Description
The present invention relates to a light source device and an endoscope system using the same.
An endoscope is inserted into a living body such as a human body and used for diagnosis and treatment of an organ, collection of a sample, and the like. At the distal end of the insertion portion of the endoscope, an image sensor for acquiring an image and an illumination light exit for illuminating an observation site are provided. Inside the endoscope, a light guide made of a bundle of optical fibers is inserted, and this light guide is connected to a white light source such as a xenon lamp and transmits light from the light source to the distal end of the insertion portion.
Conventionally, various proposals have been made as illumination optical systems for endoscopes.
In Patent Document 1, a light emitting diode (LED), a semiconductor laser (for example, LD), or a light emitting element such as a lamp is used as a light source as an endoscope illumination optical system, and this light emitting element is inserted into an endoscope tip (inserted). It is disclosed that the light guide (LG) can be eliminated, the operability can be improved, the deviation between the observation range and the illumination range can be eliminated, and uniform illumination can be obtained. Patent Document 1 also discloses an example in which a plurality of light emitting elements are mounted in order to selectively emit light according to the distance to the subject.
Further, Patent Document 2 discloses a high-color-rendering device and a white color illumination device that guides a blue laser beam having high emission efficiency as excitation light to a tip thereof with a fiber, excites a phosphor applied to the tip, and produces white illumination. An endoscope apparatus to be used is disclosed. For this reason, various phosphors are disclosed in Patent Document 4, and in combination with laser light having a predetermined wavelength, illumination of a specific color tone, for example, white illumination, green illumination, blue illumination, yellow illumination, etc. Is also disclosed.
Furthermore, Patent Document 3 uses two types of excitation light of a blue wavelength region and a blue-violet wavelength region shorter than this as the excitation light used in Patent Document 2, and is excited by these two types of excitation light. Thus, there is disclosed a light emitting device that reduces a wavelength conversion loss in a wavelength conversion member made of phosphors of yellow and red by adding blue spectrum and further exciting with blue. For this reason, the light-emitting device disclosed in Patent Document 3 emits two types of laser elements that respectively emit two types of excitation light in a blue wavelength range and a blue-violet wavelength range, and light in a longer wavelength range than the excitation light. It has the wavelength conversion member containing 1 or more types of fluorescent substance, and the light guide which guide | induces excitation light to a wavelength conversion member.
In Patent Document 4, an optimal wavelength region is selected according to the object to be observed, and a normal color image (visible information) is built into the endoscope tip by time-series illumination within the visible wavelength region. In order to facilitate detection of the color difference of each part of the observed object, which is difficult to identify with a general visible region image, An electronic endoscope is disclosed that can illuminate light including an ultraviolet wavelength region in a time series to acquire an image using infrared light or ultraviolet light, and assign and display the image in a desired color. For this reason, Patent Document 4 includes lasers and LEDs that emit light in a narrow-band wavelength region as light sources for illuminating with light in a narrow-band wavelength region. In addition, a xenon lamp, a halogen lamp, It is disclosed that an absorption filter or a vapor deposition filter mixed with a dye may be provided at the exit of a lamp that emits broadband light such as a strobe lamp to limit the output wavelength. Patent Document 4 discloses that a large number of such light sources are used in the wavelength region from the ultraviolet region to the infrared region. In Patent Document 4, the illumination light emitted from the light source needs to guide various kinds of illumination light in a predetermined wavelength region from the ultraviolet region to the infrared region. The light is guided by a light guide.
By the way, as in Patent Document 1, when mounting a light emitting element such as an LED or a semiconductor laser in the distal end portion of the endoscope, particularly when arranging a plurality of light emitting elements, the light emitting element is miniaturized as much as possible. Thinning is required. As described above, in the case of white illumination suitable for endoscope illumination, for example, when using a white LED or white laser, as disclosed in Patent Documents 2 and 3, a semiconductor laser or LED serving as an excitation light source is used. However, in this case, there is a trade-off relationship that the efficiency can be easily increased as the phosphor can be made as large as possible. For this reason, when the light emitting element is mounted in the distal end portion of the endoscope, there is a problem that there is a limit to the size of the phosphor and there is a limit to increase the efficiency.
On the other hand, as in the endoscope disclosed in Patent Document 4, infrared light and ultraviolet light other than the visible range can acquire images useful for image diagnosis, particularly medical image diagnosis.
However, the endoscope device disclosed in Patent Document 4 uses light in the visible range, infrared light and ultraviolet light other than the visible range by switching light in a narrow band wavelength in time series, and using these lights. It directly enters the light guide and irradiates the subject directly from the tip of the light guide, and does not irradiate white light including a plurality of wavelength components in the visible range. For this reason, Patent Document 4 describes that a fiberscope using an optical fiber may be used instead of an electronic endoscope using a light guide. Similar to the guide, it is simply used to guide multiple narrowband wavelengths of light.
Therefore, in the endoscope disclosed in Patent Document 4, even when an optical fiber is used instead of the light guide, light emitted from a semiconductor laser or LED serving as an excitation light source is incident on the light guide or the optical fiber. However, there is a problem that the white LEDs and white lasers disclosed in Patent Documents 2 and 3 that obtain white light by applying a phosphor to the tip of a light guide or an optical fiber cannot be used.
Further, as disclosed in Patent Documents 2 and 3, as a light source of an endoscope, semiconductor lasers or LEDs that emit excitation light, for example, blue excitation light, an optical fiber that guides excitation light, and a tip of the optical fiber In addition to using a white LED or a white laser provided with a phosphor that is excited by excitation light, it is useful in the medical field, such as an endoscope disclosed in Patent Document 4, and has an infrared region other than the visible region. In the case of using an infrared light emitting element that emits light, conventionally, an optical fiber that guides excitation light is configured to efficiently guide excitation light, so that infrared light is efficiently guided. In addition, phosphors used in conventional white LEDs and white lasers have a problem that infrared light is wavelength-converted into fluorescence.
For this reason, in a conventional endoscope light source device, excitation light and infrared light are guided using separate optical fibers.

