Description
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for estimating a road surface state during traveling.
As a method of estimating the road surface friction coefficient, for example, after detecting the wheel speed and detecting the wheel speed fluctuation Δω when receiving the disturbance ΔT from the detected wheel speed signal ω, the above-mentioned Δω is satisfied. The wheel transfer function is identified by the method of least squares, the slope of the road surface μ is estimated, and the braking force of the vehicle is determined from the relationship between the slope of the road surface μ, the braking force of the vehicle determined in advance, and the slope of the road surface μ. From this braking force and the slope of the road surface μ, a method of estimating the slope of the road surface μ when the slip ratio is zero (see, for example, Patent Document 1), or as shown in FIG. A sensing block 52H having a height higher than that of the tread surface 50S and a sensing block 52L having a height lower than that of the tread surface 50S are formed on the tire tread portion 51 of the
However, in the method of estimating the slope of the road surface μ when the slip ratio is zero from the slope of the road surface μ obtained based on the wheel speed and the estimated braking force of the vehicle, the force generated between the tire and the road surface Since there is no information, the estimation time is required, and there is a limit to the followability to the road surface change.
Further, in the method of estimating the road surface friction coefficient from the difference in strain level detected by the strain gauges 53H and 53L attached to the sensing blocks 52H and 52L having different heights, the strain gauges 53H and 53L are applied to the blocks directly in contact with the road surface. Therefore, there is a problem in terms of durability of the sensor.
The present invention has been made in view of conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus capable of accurately estimating the state of the road surface during traveling without attaching a sensor to the tire. .
As a result of intensive studies, the present inventor has found that, in a running tire, vibration occurs when the kicked-out end of the block deformed in the ground contact surface leaves the ground contact surface and returns to its original shape. Depends on the road surface condition, this vibration excites the natural vibration of the tire tread of the tire, and the magnitude of the natural vibration of the excited tire tread depends on the magnitude of the vibration at the kicking end. Therefore, if the magnitude of the natural vibration of the tire tread transmitted from the tire to the lower part of a vehicle spring such as a wheel, wheel hub or knuckle is detected, the tire is not provided with a sensor, and the road surface during traveling is detected. The present inventors have found that the state can be estimated with high accuracy and have arrived at the present invention.
That is, the invention according to
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the road surface state estimating method according to the first aspect, as the tire, the kicking end of the block or the kicking end of the pseudo block is measured from the center of the tire tread. A tire formed at a position less than ± 40% of the maximum contact width of the tread is used.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the road surface state estimating method according to the first or second aspect, as the tire, a length of the block or the pseudo block in a tire circumferential direction is 20% or less of a tire contact length. It is characterized by using a tire.
The invention according to claim 4 is the road surface state estimation method according to any one of
Further, the invention according to
A sixth aspect of the present invention is the road surface state estimating apparatus according to the fifth aspect, wherein the vibration detecting means is a non-rotating side member of the wheel portion and is mounted on the wheel side of the buffer member. It is what.
According to the present invention, a plurality of blocks divided by a plurality of circumferential grooves and width grooves, or a plurality of pseudo blocks protruding in the tire width direction from a land portion continuous in the tire circumferential direction are arranged in the circumferential direction. In addition, a vibration detection means is arranged under the vehicle spring, and the tire tread natural vibration excited by the vibration at the time of kicking out the block or the pseudo block is detected under the vehicle spring. Since the road surface state is estimated from the detected natural vibration magnitude of the tire tread, the road surface state during traveling can be accurately estimated without providing a sensor in the tire portion. Further, since the sensor need not be attached to the tire, the tire production efficiency is improved. Further, the durability of the sensor can be improved as compared with the case where the sensor is mounted on the tire portion, and the replacement of the sensor is facilitated.
As the tire used for estimating the road surface condition, in the tire width direction, measured from the center of the tire tread, the kicking end of the block or the pseudo block is located at a position less than ± 40% of the maximum contact width of the tire tread. A tire in which a kick-out end is formed is preferable. As a result, the natural vibration of the tire tread can be effectively excited, so that the road surface condition can be detected with high accuracy. Further, in the tire circumferential direction, the length of the block or the pseudo block in the tire circumferential direction is preferably 20% or less of the tire contact length, whereby the natural vibration can be accurately detected.
In addition, if the above vibration is detected on the non-rotating side member of the wheel part and on the wheel side of the buffer member, data is transmitted from the sensor to the vehicle body side without using a slip ring or a radio device. Thus, the apparatus can be simplified and data deterioration can be prevented.
Hereinafter, the best mode of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

As shown in FIG. 2, the road surface

On the other hand, the

In addition, about the installation location of the calculating
Next, a road surface state estimating method according to the best mode will be described.
When the road surface
On the other hand, the tire tread 20T has a natural vibration frequency determined by its size, tread pattern, rubber elastic constant, and the like. For example, when the surface of the tire tread 20T is hit with a hammer or the like, the tire tread 20T has a specific frequency. Is known to vibrate significantly. FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating a result of frequency analysis of the detected vibration waveform detected by the acceleration sensor 11 installed in the
The natural vibration of the tire tread 20T transmitted to the
In the road surface
In the vibration level detecting means 13 detects the natural frequency magnitude of DoNaru amount of tires extracted at the natural frequency extraction means 12. In the road surface condition estimating means 14, the threshold set by the threshold setting section 14a and the magnitude of the vibration component detected by the vibration level detecting means 13 are compared by the comparison determining section 14b, and the vibration level is larger than the threshold. In this case, it is determined that the road surface is a low-friction road, and when the vibration level is equal to or lower than the threshold value, the road surface is determined to be a high-friction road, thereby estimating the road surface state during traveling.
As the tire for estimating the road surface condition, as in the case of the
In addition, on the low friction road surface, as described above, the vicinity of the grounding kicking edge becomes a slipping region, so that the block having a short length in the tire circumferential direction slides and vibrates when kicking out. Easy to excite. On the contrary, in a block having a long tire circumferential direction, even if the rear end is kicked out, the front end is in the fixing region, so that the vibration is reduced and it is difficult to excite the natural vibration of the tire tread. Specifically, when the length of the
As described above, in this best mode, the
Further, a vehicle control device comprising the road surface
In the best mode, the road surface
[Example]
Three types of tires having tread patterns as shown in FIGS. 6 (a) to 6 (c) are produced with passenger tires having a tire size of 225 / 45R17, and the road surface according to the present invention is applied to a vehicle equipped with these tires.
