Description
The present invention relates to a continuous casting method and continuous casting apparatus for molten steel, and more specifically to a tundish for continuously casting high cleanliness steel, and a continuous casting method and continuous casting apparatus for steel using the same.
In the continuous casting process of steel, the refined molten steel is relayed from a container called a ladle through an intermediate container called a tundish to a mold of a continuous casting machine, and a healthy solidified shell is formed by primary cooling using the mold. The slab is manufactured by promoting solidification by secondary cooling by watering from a cooling nozzle formed and subsequently attached to a support segment disposed below the mold.
The functions of the tundish include floating separation of non-metallic inclusions in molten steel, supply of molten steel to a mold at the time of ladle replacement, supply of molten steel to a mold of multiple strands, and the like.
On the other hand, when molten steel containing a large amount of non-metallic inclusions is produced by a continuous casting process, non-metallic inclusions remain in the slab and cause defects such as defects. Therefore, various measures for reducing inclusions in molten steel have been implemented.
In tundish, in order to improve the floating separation function of nonmetallic inclusions in molten steel, a method of increasing the average residence time of molten steel has been considered. In this respect, increasing the capacity of the tundish is an effective method, but there have been economic problems such as an increase in refractory costs accompanying an increase in size and an increase in tundish maintenance costs.
Therefore, a method has been considered in which the average residence time of the molten steel is extended by a refractory weir provided inside the tundish to promote the floating of nonmetallic inclusions in the molten steel. In the past, various proposals have been made regarding the shape and arrangement of the weirs provided inside the tundish in order to efficiently float and separate nonmetallic inclusions.

In order to improve the flow state of the molten steel by the weir provided in the tundish, and to float and separate non-metallic inclusions in the molten steel, the immersion position of the long nozzle that injects the molten steel from the ladle to the tundish, and a stopper or In the tundish by increasing both the moving path length and moving time of the molten steel containing non-metallic inclusions between the position of the outlet that relays the molten steel from the tundish to the mold via the sliding nozzle. It is effective to increase the average residence time of the molten steel.
Furthermore, since the temperature of the molten steel existing inside the tundish is not uniform and there is thermal convection due to temperature differences, it is necessary to consider the thermal convection in the tundish in order to properly control the flow state of the molten steel. There is.

The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and is not easily affected by thermal convection of molten steel inside a tundish. An object is to provide a continuous casting apparatus.
The steel continuous casting method according to the first aspect of the present invention receives and stores molten steel injected from a ladle via a long nozzle discharge port, and relays it to a continuous casting mold via a steel outlet. In the continuous casting method of steel using the supplied tundish, a partition wall is provided between the long nozzle discharge port and the steel outlet to define the tundish in a steel receiving tank and a steel outlet tank, The molten steel is supplied from the square opening made of any one of one, two or more rectangles, squares, and parallelograms provided in the partition wall from the steel receiving tank to the steel output tank. The horizontal distance L W to the steel outlet, the vertical distance H W from the molten steel surface to the center of the opening, V 1 defined by the following equation (2), and the following equation (3 ) And V 2 defined by the following formula (1) Relationship is established.
In the equations (2) and (3), Q is the amount of molten steel per unit time flowing out from the steel outlet to the mold, S is the total area of the opening, g is the gravitational acceleration, β the volume expansion rate of the molten steel, T W is the temperature of molten steel in the molten metal surface, T S represents respectively a molten steel temperature at the bottom of the tundish. Then, T W, the changes in the type and thickness of the flux on the molten metal surface, or can be controlled by the active heat load using plasma heating.
When the amount of molten steel stored in the tundish is in a steady state, the amount of molten steel per unit time supplied to the tundish steel tank through the opening and the mold from the steel tank through the steel outlet The amount of molten steel per unit time supplied to is equal. The former, because it is expressed by the product of the opening area, the initial velocity V 1 of the molten steel flowing out to the tapping vessel from the opening, the equation (2) is derived.
If the amount of molten steel stored in the tundish is in an unsteady state, such as at the beginning or end of continuous casting, the amount of molten steel per unit time passing through the opening and the unit time flowing out from the steel outlet to the mold The amount of molten steel (Q) does not necessarily match. However, the same effect can be achieved by using V 1 defined by equation (2) as an approximate equation and providing the partition and the opening at a position where the relationship represented by equation (1) is established. Even in such a case, the expression (2) is used as the defining expression of V 1 .
In the continuous casting method of steel according to the first invention, it is preferable that the opening is in contact with a side wall of the tundish.
In the continuous casting method of steel according to the first invention, it is preferable that the opening is in contact with the bottom surface of the tundish.
In the continuous casting method of steel according to the first invention, (distance from the molten metal surface to the lower end of the opening) − (minimum value of the molten steel depth of the steel outlet) in the steel outlet is +50 mm or less. It is preferable.
On the bottom of the tundish, the flat surface may not be smooth for reasons such as refractory construction, but a level difference may be provided, but such a level difference disturbs the flow of molten steel inside the tundish. There is a possibility of hindering the floating separation of metal inclusions. However, if the condition that (distance from the molten metal surface to the lower end of the opening) − (minimum value of the molten steel depth in the steel output tank) is +50 mm or less is satisfied, the floating separation of the nonmetallic inclusions is not substantially inhibited.
The “step” means a structure accompanied by a vertical displacement at the bottom of the tundish (tapping steel tank) between the partition wall and the tapping steel outlet, for example, from the bottom of the tapping steel tank toward the molten steel surface. Including a dam-like one standing upright and one or more step-like ones (the same applies hereinafter).
Further, “the molten steel depth of the steel exit tank” refers to the distance between the top of the weir and the molten metal surface when, for example, the steel exit tank has a dam-like step.
A continuous casting apparatus for steel according to a second aspect of the present invention is a tundish that receives and stores molten steel injected from a ladle through a long nozzle discharge port and relays it to a continuous casting mold through a steel outlet. In the steel continuous casting apparatus, a partition wall is provided between the long nozzle discharge port and the steel outlet to define the tundish in a steel receiving tank and a steel outlet tank. From the tank, the molten steel is supplied from a rectangular opening made of any one of one, two or more rectangles, squares, and parallelograms provided in the partition wall , and the partition port is provided with the outlet port. The horizontal distance L W to the vertical direction, the vertical distance H W from the molten steel surface to the center of the opening, V 1 defined by the above formula (2), and the above defined formula (3) The relationship represented by the formula (1) is established between V 2 and V 2 .
In the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second invention, it is preferable that the opening is in contact with a side wall of the tundish.
In the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second invention, it is preferable that the opening is in contact with the bottom surface of the tundish.
In the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second aspect of the invention, (distance from the molten metal surface to the lower end of the opening) − (minimum value of the molten steel depth of the steel outlet) in the steel outlet is +50 mm or less. It is preferable.
The continuous casting method for steel according to the first invention and the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second invention are configured such that the tundish is discharged from the steel receiving tank by a partition wall erected between the long nozzle discharge port and the steel discharge port. defining the steel tank, upon supplying molten steel tapping tank from受鋼tank through an opening provided in the partition wall, in consideration of the influence of heat convection to flow state of molten steel inside the tundish, L w , H w , V 1 , and V 2 are provided with partition walls and openings so that the relationship represented by the above formula (1) is established. By adopting such a configuration, without increasing the size of the tundish more than necessary, the movement path length and residence time of the molten steel and the nonmetallic inclusions contained therein are increased, and the floating separation property of the nonmetallic inclusions is increased. Can improve.
In the continuous casting method for steel according to the first invention and the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second invention, when the opening is in contact with the side wall of the tundish, a horizontal distance from the partition wall to the steel outlet is required. The moving path length of the molten steel can be increased without increasing it.
In the continuous casting method for steel according to the first invention and the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second invention, when the opening is in contact with the bottom surface of the tundish, the movement path length in the vertical direction of the molten steel is increased. The moving path length of the molten steel can be increased without unnecessarily increasing the horizontal distance from the weir to the steel outlet.
In the continuous casting method for steel according to the first invention and the continuous casting apparatus for steel according to the second invention, (distance from the molten metal surface to the lower end of the opening)-(of the molten steel depth of the outgoing steel tank) If the (minimum value) is +50 mm or less, the flow path of the molten steel is not substantially reduced. Therefore, the movement time of the molten steel is not substantially reduced, and the flow path of the molten steel is not substantially limited. Path length can be maintained or increased.

