Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a rubber composition, a rubber molded body, a heat dissipation sheet, and a method for producing the same.
In recent years, various rubber molded bodies have been used for the purpose of imparting performances such as desired hardness, high thermal conductivity, and electromagnetic shielding properties, and are applied to, for example, applications of heat dissipation sheets. This heat-dissipating sheet is installed between a heat-generating body such as an electronic component and a heat-dissipating body such as a heat sink or heat pipe, and diffuses heat. It is used for electrical equipment and electronic parts such as plasma displays, transistors, capacitors, and personal computers. When applied to an IC, a CPU, etc., the generated heat can be dissipated and problems caused by heat (such as unstable operation of components) can be prevented.
As such a heat-dissipating sheet, a heat-dissipating sheet in which a heat-conductive filler is added to a matrix resin has been proposed in the past, and a heat-dissipating sheet composed of a composition in which heat-sensitive spherical magnesia is appropriately combined with granular alumina in the matrix resin, boron nitride , Heat dissipation sheets using thermally conductive fillers such as aluminum nitride and aluminum oxide, oxide particles such as aluminum oxide and titanium oxide, nitride particles such as boron nitride, carbide particles such as silicon carbide, metals such as copper and aluminum A thermally conductive sheet using particles is disclosed. However, since the thermal conductivity is low, a high heat dissipation effect cannot be expected.
An object of this invention is to provide the rubber composition which can manufacture the rubber molding which is low hardness and has high heat conductivity in view of the said present condition. Moreover, it aims at providing the rubber molding using the rubber composition, a heat radiating sheet, and its manufacturing method.

In the rubber composition, the content of the vapor-grown carbon fiber is 20% by volume or more in the rubber composition, and the content of the oil component is the content of the vapor-grown carbon fiber on a volume basis. It is also the manufacturing method of the heat-radiation sheet characterized by being 1.5 to 4 times the quantity.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
The rubber composition of the present invention contains a rubber component, a specific amount of vapor grown carbon fiber, and a specific amount of oil component. Therefore, by using this rubber composition, it is possible to produce a rubber molded body having low hardness (high flexibility) and high thermal conductivity. Moreover, the bleeding phenomenon can also be prevented.
In order to achieve low hardness (high flexibility) and high thermal conductivity in rubber elastic bodies, it is conceivable to add a large amount of oil in rubber, but so-called bleed phenomenon occurs in ordinary rubber compositions. Therefore, it cannot be blended (impregnated) in a large amount.
In contrast, when a certain amount of vapor-grown carbon fiber is blended in the rubber composition, the blended vapor-grown carbon fiber can retain a large amount of oil component due to its properties. A large amount of oil component can be blended (impregnated) while preventing the phenomenon.
Accordingly, when a rubber molded body is produced from such a rubber composition, high thermal conductivity can be expressed by orienting a certain amount of vapor-grown carbon fiber in a certain direction in the rubber molded body, A large amount of oil components can impart low hardness (flexibility) to the rubber molded body. Therefore, by using this rubber composition, a heat dissipation sheet having good heat dissipation can be obtained.
Moreover, since the obtained rubber molded body is blended with vapor-grown carbon fiber, it can be expected to exhibit good electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding properties.

(Rubber composition)
The rubber composition of the present invention contains a rubber component, a vapor growth carbon fiber and an oil component.
The rubber component is not particularly limited, and conventionally known rubber components can be used. For example, chloroprene rubber, natural rubber, isoprene rubber, nitrile rubber, styrene / butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, ethylene-α-olefin elastomer, Examples thereof include ethylene / propylene rubber, chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, acrylic rubber, urethane rubber, and hydrogenated acrylonitrile rubber. Rubber, partially halogenated products thereof, and the like. The α-olefin excluding ethylene is preferably propylene, butene, hexene or octene. As the diene, a non-conjugated diene such as 1,4-hexadiene, dicyclopentadiene or ethylidene norbornene is usually used as appropriate.

And the like.
The vapor-grown carbon fiber (vapor-grown nanofiber, VGCF, etc.) used in the present invention is a known carbon fiber that can be produced by a vapor-phase growth method. By using the vapor growth carbon fiber, high thermal conductivity can be exhibited in the rubber molded body, and good heat dissipation can be expressed in the heat dissipation sheet.
Examples of the method for producing vapor-grown carbon fiber by the vapor growth method include a so-called substrate method and fluidized vapor phase method. In the substrate method, a catalyst metal (for example, a transition metal or a transition metal compound) is supported on a substrate, and a hydrocarbon gas that is a carbon source gas is circulated on the substrate while being heated to a high temperature. This is a method for producing carbon fiber. The fluidized gas phase method uses a carbon fiber in a space by vaporizing a metal compound that can be a catalytic metal and a carbon compound that is a carbon source without using a substrate and circulating it in a high-temperature reaction tube. It is a method of generating.

In the present invention, it is preferable to use a vapor-grown carbon fiber having an average diameter of 50 to 300 nm. Thereby, a rubber molded body having low hardness and high thermal conductivity can be obtained. If it is less than 50 nm, it may be difficult to uniaxially orient the fiber in the rubber, and if it exceeds 300 nm, the interfacial bonding force between the rubber and the fiber may be weakened. The average diameter is more preferably 100 to 200 nm.
The vapor-grown carbon fiber preferably has an aspect ratio (average) of 10 to 150. Thereby, a rubber molded body having low hardness and high thermal conductivity can be obtained. If it is less than 10, the fibers may be difficult to be uniaxially oriented in the rubber, and if it exceeds 150, dispersion of the fibers in the rubber may be deteriorated. The aspect ratio is more preferably 40-100.
The average diameter and aspect ratio of the vapor-grown carbon fiber can be measured by observing the vapor-grown carbon fiber with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Specifically, SEM photography is performed, the diameter and aspect ratio (major axis / fiber diameter) of arbitrary several (five) carbon fibers are measured, and the value obtained by this arithmetic average value.

