- 一面側に第1電極を有する第1基板と、
一面側に第2電極を有し、当該第2電極と前記第1基板の前記第1電極とが向かい合うようにして前記第1基板と対向配置された第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に設けられた液晶層と、
を含み、
前記第1電極は、第1方向に延びた形状の複数の第1開口部を有し、
前記第2電極は、前記第1方向に延びた形状の複数の第2開口部を有し、
前記複数の第1開口部及び前記複数の第2開口部の各々は、
前記第1方向に沿って配置された相互に平行な直線からなる2つの第1外縁部と、
前記2つの第1外縁部に挟まれた位置へ向けて窪んでおり、前記2つの第1外縁部の一端同士および他端同士の各々を結ぶ2つの第2外縁部と、を有する、
