水滴を噴霧し、樹脂袋に充填・封緘後、室温25±3℃に調整した場所に24時間以上保管した後、その粉を直径10cmのガラス製シャーレに厚さが均等になるように粉末5gをいれ、20℃、相対湿度80%の環境中に5時間静置し、放置前の質量を基準にした質量変化率を求めたところ、0.83質量%であった。
実施例5で用いた二酸化チタンに液滴径30μmの水滴を噴霧し、樹脂袋に充填・封緘後、室温25±3℃に調整した場所に24時間以上保管した後、その粉を直径10cmのガラス製シャーレに厚さが均等になるように粉末5gをいれ、20℃、相対湿度80%の環境中に5時間静置し、放置前の質量を基準にした質量変化率を求めたところ、0.74質量%であった。
180kg/hrの四塩化チタンを900℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に30Nm3/hrの酸素を900℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。外熱式ロータリーキルンは粉体の撹拌のために、内側にかきあげばねが設置された構造となっている。ロータリーキルンは350℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約50分となるよう調整されている。
70kg/hrの四塩化チタンを、25Nm3/hrの窒素ガスで希釈し、900℃に予熱し、反応管に導入した。同様に30Nm3/hrの水蒸気を550℃に加熱して反応管に導入し、四塩化チタンガスとの反応により二酸化チタン微粒子を得た。この微粒子をポリテトラフルオロエチレン製バグフィルターにて捕集した後、外熱式ロータリーキルンに導入した。ロータリーキルンは120℃に温度調整されており、高温帯の長さ、回転速度、キルン設置角度の調整により、粉体の滞留時間が約45分となるよう調整されている。

- 四塩化チタンを含有するガス及び酸化性ガスを高温反応させ、これに水蒸気を接触させる気相法で製造された微粒子二酸化チタンを樹脂袋に梱包する際に、BET比表面積が10〜200m2/gである微粒子二酸化チタンに液滴径5〜500μmの水滴を噴霧し、該液滴径5〜500μmの水滴が担持された微粒子二酸化チタンを樹脂袋に封緘し、微粒子二酸化チタンを温度5〜50℃、相対湿度60〜95%の条件下に保管することにより、該保管された微粒子二酸化チタンが、直径10cmのガラス製シャーレに厚さが均等になるように2g以上5g以下の微粒子二酸化チタンを入れ、20℃、相対湿度80%の環境中に5時間静置した場合に、放置前の質量を基準にした質量変化率が、−5質量%以上5質量%以下であることを特徴とする微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 四塩化チタンを含有するガス及び酸化性ガスを高温反応させ、これに水蒸気を接触させる気相法で製造された微粒子二酸化チタンを温度5〜50℃、相対湿度60〜95%の条件下に保管することにより、直径10cmのガラス製シャーレに厚さが均等になるように2g以上5g以下の微粒子二酸化チタンを入れ、20℃、相対湿度80%の環境中に5時間静置した場合に、放置前の質量を基準にした質量変化率が、−5質量%以上5質量%以下である微粒子二酸化チタンを製造することを特徴とする微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管された微粒子二酸化チタンの90%累積質量粒度分布径(D90)が2.2μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管された微粒子二酸化チタンの下記(1)式に表されるロジン・ラムラー式による分布定数nが1.7以上3.5以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。

〔(1)式中、Dは粒径を表し、Rは全粒子質量に対するD(粒径)より大きな粒子の質量百分率であり、nは分布定数を示す。〕 - 前記保管された微粒子二酸化チタンのBET比表面積をα(m2/g)、900℃に保持した電気炉内で1時間灼熱したときの質量減少率(以下、灼熱減量と呼ぶ)をX(質量%)とした場合、その灼熱減量Xが(2)式により表される範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。

〔(2)式中、βは、900℃に保持した電気炉内で1時間灼熱した後の粉体のBET比表面積(m2/g)を示す。〕 - 前記保管された微粒子二酸化チタンのBET比表面積をα(m2/g)、900℃に保持した電気炉内で1時間灼熱したときの質量減少率(以下、灼熱減量と呼ぶ)をX(質量%)とした場合、その灼熱減量Xが(2’)式により表される範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。

〔(3’)式中、βは、900℃に保持した電気炉内で1時間灼熱した後の粉体のBET比表面積(m2 /g)を示す。〕 - 前記保管された微粒子二酸化チタンのFe、Al、Sの含有量が各々10質量ppm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管された微粒子二酸化チタンの粉体におけるClの含有量が灼熱減量の50質量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管される微粒子二酸化チタンの製造が、四塩化チタンとその1モルに対して0.1〜20モルの不活性ガスを含有するガス及び酸化性ガスを用い、それらのガスの800℃以上1100℃未満の高温滞留時間を0.1秒以下として、四塩化チタンを含有するガスを高温酸化して微粒子二酸化チタンを製造する第1工程と、加熱炉中で転動させながら該微粒子二酸化チタン100質量%に対して1〜60質量%の水蒸気を接触させ、150〜500℃の温度で0.5〜3時間未満加熱することにより、該微粒子二酸化チタンに対して脱塩素を行なうと同時に吸着水分を増加させる第2工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管される微粒子二酸化チタンの製造において、酸化性ガスが水蒸気であることを特徴とする請求項11記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管される微粒子二酸化チタンの製造において、水蒸気が、四塩化チタンガス1モルに対し、2モル以上30モル以下であることを特徴とする請求項12記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管される微粒子二酸化チタンの製造において、四塩化チタンを含有するガス及び酸化性ガスを反応管に供給する予熱温度が、それぞれ、600℃以上1,100℃未満である請求項11〜13のいずれか1項に記載の微粒子二酸化チタンの製造方法。
- 前記保管される微粒子二酸化チタンの製造において、第2工程が、加熱炉中に微粒子二酸化チタンの1質量%以上50質量%以下となるよう水蒸気を導入し、水蒸気と微粒子二酸化チタンとを向流接触させることを特徴とする請求項11〜14のいずれか1項に記載の微粒二酸化チタン粉末の製造方法。