V 1 (m / sec) is, for example, 0.01 ≦ V 1 ≦ 0.15.

V 2 (m / sec) is, for example, 0.05 ≦ V 1 ≦ 0.30. G represents the acceleration of gravity, and β represents the volume expansion coefficient of the molten steel.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 (A), the bottom surfaces of the
In FIG. 4, (a), (a1), (b), and (b1) are cases where d> 0. In this case, since the flow path of the molten steel is not substantially reduced by the step, the movement path length of the molten steel can be maintained without substantially reducing the residence time of the molten steel. When d <+50 mm, the distance between the top of the step and the molten steel surface decreases, and the increase in the speed of molten steel passing through the reduced portion becomes significant. It is difficult to obtain the floating separation effect.
When the
In FIG. 4, (c), (c1), (d), and (d1) are cases where d = 0. In this case, since the flow path of the molten steel does not substantially change, the residence time of the molten steel does not decrease, and the moving path length of the molten steel does not change. In addition, (d1) is a case where the bottom face of the

Next, examples carried out for confirming the effects of the present invention will be described. Here, FIG. 3 is a graph showing the relationship between the value of α and the failure occurrence rate during continuous casting of steel.
A tundish provided with a partition wall having two or one rectangular openings congruent with each other between a long nozzle for supplying molten steel from a ladle and an immersion nozzle for supplying molten steel to a mold Two types are used which are flat and do not have a step such as a weir between the partition wall and the steel outlet, and those having a weir with a height of 40 mm at a position where θ ≦ 21 °. Was continuously cast.
Note that the molten steel temperature T S near the opening and the molten steel temperature T W near the molten metal surface were measured using a thermocouple thermometer.
In a range satisfying α ≧ 1, continuous casting of steel is performed under various operating conditions (Q, number of openings, L WV , L WL , H W , L W , T W , T S ) (Examples 1 to 3). 10 ), the defect occurrence rate in the obtained slab was examined. For comparison, continuous casting of steel under operating conditions where α <1 was also performed (Comparative Examples 1 to 3), and the failure occurrence rate was similarly examined.
Table 1 below shows the operating conditions and the failure rate in each example and comparative example.
The defect occurrence rate is shown as a relative value to the defect occurrence rate in Comparative Example 1. V 1 and V 2 were calculated using the formulas (2) and (3), respectively.
FIG. 3 shows the relationship between the value of α and the defect occurrence rate obtained from Examples 1 to 10 shown in Table 1 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3.
As is clear from FIG. 3, when the value of α is less than 1 (Comparative Examples 1 to 3), the failure occurrence rate is 1.0 or more, whereas the value of α is 1.61. Thus, it can be seen that the failure occurrence rate is reduced to less than half (Examples 9 and 10 ). Increasing the value of α further reduces the failure rate, but from the results of Examples 1 to 3, when the value of α exceeds 20, the improvement effect of the failure rate due to the increase in the value of α is saturated. You can see that