The first object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and can guide two light emissions having different wavelengths coaxially, which can be reduced in size, reduced in diameter, reduced in cost, An object of the present invention is to provide many light source devices and an endoscope system using the same.
Another object of the present invention is to realize efficient white illumination and downsizing of the apparatus in addition to the first object, and the white light source and the infrared light source are substantially the same. Or the white light and the infrared light can be guided coaxially to make the emission position almost the same. For example, a normal image by white light in time series and an image by infrared light A light source device that can easily compare between both images by reducing the difference between the image shift and the appearance of the shadow even when the image is acquired and displayed, and an endoscope system using the same It is in.
In order to achieve the above object, the present inventor observes using white light and is useful in the medical field. The inventor can take an image using the difference in hemoglobin absorption or oxygen saturation and use it for diagnosis. In order to observe using infrared light (infrared light), efficient white illumination and downsizing of the device can be realized, and the emission source of white light and infrared light or the emission position thereof can be determined. As a result of intensive research on light source devices that can be made substantially the same, as in the white laser disclosed in Patent Document 2, blue light is guided by an optical fiber, and white light is emitted by a phosphor at the tip of the optical fiber. Even in the case of illumination to be converted into light, the phosphor used is hardly excited, such as red light or infrared light, and the emitted light having a wavelength that passes through the phosphor is guided to the phosphor at the tip of the optical fiber. And also red light and It was found that the emission position of white light and infrared light can be made substantially the same by mounting a light source such as an infrared LD that emits external light or the like under the phosphor, and the present invention has been achieved. It is.
In addition, the present inventor uses the above-described ultraviolet to blue light emitting element, for example, a light source that excites a phosphor with an LED and obtains a desired white color from the excitation light and the fluorescent light. , The light emission sources can be made substantially the same, and the efficiency of white illumination and the miniaturization thereof can be realized. For example, a normal image by white light and an image by infrared light in time series When the image is acquired and displayed, the difference between the image shift and the appearance of the shadow is small, and it is easy to compare the two images, and the present invention has been achieved.
Further, the inventor does not use blue light and ultraviolet light as excitation light of the white laser disclosed in Patent Document 2 as in the case of the white laser disclosed in Patent Document 3, but instead excites the phosphor. In addition, a semiconductor laser that emits red light or infrared light, for example, with high light collection efficiency to the optical fiber, can be sent to the phosphor at the tip by the optical fiber. By appropriately selecting phosphor glass, aggregate, binder, etc., the phosphor can impart a function of expanding the light divergence angle as a scatterer for red light or infrared light, The present inventors have found that phenomena such as speckle caused by coherence when a semiconductor laser is used can be used to prevent phenomena that hinder imaging.

Here, FIG. 2 shows details of the
As shown in the figure, the

That is, when YAG (YAG: Ce 2+ ) is used as the phosphor in the present invention, when the wavelength exceeds 520 nm, there is almost no absorption and no light is emitted. Further, no light is emitted at the long wavelength side of the emission spectrum having a wavelength exceeding 550 nm.

In the present invention, the fluorescence that is excited by infrared light and emits light from the phosphor portion 48 (second fluorescence of the present invention) is the fluorescence that is excited by blue excitation light and emits light from the phosphor portion 48 (of the present invention). 1/10 or less of the first fluorescence), preferably 1/100 or less, and more preferably 1/10000 or less.

One of the preferable features of the present invention is that the phosphor of the
In the illustrated example, the
As the first light-emitting element, for example, a blue-violet semiconductor laser light source having a wavelength of 405 nm with good phosphor excitation efficiency may be used to improve the light conversion efficiency. Thereby, the emitted-heat amount of the
As described above, when YAG (YAG: Ce 2+ ) is used as the phosphor, when the wavelength exceeds 520 nm, there is almost no absorption and no light is emitted. Further, no light is emitted at the long wavelength side of the emission spectrum having a wavelength exceeding 550 nm.
Further, when a green SHG laser is guided by the
Moreover, in the said Example, although the wavelength of the part of the input light (excitation light) from a light source is wavelength-converted with the fluorescent substance of the

First, a sapphire substrate is prepared, the prepared sapphire substrate is pretreated, and an AlN buffer layer, then a Si-doped n-GaN layer is further formed by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). And a suitable GaN quantum well barrier layer and an InGaN layer as a light emitting layer are stacked to form a single quantum well layer.
Next, a Mg-doped p-type AlGaN carrier block layer and a p-GaN layer doped with Mg at a high concentration can be grown to produce an LED wafer. Thereafter, activation of the p-type carrier is performed, and an ordinary LED wafer is manufactured by repeating the photolithography and the ITO film for electrode formation, the metal electrode deposition process for wire bonding, and the etching process.
Thereafter, for chip separation, each chip is scratched by diamond scribe, and a wall is opened by a braking device, thereby completing element isolation.
