Description
The present invention relates to an electrochemical cell in which a metal terminal does not protrude to the outside from an exterior body, and relates to an electrochemical cell excellent in the sealing performance of a heat seal part at the peripheral part of the electrochemical cell and a method for producing the same.
The lithium ion battery is also referred to as a lithium secondary battery, and includes a liquid, gel-like, or polymer polymer electrolyte, and a positive electrode / negative electrode active material made of a polymer polymer. In this lithium ion battery, the lithium atom (Li) in the lithium transition metal oxide, which is the positive electrode active material, is charged as lithium ion (Li + ) during charging and enters the carbon layer of the negative electrode (intercalation). This is a battery in which charge / discharge reaction proceeds when ions (Li + ) are separated from the carbon layer (deintercalation) and move to the positive electrode to become the original lithium compound. From the nickel-cadmium battery and the nickel-hydrogen battery The output voltage is high, the energy density is high, and the apparent discharge capacity is reduced by repeating shallow discharge and recharging, so that there is no so-called memory effect.
In addition, the configuration of the lithium ion battery is composed of a positive electrode current collector / positive electrode active substance layer / electrolyte layer / negative electrode active substance layer / negative electrode current collector and an outer package that wraps these, and as a packaging material for forming the outer package, There is a tendency that a packaging material composed of a laminate composed of a multilayer film is used as an exterior body.
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing a layer structure of a
This
The lithium ion battery
However, while the
Therefore, in Patent Document 1, as the size of the battery increases, in order to ensure the sealing performance in the vicinity of the metal terminal, the battery is provided with a function as a metal terminal to the exterior body, and the tip of the metal terminal does not protrude outside the exterior body. Has been proposed. 10 is a perspective view of a
Further, as shown in FIG. 11, an insulating
However, even when the metal terminal is not interposed between the
Therefore, in view of the above problems, the present invention provides an electrochemical cell in which a metal terminal does not protrude to the outside from an exterior body, and an electrochemical cell excellent in the sealing performance of the heat seal portion at the periphery of the electrochemical cell and a method for producing the same. The purpose is to provide.
To achieve the above object, an electrochemical cell according to the first configuration of the present invention includes a positive electrode composed of a positive electrode active material and a positive electrode current collector, a negative electrode composed of a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode current collector, and a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The third configuration of the present invention is characterized in that, in the electrochemical cell, the heat resistant resin layer is composed of a polyethylene terephthalate film or a polyethylene naphthalate film.
Moreover, the manufacturing method of the electrochemical cell by the 4th structure of this invention combines a metal member so that a metal bonding film may face each other after heat-sealing a metal bonding film to each of a set of metal members. It is manufactured by heat-sealing a metal bonding film.
According to the first configuration of the present invention, in the electrochemical cell, the heat seal bar is bonded to the metal during heat sealing by using a resin in which a color pigment is added to the resin constituting the polyolefin resin layer of the metal bonding film. When the pressed surface of the film is pressed with a non-uniform pressure distribution, the melted polyolefin resin layer is formed in a layer thickness according to the pressure distribution, and is cooled and solidified as it is, and the formed polyolefin system Depending on the thickness of the resin layer, shades of color appear on the polyolefin resin layer. That is, the portion where the polyolefin-based resin layer is formed with a relatively thin thickness appears in a light color, and the portion where the polyolefin-based resin layer is formed with a relatively thick layer appears in a dark color. Thereby, after heat sealing, the color density of the polyolefin resin layer cooled and solidified can be detected, and the adhesive strength distribution can be easily confirmed from the pressure distribution during heat sealing.
This metal bonding film is heat-sealed to the metal member constituting the exterior body, and the adhesion strength distribution with the metal member can be confirmed from the shade of the color of the heat bonding resin layer of the bonded metal bonding film. At this time, if the adhesive strength distribution is uneven, the metal member can be removed as a defective part. Therefore, the electrochemical cell in which the metal bonding films without unevenness in adhesion strength distribution are opposed to each other and heat-sealed can prevent the adhesion failure between the metal members in advance and ensure a stable sealing performance. Moreover, since the metal member which comprises an exterior body is each connected with either a positive electrode or a negative electrode, and an exterior body fulfill | performs the function of a metal terminal, the front-end | tip of a metal terminal does not protrude outside an exterior body. Thereby, since the site | part which clamps a metal terminal is not contained in the area | region to heat-seal, the sealing performance of the metal terminal vicinity is not reduced. In addition, since the polyolefin-based resin layer is composed of an acid-modified polyolefin resin, the acid-modified polyolefin resin exhibits stable adhesion to the metal member. Heat seal strength is stable.
