Description
The present invention relates to a multilayer plastic container having inner and outer layers made of a polyolefin resin and reduced in weight by reducing the amount of resin used.
The multilayer plastic container according to the present invention is a polyolefin-based multilayer container having a balance of transparency, flexibility, rigidity, and drop strength, and is particularly used for a squeeze-type soft container.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a multilayer plastic container having a gas barrier layer using a polyolefin-based resin for inner and outer layers is known. These polyolefin-based multilayer plastic containers have high moisture resistance, are relatively soft, and have excellent transparency and moldability. Therefore, they are blow-molded into a desired shape and used as containers for various foods, beverages or chemicals. By the way, in recent years, for the purpose of reducing the environmental load of these plastic containers, the amount of plastic used is reduced to reduce the weight, and further, a recycled resin layer is provided using burrs generated during molding. Yes. However, when the weight is reduced or recycled, various physical properties of the multilayer plastic container are lowered, and particularly, the impact resistance due to dropping is significantly lowered, thereby causing problems such as breakage.
The containers disclosed in the above-mentioned patent documents have various configurations in order to improve the impact resistance. However, in a multilayer container that has been reduced in weight by reducing the wall thickness of the container, its resistance is improved. The drop strength is still not enough. Furthermore, when a linear ethylene / α-olefin copolymer is used, it is difficult to adjust the wall thickness of the thin-walled container that is inferior in moldability due to insufficient melt tension, so It also caused damage. Further, when a soft resin having a relatively low density is blended, rigidity and transparency are inferior.
The present invention provides a multilayer plastic container with a good balance of flexibility, rigidity, and drop strength .
A multilayer plastic container according to the present invention is a multilayer plastic container provided with a core layer made of a gas barrier resin, and an inner layer and an outer layer made of a polyolefin resin , wherein the polyolefin resin is polymerized using a metallocene catalyst. ethylene · alpha-olefin copolymer der having a long-chain branched structure is, wherein the ethylene · alpha-olefin copolymer has a melt tension at 190 ° C. is 4.5~12G, melt flow rate (MFR) It is less than 1.0 g / 10 min , the density is 0.921 to 0.936 g / cm 3 , the tensile impact strength is 800 kJ / m 2 or more , and the melting point is 114 ° C. or less. .
According to the present invention, a multilayer plastic container having an excellent balance of transparency, flexibility and rigidity can be obtained.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail. The multilayer plastic container according to the present invention is formed using blow molding. FIG. 1 shows one embodiment of a multilayer
The polyolefin resin constituting the inner and outer layers of the multilayer plastic container of the present invention is an ethylene / α-olefin copolymer obtained by copolymerizing ethylene and an α-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms. Examples of the α-olefin include propylene, 1-butene, 1-pentene, 1-hexene, 1-heptene, 1-octene, 1-nonene, 1-decene, 1-dodecene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, Examples include 4-methyl-1-hexene, and preferably 1-butene, 1-hexene, and 1-octene are used. Moreover, said C3-C20 alpha olefin may be used independently and may use 2 or more types together. In addition to a monomer unit based on ethylene and a monomer unit based on an α-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, known monomer units can be used as long as the effects of the present invention are not impaired. Content of the monomer unit based on ethylene in the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer is in the range of 50 to 99 wt% with respect to the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer. The content of the monomer unit based on the α-olefin is in the range of 1 to 50 wt% with respect to the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer.
The ethylene / α-olefin copolymer used in the present invention uses a carrier carrying an organoaluminum oxy compound, a metallocene complex having a cyclopentadienyl skeleton and an organoaluminum compound as a catalyst, and randomly combines ethylene and α-olefin. Obtained by copolymerization. At this time, by adjusting the polymerization conditions, the long-chain branching content and the molecular weight distribution can be set to a desired range.
The ethylene / α-olefin copolymer used in the present invention has a long-chain branched structure, and realizes excellent moldability by a specific melt tension and melt flow rate while being an ethylene / α-olefin copolymer. Therefore, even when a light weight container is formed by reducing the amount of resin used, partial thinning does not occur. An ethylene / α-olefin copolymer polymerized using a metallocene catalyst generally has a problem of low melt tension and inferior moldability. However, an ethylene / α-olefin copolymer into which long chain branching is introduced. By using the polymer, it is possible to obtain a lightweight multilayer plastic container that is reduced in weight and thickness by reducing the materials used without reducing various physical properties required for the multilayer plastic container.
The ethylene / α-olefin copolymer constituting the inner and outer layers of the multilayer plastic container of the present invention is preferably an ethylene-1-butene copolymer or an ethylene-1-hexene copolymer. Specifically, the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer having a long chain branched structure polymerized by using the metallocene catalyst used in the present invention has a melt tension at 190 ° C. of 4.5 g or more, preferably 7.0. In addition, the melt flow rate is less than 1.0 g / 10 minutes, and the molecular weight distribution (Mw / Mn) is 5.0 or more, preferably 7.0 or more. High melt tension and molecular weight distribution can be obtained by introducing long chain branching while being an ethylene / α-olefin copolymer polymerized using a metallocene catalyst, and excellent moldability can be achieved. .
