Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a flame retardant polyester resin composition having excellent crystallinity.
Since polybutylene terephthalate resin is excellent in mechanical properties and heat resistance, it is widely used for applications such as electrical / electronic equipment parts, automobile parts, and mechanical mechanism parts. However, since polybutylene terephthalate resin has good crystal characteristics, it has a problem that toughness represented by impact strength is insufficient, and research on polymer alloys has been conducted to solve this problem. It has been broken.
As an example, a polymer alloy having both characteristics has been put into practical use by blending a polycarbonate resin having excellent impact resistance and good affinity with a polybutylene terephthalate resin into the polybutylene terephthalate resin. Furthermore, in recent years, there has been a strong demand for flame retardancy, particularly for electrical and electronic equipment components.
Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 disclose a flame retardant composition comprising a polybutylene terephthalate resin, a polycarbonate resin, a flame retardant, and a flame retardant aid as constituent components. However, in these compositions, since antimony trioxide having a transesterification catalytic ability is used as a flame retardant aid, the transesterification reaction between the polybutylene terephthalate resin and the polycarbonate resin is promoted, and the crystals of the polybutylene terephthalate resin are accelerated. There has been a problem that the performance is significantly reduced.
An object of the present invention is to provide a flame-retardant polyester resin composition having excellent crystallinity.
As a result of intensive studies to solve the above problems, the present inventors have controlled the transesterification reaction between (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin and (B) polycarbonate resin in order to achieve both crystallinity and flame retardancy. The present inventors have found that it is necessary to precisely control the structure of the polyester resin composition, and have reached the present invention.