Oil, chlorinated biphenyl oil, silicone oil and the like. When EPDM rubber is used, paraffinic mineral oil is preferable, and when NR rubber or the like is used, naphthenic or aromatic mineral oil is preferable.
Examples of the lubricating oil include petroleum-based lubricating oil and synthetic lubricating oil.
As the petroleum-based lubricating oil, liquid paraffin, spindle oil, refrigerating machine oil, dynamo oil, turbine oil, machine oil, cylinder oil and the like are used. Specific examples of the synthetic lubricating oil include synthetic hydrocarbon oil, polyglycol oil, polyphenyl ether oil, ester oil, phosphate ester oil, polychlorotrifluoroethylene oil, fluoroester oil, chlorinated biphenyl oil, Silicone oil or the like is used. In particular, when silicone oil is used, a rubber molded body having low hardness, low friction and high thermal conductivity can be obtained due to its low friction.
In the rubber composition of the present invention, the content of the vapor-grown carbon fiber is 20% by volume or more in the rubber composition (100% by volume). When a rubber molded body is produced from a rubber composition blended in an amount of 20% by volume or more and the vapor-grown carbon fibers are oriented in a certain direction in the molded body, high thermal conductivity can be exhibited in the orientation direction. For this reason, in the heat-radiation sheet manufactured using this rubber molding, high thermal conductivity can be obtained. Therefore, favorable heat dissipation can be imparted to the heat dissipation sheet. The content of the vapor grown carbon fiber is preferably 20 to 50% by volume, and more preferably 25 to 35% by volume.
In the rubber composition of the present invention, the content of the oil component is 1.5 times or more the content of the vapor-grown carbon fiber on a volume basis. Since the vapor-grown carbon fiber has the property of retaining a large amount of oil component, the bleed phenomenon can be prevented even if a large amount of oil component of 1.5 times or more is blended. And the softness | flexibility (low hardness characteristic) excellent in the rubber molded object manufactured by mix | blending such a large amount of oil component can be provided. Therefore, when the heat radiating sheet manufactured using this rubber molded body is used between the heat generating body and the heat radiating body, the surface of the heat radiating sheet can be satisfactorily brought into contact with the heat generating body or the heat radiating body. It is possible to obtain heat dissipation. The content of the oil component is preferably 1.5 to 4 times, more preferably 1.5 to 3 times the content of vapor grown carbon fiber.
As described above, according to the present invention, a certain amount of vapor-grown carbon fiber is blended and a large amount of oil component is blended using its properties, so that it has low hardness and high thermal conductivity. It is possible to obtain a rubber molded body having a good heat dissipation property.

[Heat dissipation sheet]
The heat-dissipating sheet of the present invention is obtained from the rubber composition of the present invention, and the vapor-grown carbon fibers are oriented in a direction substantially perpendicular to the sheet surface of the heat-dissipating sheet.
Hereinafter, the heat dissipation sheet of the present invention will be specifically described with reference to FIG.

The
Furthermore, since the

As the high thermal conductive filler, various kinds of conventionally used materials can be used. For example, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, mica, potassium titanate, iron oxide, talc, etc. Examples thereof include oxide particles, nitride particles such as boron nitride, silicon nitride, and aluminum nitride, carbide particles such as silicon carbide, and metal particles such as copper and aluminum. Moreover, you may mix | blend conventionally used additives, such as a hardening | curing agent, a processing aid, and a characteristic improvement agent, suitably. These components can be mix | blended in a sheet | seat using a conventionally well-known method.
The

W=K×(A・ΔT/D)
Evaluation (thermal conductivity)
About the heat conductivity of the thermal radiation sheet obtained by the Example and the comparative example, it measured by the steady-state heat-conductivity measuring method by a heat conductivity measuring machine (
(Measurement condition)
Water at room temperature is poured into the water box, a 5 × 5 cm sample is placed on the box, and a hot plate of the BT box on the sample is placed on the sample. After reaching steady state, the heat flow loss (W) of the BT box is read with a panel meter.
Since the heat flow loss (W) in the steady state can be expressed by the following equation, the thermal conductivity is obtained.
W = K × (A · ΔT / D)
W: Heat flow loss in steady state D: Sample thickness ΔT: Sample temperature difference A: BT hot plate area K: Thermal conductivity

[Orientation rate of vapor-grown carbon fiber]
The orientation rate of the vapor-grown carbon fibers in the heat dissipation sheets obtained in Examples and Comparative Examples was measured by image processing by cutting the heat dissipation sheet, observing the cut surface with an electron microscope. The results are shown in Table 1.
From Table 1, the heat radiating sheet obtained in Example 1 was low in hardness and excellent in flexibility, and exhibited higher thermal conductivity. In addition, the heat dissipation sheets obtained in Examples 2 and 3 were slightly inferior in thermal conductivity because of the smaller capacity of (C) than in Example 1, but were low in hardness and excellent in flexibility. On the other hand, the heat radiating sheet obtained in Comparative Example 1 had high hardness and thermal conductivity was inferior due to contact resistance caused by the hardness. Moreover, although the heat-radiation sheet obtained by the comparative example 2 is low-hardness, the heat conductivity was significantly inferior.
