Description

【0001】

この機能を既にDSLAM(Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer)で提供している応用分野においては、分離キャパシタ31は省略が可能である。

[0001]
The present invention comprises a distributed connection for telecommunications and data processing techniques, comprising a housing with input and output contacts therein for connection to a cable or wire, thereby enabling access from the outside of these contacts It is about modules. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing such a distributed connection module.
[0002]
For example, German Patent No. 2,725,551 (Patent Document 1) is known as such a distribution type connection module. This distribution type connection module comprises a first row of connection contacts on the cable side and a second row of connection contacts on the opposite jumper side, where the information flow is Even in the reverse direction, the cable side contact can be regarded as an input contact, and the jumper side contact can be regarded as an output contact. It is possible to insert a central contact into a test or protective connector located between these contact rows. An example of such a protective connector is a three-point or five-point overvoltage protection module or a lightning protection circuit. If such an overvoltage protection element is first inserted into the central contact, the inserted central tap and possibly also the adjacent central tap cannot be accessed for inspection or testing, or The overvoltage protection element must be removed again for inspection purposes, so that the contacts are not protected during that period.
[0003]
Further, for example, German Patent No. 3,917,270 (Patent Document 2) is known as a distribution type connection module. Here, a functional element such as a lightning protection circuit can be inserted from the side or lower part of the distribution type connection module. It is. The disadvantage of this module is that it must be manufactured in a rather complicated way.
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
German Patent No. 2,725,551 [Patent Document 2]
German Patent No. 3,917,270 [0005]
A feature common to all distributed connection modules is that external functional elements must be pushed into spring-loaded contacts, which require strict requirements regarding the tolerance to tolerance voltage and tolerance current. A further disadvantage is that external functional elements cause interference with the compact module design.
[0006]
The present invention is therefore based on the technical problem to provide a distributed connection module for telecommunications and data processing technology by enabling a simpler and more compact structure. A further technical problem is to provide a method for manufacturing such a module.
[0007]
This technical problem is solved by the subject matter of the features of claims 1 to 7 of the present invention. Further advantageous refinements of the invention are evident from the dependent claims.
[0008]
For this purpose, in the present distributed connection module, the housing is designed with a cavity in which a regulating protection circuit is arranged between the input contact and the output contact. As a result, a very compact structure is possible. In this case, basically, the housing can be formed from one or more parts.
[0009]
In one preferred embodiment, the regulation protection circuit is disposed on at least one printed circuit board supported by the housing. For this purpose, it is desirable to design the housing to be composed of several parts, the printed circuit board can be pushed into the first housing part and then fixed in place by the second housing part can do. Depending on the field of application, printed circuit boards with different components can be used, and it is also much easier to replace defective printed circuit boards.
[0010]
The input contacts are preferably of the pressure contact type, so that wires and cables can be connected on the cable side quickly, reliably and flexibly using known techniques. Depending on the application field, it is desirable that the output contact is also of a pressure terminal type or a plug type connector type. The advantage of the plug-type connector is that if an off-the-shelf cable is available, the wiring process can be performed very quickly, reliably and simply by inserting the plug. On the other hand, when the cable is not an off-the-shelf cable, it is also an advantage of the present invention that a pressure contact terminal can be used.
[0011]
In a further preferred embodiment, the press contact terminal is a fork-shaped contact, thereby forming a press-fit electrical connection to the functional element. If the functional element is placed on a printed circuit board, then the contact pads are then placed on the printed circuit board, preferably on both sides, ie the front and back sides. These press-fit connections are more durable during manufacturing than soldering, and the assembly is more durable. By this method, it is possible to connect all the press contact terminals simultaneously by bringing the fork-shaped contacts into contact with the contact pads. Furthermore, this contact formation method allows simple removal, for example when removing a defective printed circuit board.
[0012]
The functional element can be a filter circuit, a signal transmission element, or a test circuit. In one preferred embodiment, the functional element is an overvoltage protection circuit, in particular a lightning protection circuit. This realizes integrated overvoltage protection that avoids any subsequent jumper wire formation, inspection or testing, or interference when the module set is assembled.
[0013]
In a further preferred embodiment, each input contact and output contact has a separate contact coupled thereto, which is accessible from the outside. The separation contacts are arranged in a line behind the functional elements. If the functional element is of an overvoltage protection type, the separation contact is fully protected.
[0014]
When the functional element is disposed on the printed circuit board, the separation contact is preferably disposed at the lower part of the printed circuit board, and is desirably accessible from both sides like the input contact.
[0015]
In a further preferred embodiment, it is desirable to place the output contact on the opposite side of the housing from the input contact. This achieves a clear separation between the cable side and the jumper line side and does not cause interference between individual wires and cables.