Furthermore, the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer having a long chain branched structure polymerized using the metallocene catalyst used in the present invention has a density range of 0.921 to 0.936 g / cm 3 and a tensile impact strength. Is 800 kJ /
The ethylene / α-olefin copolymer having a long-chain branched structure has a flow activation energy (Ea) of 40 kJ / mol or more, which is higher than that of an ethylene / α-olefin copolymer having no long-chain branched structure. Has flow activation energy. The flow activation energy (Ea) of the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer used in the present invention is 45 to 95 kJ / mol. In moldability such as blow molding or extrusion sheet molding, the melt tension should be high, but it is necessary to select an appropriate flow activation energy (Ea) in order to suppress an excessive increase in pressure during extrusion from the head. . The flow activation energy (Ea) is based on the temperature-time superposition principle when creating a master curve showing the dependence of the melt complex viscosity (Pa · sec) at 190 ° C. on the angular frequency (rad / sec). Using a Rheometrics viscoelasticity measuring device, a 25 mm diameter plate is melted at 130 ° C., 150 ° C., 170 ° C., and 190 ° C. in a nitrogen atmosphere using a Rheometrics viscoelasticity measuring device. -An angular frequency curve can be measured, and it can obtain | require from the obtained melt complex viscosity-angular frequency curve using the calculation software made from Rheometrics.
The gas barrier resin constituting the core layer has an oxygen permeability at 30 ° C.-60% RH of 10 (cc · 20 μm / m 2 · day · atm) or less, preferably 1.0 (cc · 20 μm / m 2 · (day · atm) or less thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 180 ° C. or higher, preferably 185 ° C. or higher, more preferably 190 ° C. or higher. As the gas barrier resin, an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) is suitable. Generally, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 60 mol% or less is saponified to a saponification degree of 90% or more. Is used. Furthermore, an adhesive layer or a recycled resin layer can be appropriately provided between the outer layer or the inner layer and the core layer. As the adhesive resin, an olefin copolymer having a carboxyl group is preferably used, and maleic anhydride-modified polyethylene is particularly suitable.
From the viewpoint of simplifying the multilayer structure of the container, the resin constituting the core layer can be blended with an adhesive resin to the resin constituting the core layer instead of providing an independent adhesive layer. It is also possible to arrange the core layer provided between the inner and outer layers separately. In this case, the plurality of core layers are isolated via the intermediate layer.
Unlike the normal linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), the ethylene / α-olefin copolymer constituting the inner and outer layers of the multilayer plastic container of the present invention has a long-chain branched structure, thereby providing a linear molecular structure. It is possible to obtain a multilayer plastic container having excellent moldability as compared with the LLDPE possessed and having a balance between impact strength and rigidity, which are generally opposite physical properties.

The physical properties of the polyolefin resin used in each example were evaluated by the following measuring methods.
(1) Density (g / cm 3 ): Measured according to JIS K7112.
(2) Melt tension (g): Using a Toyo Seiki melt tension tester, the resin melted at a temperature of 190 ° C. was extruded at an extrusion speed of 10 mm / min from an orifice diameter of 2.09 mm and a length of 8 mm. The measurement was performed under a winding speed of 4 m / min.
In general, the higher the melt tension value, the better the workability. In particular, there is no draw down during blow molding, and the wall surface of the container can be adjusted to be thin, and the moldability is excellent.
(3) Melt flow rate (g / 10 min): Measured in accordance with JIS K7210 under conditions of 190 ° C. and load 21, 18N.
The smaller the melt flow rate value, the better the physical properties such as tensile strength and impact strength. On the other hand, in terms of moldability, if the value of the melt flow rate is small, the melt viscosity becomes high, which causes melt fracture and shark skin during extrusion.
(4) Tensile impact strength (kJ / m 2 ): A sheet having a thickness of 2 mm that is compression-molded under conditions of a temperature of 190 ° C. and a pressure of 5 MPa (preheating time: 10 minutes, compression time: 5 minutes) in accordance with ASTM D1822-68. Was measured as a sample.
(5) Molecular weight distribution (Mw / Mn): Measured under conditions of 140 ° C. using Waters GPC and Tosoh column TSK-GMH-HT with o-dichlorobenzene solvent as a carrier.
(6) Flexural rigidity (MPa): In accordance with ASTM D747-70, a 2 mm thick sheet compression-molded under conditions of a temperature of 150 ° C. and a pressure of 5 MPa (preheating time 10 minutes,
(6) Melting point (° C.): The temperature at the maximum peak position of the endothermic curve measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC200 type, manufactured by Seiko Denshi Kogyo Co., Ltd.) was defined as the melting point (Tm).