According to the present invention, a polyester resin composition excellent in crystallinity and flame retardancy can be provided.
The (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin used in the present invention is a polymer obtained by a polycondensation reaction containing terephthalic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof and 1,4-butanediol or an ester-forming derivative as main components. Thus, a copolymer component may be included within a range that does not impair the characteristics.
Preferred examples of these polymers and copolymers include polybutylene terephthalate, polybutylene (terephthalate / isophthalate), polybutylene (terephthalate / adipate), polybutylene (terephthalate / sebacate), polybutylene (terephthalate / decanedicarboxylate), polybutylene. Is preferred. Specifically, a polycarbonate resin obtained by the transesterification method or the phosgene method using the bisphenol A or the like as a dihydroxy component is preferable. Furthermore, a bisphenol A part, preferably 10 mol% or less, substituted with 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenylalkane, 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenylsulfone, 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl ether or the like is also preferably used. .
From the viewpoint of excellent impact resistance and moldability, the above-mentioned polycarbonate resin preferably has a viscosity average molecular weight (Mv) of 10,000 to 60000, more preferably 20000 to 50000, and further preferably 25000 to 40000. Here, the viscosity average molecular weight (Mv) is obtained by dissolving the polycarbonate resin in methylene chloride and measuring the intrinsic viscosity [η] of the methylene chloride solution at 20 ° C.
[Η] = 1.23 × 10 −4 × Mv 0.83
Thus, the calculated value.
In the present invention, the total amount of (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin and (B) polycarbonate resin is 100 parts by weight, and (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin is 20 parts by weight or more and 80 parts by weight or less, and (B) polycarbonate resin is 20 parts by weight. Ru der than 80 parts by weight or more parts. More preferably, the component (A) is 30 parts by weight or more and 70 parts by weight or less, and the component (B) is 30 parts by weight or more and 70 parts by weight or less. Furthermore, the component (A) is most preferably 40 parts by weight or more and 60 parts by weight or less, and the component (B) is most preferably 40 parts by weight or more and 60 parts by weight or less.
By setting the (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin to 20 parts by weight or more, or the (B) polycarbonate resin to 80 parts by weight or less, a resin composition having excellent chemical resistance can be obtained. Moreover, the resin composition which is excellent in impact resistance can be obtained by (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin being 80 weight part or less or polycarbonate resin being 20 weight part or more.
The halogen-based flame retardant used as the component (C) of the present invention is a polymer-type flame retardant containing halogen and having a molecular weight of 2000 to 50000. Specific examples include brominated polycarbonate, brominated epoxy, brominated phenoxy. And one or more organic brominated polymers such as brominated polyphenylene ether, brominated polyacrylate, brominated polyphenylene phthalimide, and brominated polystyrene. Of these, brominated polycarbonate and brominated epoxy polymer are preferred. These may be used alone or in combination.
The amount of the flame retardant is 0.1 to 20 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the total amount of (A) and (B). The addition of 0.1 part by weight or more is preferable because the flame retardant effect can be sufficiently exerted, and the addition of 20 parts by weight or less does not impair the mechanical properties of the polyester resin composition.
In addition, as the flame retardant aid used as the component (D), any combination of (C) a halogen-based flame retardant used in combination to improve flame retardancy synergistically, For example, antimony trioxide, antimony pentoxide, antimony tetroxide, antimony trioxide, crystalline antimonic acid, sodium antimonate, lithium antimonate, barium antimonate, antimony phosphate, zinc borate, zinc stannate, basic molybdenum Examples include zinc oxide, calcium zinc molybdate, molybdenum oxide, zirconium oxide, zinc oxide, iron oxide, red phosphorus, swellable graphite, and carbon black. Of these, antimony trioxide and antimony pentoxide are preferred.
The amount of the flame retardant aid, a flame retardant improving effect, in terms of mechanical properties, based on 100 parts by weight of (A) and (B), is from 0.01 to 2 parts by weight. By adding 0.01 parts by weight or more, sufficient flame retardancy can be obtained, and by adding 2 parts by weight or less, the transesterification reaction between (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin and (B) polycarbonate resin can be achieved. This is preferable because the crystallinity of the polyester resin composition due to acceleration can be prevented from being lowered.
In the present invention, when (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin and (B) polycarbonate resin are mixed together, (D) antimony trioxide as a flame retardant aid coexists, and antimony trioxide acts as a transesterification catalyst. Therefore, the transesterification reaction between (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin and (B) polycarbonate resin is promoted, and the crystallinity and glass transition temperature of the polyester resin of the present invention tend to be remarkably lowered. Moreover, the same tendency arises also with the transesterification catalyst represented by the titanium catalyst normally contained in (A) polybutylene terephthalate resin. Therefore, in the present invention, it is necessary to deactivate the transesterification catalyst in order to suppress the transesterification reaction.
In this invention, it is necessary to mix | blend (E) transesterification inhibitor as an additive which deactivates a transesterification reaction catalyst. (E) The transesterification inhibitor can be used without particular limitation as long as it is a compound that deactivates the transesterification reaction catalyst, but a phosphite compound and a phosphate compound are preferably used.
Specific examples of the phosphite compounds include bis (2,4-di-t-butylphenyl) pentaerythritol diphosphite, tris (2,4-di-t-butylphenyl) phosphite, bis (2,4 , 6-tri-t-butylphenyl) pentaerythritol diphosphite, distearyl pentaerythritol diphosphite, and (f) tetrakis (2,4-di-t-butylphenyl) -4,4′-biphenylenediphos For example, fights.
O=P(OR)n(OH)3−n ・・・(1)
Moreover, as a phosphate type compound, following General formula (1)
O = P (OR) n (OH) 3-n (1)
(Wherein R is an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and n is 1 or 2).

Λm =(λ/2)/sin(θm /2)

Confirmation that such a biphasic continuous structure or a dispersed structure is obtained is made by observing with a transmission electron microscope having a resolution of at least 1 nm or less, and finally observing a photograph magnified 30000 times or more. Can do. When calculating the structural period or the dispersion diameter by image analysis, it is preferable to use a photograph that is finally magnified 1000 times or less from the viewpoint of improving accuracy. Note that the light scattering device and the small-angle X-ray scattering device have different optimum measurement regions, so that they are appropriately selected according to the size of the structure period. The existence of the scattering maximum in this scattering measurement is a proof that a regular phase-separated structure with a certain period exists, and its period Λm corresponds to the structure period in the case of a biphasic continuous structure, and the particle in the case of a dispersed structure. Corresponds to the distance between. Further, the value is expressed by the following formula Λm = (λ / 2) / sin (θm / 2) using the wavelength λ of the scattered light in the scatterer and the scattering angle θm giving the scattering maximum.
Can be calculated.