[0016]
If the input and / or output contacts are of the pressure contact type, these contacts will be sized relative to each other so that existing standard connection tools can be used. This suppresses the development of new and costly connection tools and simplifies the handling of new distribution connection modules that are combined with existing distribution connection modules.
[0017]
In a further preferred embodiment, the ground wire on the printed circuit board is formed by annular or fork-like contacts, which are accessible from the outside. For this purpose, it is desirable to couple a plurality of ground wires on the printed circuit board. Thereby, a molded rod can be pushed into the distribution connection module with a suitable hole or opening, which is connected to an annular or forked contact.
[0018]
In a further preferred embodiment, the ground wire is designed to be accessible from the input contact side. This makes it possible to further use the present distribution type connection module as an AB type or an ABS type in which a ground wire is connected to a shield.
[0019]
In order to produce a distributed connection module according to the invention, a printed circuit board having functional elements is first pushed into a first housing part and latched with a second housing part fitted with an input contact. The advantage of this method is that the part placement process and latch engagement can be easily automated. There are essentially various variations in embodiments having separate contacts.
[0020]
In a first preferred embodiment, the separation contact is first attached to the printed circuit board and the separation contact is fastened onto the printed circuit board in an appropriate manner. Thereafter, the printed circuit board with the separation contact fastened is pushed into the first housing part and then engaged with the second housing part. As a result, there is no need for mounting components that adversely affect the robustness of the housing.
[0021]
In other embodiments, the printed circuit board is first pushed into the first housing part, after which the separation contact is attached to the printed circuit board and fastened from the bottom of the housing. This makes it very easy to improve the distribution connection module with the separation contacts.
[0022]
The invention is explained in more detail in the following text referring to preferred embodiments.
[0023]
FIG. 1 shows a cross section of the distribution-type connection module 1, and a test connector 2 is inserted into the module 1. The distribution type connection module 1 includes a housing 3, an input contact 4, an output contact 5, and a printed circuit board 6 disposed in a cavity inside the housing 3. The input connector 4 is a pressure contact type that contacts the wire 7, and the wire 7 is accessible from the first end face 8 of the housing 3. On the side facing the printed circuit board 6, the input contact 4 is formed to have a fork-shaped contact 9. The fork-shaped contacts 9 are engaged so as to surround the printed circuit board 6 and form a press-fit connection with the contact pads arranged on the front and back surfaces of the printed circuit board 6. A plurality of adjustment protection circuits are arranged on the printed circuit board 6, and this circuit is positioned between the input contact 4 and the output contact 5. In this case, two of the adjustment protection elements are coupled to the input contact 4, and the other two are coupled to the output contact 5. The regulating protective element comprises a lightning arrester 11, two PTC thermistors 12, and two diodes 13. The ground wire of these elements is connected to a forming rod 15 penetrating the housing 3 through an annular or fork-shaped contact 14. The separation contact 10 arranged on the back side of the adjustment protection element is provided on the lower surface of the printed circuit board 6, and the printed circuit board 6 is used for electrical connection between the adjustment protection element and the separation contact 10, for example, of the diode 13. A plating penetrating the circuit board is formed in the vicinity. The separation contact 10 is disposed on a support 16 fixed to the housing 3. The separating contact is prestressed spring-wise by the fastening element 17, so that the bent contacts 18, 19 come into contact with the printed circuit board 6. Electrical connection to the output contact 5 is made behind the contact 19, and the output contact 5 is electrically connected to the printed circuit board 6 through a soldered pressure type or plug type contact 20. Therefore, without the test connector 2, the input contact 4 is connected to the output contact 5 through the adjustment protection element and the downstream separation contact 10. For testing purposes, the test connector 2 with the substrate 27 can then be pushed into the housing 3 from the end face 8. As a result, the contact 19 of the separation contact 10 is pressed away from the printed circuit board 6 as shown, and the electrical connection between the input contact 4 and the output contact 5 is released, or the test connector 2 is Connection is made. Since the separation contact 10 is arranged behind the adjustment protection element, the separation contact 10 remains sufficiently protected against overvoltage even during the test using the test connector 2. . Since a large force can be generated when connecting the crimp contact, the plastic holding or supporting element is in the area of the fork-shaped contact 9 and latches with the printed circuit board 6 over the entire width of the printed circuit board 6. The fork-shaped contacts 9 can be fixed on the printed circuit board 6.