According to the second configuration of the present invention, in the above electrochemical cell, by adding 0.05% by mass or more and 1.0% by mass or less of carbon powder to the resin constituting the polyolefin resin layer, after heat sealing In the polyolefin resin layer to which the carbon powder is added, the shade of the color that appears depending on the thickness of the polyolefin resin layer appears more clearly. Therefore, visual detection can be easily performed. In addition, when the carbon powder added to the resin constituting the polyolefin resin layer is less than 0.05% by mass or more than 1.0% by mass, the contrast (shading) of the color to be exposed becomes unclear and visually Detection becomes difficult.
According to the third configuration of the present invention, in the above electrochemical cell, when the heat-resistant resin layer is composed of a polyethylene terephthalate film or a polyethylene naphthalate film, the melting point of these films is sufficiently higher than the heat seal temperature. It is possible to prevent the metal bonding film from being crushed by the pressure at the time of heat sealing, and to ensure stable adhesion of the metal bonding film. In addition, since the polyethylene terephthalate film and the polyethylene naphthalate film have high water vapor gas barrier properties, it is possible to prevent water vapor from penetrating into the exterior body by penetrating the end face of the metal bonding film. Moreover, since the polyethylene terephthalate film and the polyethylene naphthalate film are excellent in chemical resistance, they are hardly corroded even if the contents such as the electrolyte adhere.
According to the fifth configuration of the present invention, in the method of manufacturing an electrochemical cell, after heat-sealing the metal bonding film to each of the set of metal members, the color of the heat bonding resin layer of the bonded metal bonding film The adhesion strength distribution with the metal member is confirmed from the density, and if the adhesion strength distribution is uneven, the metal member can be removed as a defective part. Therefore, by manufacturing the electrochemical cell by facing the metal bonding films without unevenness in the adhesive strength distribution and heat-sealing, the manufactured electrochemical cell can prevent adhesion failure between metal members in advance. Stable sealing performance is ensured.
The present invention is an electrochemical cell in which a metal terminal does not protrude to the outside from an exterior body, and is an electrochemical cell that is excellent in sealing performance at the periphery of the electrochemical cell. The lithium ion battery which is one embodiment of the electrochemical cell of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. Here, the electrochemical cell is a broad concept that means a lithium ion battery, a capacitor, an electric double layer capacitor, and the like. The “electrochemical cell” in claim 1 means the lithium ion battery of the present embodiment, and the “metal member” means a tray and a sheet constituting the exterior body of the present embodiment. Note that the description of the portions common to FIGS. 6 to 13 in the conventional example is omitted.
[First Embodiment]
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing a layer structure of a
2 is a perspective view of the
With this configuration, the
In addition, two insulating
Thus, after heat-sealing the
In this embodiment, the
Here, by adding carbon powder to 0.05 mass% or more and 1.0 mass% or less, preferably 0.1 mass% or more and 0.5 mass% or less with respect to the resin constituting the polyolefin-based
Next, each layer constituting the
Therefore, as the polyolefin-based
Further, by using acid-modified polypropylene for the polyolefin-based

(3) A simple substance or a blended product obtained by acid-modified polymerization using an unsaturated carboxylic acid having a melting point of 110 ° C. or higher can be used.
In addition, polypropylene is preferably used as the polyolefin-based
Each of the above types of polypropylene, ie, random polypropylene, homopolypropylene, and block polypropylene, includes a low crystalline ethylene-butene copolymer, a low crystalline propylene-butene copolymer, and a three-component copolymer of ethylene, butene, and propylene. An antiblocking agent (AB agent) such as a polymer terpolymer, silica, zeolite, or acrylic resin beads, a fatty acid amide slip agent, or the like may be added.
In addition, the

Moreover, as thickness of a polyethylene terephthalate film and a polyethylene naphthalate film, it is 6 micrometers or more, Preferably it is 12-25 micrometers. If it is less than 6 μm, there is a possibility of short circuit, and if it exceeds 25 μm, no significant improvement effect is seen in cost effectiveness (short circuit prevention effect). Moreover, the surface of a polyethylene terephthalate film and a polyethylene naphthalate film can take well-known easy-adhesion means, such as a corona discharge process, an ozone process, a plasma process, as needed.
