Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for estimating a road surface condition during traveling, and a vehicle control method.
In order to improve the running stability of an automobile, it is required to accurately estimate the friction coefficient between the tire and the road surface (road surface friction coefficient) or the ground contact state of the tire and feed back to the vehicle control. If the road surface friction coefficient and the ground contact state of the tire can be estimated in advance, for example, more advanced control of the ABS brake or the like can be performed before the risk avoidance operation such as braking / driving or steering, and safety is further improved. Expected to increase.
As a method of estimating the road surface friction coefficient, for example, after detecting the wheel speed and detecting the wheel speed fluctuation Δω when receiving the disturbance ΔT from the detected wheel speed signal ω, the road surface friction coefficient Δω is satisfied. The wheel transfer function is identified by the method of least squares, the gradient of the road surface μ is estimated, and the braking force of the vehicle is determined from the relationship between the gradient of the road surface μ, the braking force of the vehicle determined in advance, and the gradient of the road surface μ. And a method of estimating the slope of the road surface μ when the slip ratio is zero has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Further, as shown in FIG. 10, a sensing block 52H having a height higher than that of the tread surface and a sensing block 52L having a height lower than that of the tread surface are formed on the tire tread portion 51 of the
However, in the method of estimating the slope of the road surface μ when the slip ratio is zero from the slope of the road surface μ obtained based on the wheel speed and the estimated braking force of the vehicle, the force generated between the tire and the road surface Since there is no information, the estimation time is required, and there is a limit to the followability to the road surface change.
Further, in the method of estimating the road surface friction coefficient from the difference in strain level detected by the strain gauges 53H and 53L attached to the sensing blocks 52H and 52L having different heights, the strain gauges 53H and 53L are applied to the blocks directly in contact with the road surface. Therefore, there is a problem in terms of durability of the sensor.
The present invention has been made in view of the conventional problems, and provides a method, an apparatus thereof, and a vehicle control method capable of accurately estimating a road surface state during traveling without attaching a sensor to a tire. The purpose is to do.
As a result of intensive studies, the inventor has not only compressed the tread in the front-rear direction but also the width direction in the tire tread, and the compression force acting on the tread depends on the road surface friction coefficient. By providing a periodic structure in the tire circumferential direction and detecting the magnitude of tread vibration corresponding to the above period, the road surface condition during traveling can be accurately obtained without providing a sensor on the tire. The inventors have found that it can be estimated and have arrived at the present invention.
That is, the invention according to
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the road surface state estimating method according to the first aspect, the structure that is periodically formed along the tire circumferential direction at the end of the tread extends along the tire circumferential direction of the tread. It is produced by a sipe formed periodically in the tire circumferential direction.
A third aspect of the present invention is the road surface state estimating method according to the second aspect, wherein the sipe is provided in a tire tread surface during straight running and provided on a tire shoulder portion. .
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the road surface state estimating method according to the second or third aspect, the circumferential length of the sipe is equal to or greater than the initial groove depth of the sipe.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the road surface state estimating method according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, the vibration of the tread is detected at the lower part of the vehicle spring.
The invention according to
The invention according to
According to the present invention, a structure such as a sipe extending in the tire circumferential direction is periodically produced along the tire circumferential direction of the tread, and the period of the structure increases in accordance with the size of the road surface friction coefficient. Since the tread vibration due to the nature is detected and the road surface state is estimated, the road surface state during traveling can be accurately estimated.
In addition, if the sipes are provided in the tire shoulder surface during straight running and on the tire shoulder portion where a greater lateral force than the tire center portion is provided, the vibration level to be detected will be increased. The accuracy can be further improved.
Furthermore, if the length of the sipe in the circumferential direction is equal to or greater than the initial groove depth of the sipe (groove depth in a new tire), deformation due to lateral force can be increased, and thus the estimation accuracy is improved.
Further, by detecting the vibration of the tread at the lower part of the vehicle spring, it is not necessary to attach the sensor to the tire, so that the tire production efficiency is improved. Further, the durability of the sensor can be improved as compared with the case where the sensor is mounted on the tire portion, and the replacement of the sensor is facilitated.
If the driving state of the vehicle is controlled by controlling the ABS brake or the like based on the estimated road surface state, the safety of the vehicle can be further improved.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail through embodiments. However, the following embodiments do not limit the invention according to the claims, and all combinations of features described in the embodiments are included. It is not necessarily essential for the solution of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a view showing a tread 11 of a road surface condition estimation tire (hereinafter referred to as a tire) 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The tread 11 has a plurality of circumferential grooves 12 (extending along the tire circumferential direction). 12a-12d) and a plurality of land portions 13 (13a-13c, 13m, 13n) partitioned by the
The
Since the first and
There is no restriction on the circumferential lengths L 1 and L 2 of the first and second

The vibration level detection means 25 extracts vibration components at the detection frequencies f 1 and f 2 from the vibration spectrum obtained by the frequency analysis means 23, respectively, and the vibration levels Gy 1 and Gy 2 which are the magnitudes thereof. Are detected respectively.
The tire ground contact state estimation means 26 compares the threshold value setting unit 26a for setting the vibration level threshold value K with the vibration level Gy detected by the vibration level detection means 25 and the threshold value K to determine the road surface condition. 26b, when the vibration level Gy is smaller than the threshold value K, it is estimated that the road surface friction coefficient is low, and when the vibration level Gy is larger than the threshold value K, the road surface friction coefficient is estimated. Is estimated to be a high μ road.
In this example, since the vibration levels Gy 1 and Gy 2 at the two detection frequencies f 1 and f 2 are detected, the threshold value K must be set for each of the detection frequencies f 1 and f 2 . Here, the threshold value at the frequency f 1 is K 1 , and the threshold value at the frequency f 2 is K 2 .
Next, the relationship between the road surface
Since the tread 11 is deformed from a substantially arc shape to a flat surface within the tread surface, the tread 11 receives a compressive force not only in the front-rear direction but also in the width direction. At this time, the easily deformable structure regions R1 and R2 in which the first and
In order to confirm this, as shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the side surface of the
FIG. 6 shows a time-series waveform of vibration in the tire width direction of the tread 11 when the vehicle travels on a low μ road.
As is clear from FIGS. 5 and 6, the time-series waveform of the portion where the
On the other hand, in the low μ road, the road surface restraining force is small, so that the compressive deformation in the width direction is not clear.
Therefore, the easily deformable structure regions and the normal deformable regions such as the easily deformable structure regions R1 and R2 are periodically formed along the tire circumferential direction, and the vibration of the tread 11 in the tire width direction synchronized with the rotation cycle is formed. By detecting the components, the road surface condition can be estimated.
FIG. 7 shows that the vehicle equipped with the road surface
The vibration peak occurs each time the
In the tire ground contact
On the other hand, the
The vibration level detection means 25 detects the vibration levels Gy 1 and Gy 2 at the frequencies f 1 and f 2 from the vibration spectrum sent from the frequency analysis means 23 and sends them to the tire ground contact state estimation means 26. The tire contact state estimation means 26 compares the vibration levels Gy 1 and Gy 2 with preset vibration level threshold values K 1 and K 2 , respectively, and the vibration level Gy 1 is greater than or equal to the threshold value K 1 and vibrations are detected. When the level Gy 2 is equal to or greater than the threshold value K 2 , it is estimated that the road surface is a high μ road. Further, when the vibration level Gy 1 is less than the threshold value K 1 or the vibration level Gy 2 is less than the threshold value K 2 , that is, when at least one of the above-mentioned Gy 1 and Gy 2 does not satisfy the high μ road condition. The road surface is estimated to be a low μ road.

Further, in the above example, detection by specifying the frequencies f 1, f 2, although vibration levels Gy 1 of the above frequencies f 1, f 2, Gy 2 were respectively detected, respectively the band per each frequency f 1, f 2 set width Delta] f 1, Delta] f 2, respectively, the bandwidth value in the [f 1 -Δf 1/2] ~ [
In addition, as a method for determining the road surface state in the case of two detected vibration levels, it is not always necessary to determine that both vibration levels Gy are equal to or higher than the threshold value K. When the vibration level Gy is equal to or higher than the threshold value K, it may be estimated that the road surface is a high μ road.
In the above example, the frequency spectrum of the vibration detected by the
In the above example, the
Moreover, although the said example demonstrated the
In an actual tire, when the
By the way, as shown in FIG. 8C, when a part of the
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 8C, when a part of the
At this time, it is desirable that the distance Δl from the end of the closed sipe 19z to the
In the above example, the first and
Alternatively, the block ends need not be equally spaced as long as the center positions of the blocks are equally spaced. Further, a pattern in which sipes in the tire width direction are equally spaced in the tire circumferential direction may be used.
In any case, it is preferable that the portion forming the periodic structure in the tire circumferential direction is a shoulder portion in the tire tread.
Sipes extending along the circumferential direction were periodically formed in the tire circumferential direction on the left and right shoulder portions of the tread of a passenger car tire having a tire size of 225 / 45R17.
The length of the sipe formed on the left shoulder is 30 mm and the period is 70 mm.
The sipe formed on the right shoulder has a length of 20 mm and a period of 50 mm.
A vehicle in which the above tire is mounted on a tire on the left front side of the vehicle is set to a low μ road (μ≈0) from an asphalt road (μ≈1.0) at a wheel rotation speed of 31.2 km / h (variation width 0.6 km / h). .2), and after passing, entered the asphalt road again.
In addition, an acceleration sensor is installed in the knuckle of the vehicle, acceleration data is measured at a sampling rate of 1 kHz, and the frequency distribution of the acceleration is obtained to obtain the vibration level time of the vibration component at the frequency position estimated from the sipe period. Changes were measured.
The peak position of vibration caused by the sipe formed on the left shoulder portion can be specified as f 1 = 124 Hz from the wheel rotation speed and the sipe period. On the other hand, the peak position of the vibration caused by the sipe formed on the right shoulder is f 2 = 173 Hz.
In this example, the frequency component near f 1 = 124 Hz caused by the sipe formed on the left shoulder portion was monitored. The result is shown in the graph of FIG.
As is clear from the figure, when entering the low μ road from the asphalt road, the vibration level near f 1 = 124 Hz disappears on the low μ road, and the vibration level becomes low. Therefore, it is possible to easily determine that the road surface is a low μ road by setting the threshold indicated by K in FIG. As a result, it was confirmed that the condition of the road surface can be accurately determined.