[0024]
FIG. 2 is a front view of the end face 8 of the distribution type connection module 1. FIG. The distribution connection module 1 has 16 input contacts 4, which are combined in pairs in use, for example to connect to a wire pair. An access portion 23 for the test connector 21 is arranged under each input contact 4 pair. The separation contact can be connected to the outside via the access unit 23. In this case, the separation terminals of the two input contacts 4 are operated simultaneously by inserting the test connector 23 into the access unit 23. The housing 3 also has a cable guide 24 and a strain relief element 25.
[0025]
FIG. 3 schematically shows a circuit arrangement of a distributed connection module having an adjustment protection element as a functional element. The circuit has 16 input contacts a1, b1 to a8, b8 and 16 output contacts a1 ', b1' to a8 ', b8', each a and b contact pair is connected to a pair of wires Use. Here, the input and output contacts a, b and a ′, b ′ respectively correspond to the input contact 4 and the output contact 5 of FIG. In this case, two input contacts are coupled to the respective regulation protection elements. As already explained in FIG. 1, each regulating protection element comprises a three-pole type arrester 11, two PTC thermistors 12, and two diodes 13. Each lightning arrester 11 has a fail-safe contact 26 having at least one fuse element that permanently shorts the two input contacts when an overvoltage occurs. Two separation contacts 10 are arranged between the adjustment protection element and the output terminal coupled thereto.
[0026]
FIG. 4 schematically shows a manufacturing method of the distribution type connection module 1 shown in FIG. In the first step A, the separation contact 10 having the fastening element 17 is attached to a common support or a separate support under the printed circuit board 6. Thereafter, in step B, the printed circuit board 6 on which the components are entirely mounted is pushed into the cavity of the first housing component 21. Thereafter, in step C, the second housing part 22 on which the input contact 4 is arranged is latched with the first housing part 21.
[0027]
FIG. 5 shows another method. In this case, first, in the first step A, the printed circuit board 6 on which the components are entirely mounted is pushed into the first housing component 21, and then the separation contact 10 is connected to the first housing component in the second step B. Insert from below 21. Further, in the third step C, the second housing part 22 is latched with the first housing part 21.
[0028]
FIG. 6 shows a block diagram of a distributed connection module 1 having an ADSL splitter as a functional group, where ADSL is an asymmetric digital subscriber line. ADSL is a data transmission technology for providing broadband data communication over networks accessed by conventional copper cables. The ADSL system is designed as a two-way transmission system using two communication directions (upstream and downstream) without exception. The downstream channel toward the user side is broadband, while the upstream channel in the opposite direction has a relatively narrow band and is primarily intended for transmission of control messages. ADSL applications include video on demand and multimedia internet applications, among others. The illustrated distribution connection module 1 includes an input contact 4, an output contact 5, and a test access unit 28. Further, the distribution type connection module 1 has at least one printed circuit board 6, and an overvoltage protection unit 29, a low-pass filter 30 and a separation capacitor 31 are arranged on the printed circuit board 6. The ADSL splitter is formed by a low-pass filter 30 and a separation capacitor 31, and separates a high-frequency ADSL signal generated at the right output contact 5 from a low-frequency POTS or ISDN signal. On the other hand, the input contact 4 indicates an access part on the subscriber side. For the sake of clarity, the signal is transmitted from the input contact 4 to the output contact 5 or vice versa because it is a two-way transmission, so the terms “input” and “output” are used in this distributed connection module. It should be noted that the information processing technology is associated with a different information processing technology. The isolation capacitor 31 is used to isolate the DC drive voltage from the ADSL port. In an application field where this function is already provided by a DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer), the separation capacitor 31 can be omitted. The filter characteristics of the low-pass filter 30 are desirably adapted to the ADSL system used in DTAG. Note that DTAG is used only in the frequency band of 138 kHz and is therefore compatible with ISDN. Basically, other forms specially optimized according to individual services are also possible. The additional overvoltage protector 29 is used for protection against temporary overvoltages and improves the assembly's ability to withstand voltages caused by pulsed interference, for example at 4 kV. The test access unit 28 is preferably a plug-type connector, in particular, a SUB-D plug-type connector type, in order to constantly supply a signal to an external switching element and a test device or return a signal on a subscriber line. Used for. This splitter can be operated without an external loop circuit by inserting an appropriate shorting connector. The main type of operation for the ADSL splitter is similar to this main distributed connection module.
[0029]
FIG. 7 shows an exploded view of the distribution type connection module 1 shown in FIG. The distribution type connection module 1 has a first housing part 21 and a second housing part 22. The second housing part 22 has a row of input contacts 4 and output contacts 5, each of the pressure contact terminal type. The input contact 4 and the output contact 5 are each arranged in a contact strip shape, and the upper parts 32 and 33 of the housing are respectively latched by the press contact terminals. Latch engaging elements 34 are formed in the upper parts 32, 33 of the housing, respectively, which engage with latch engaging grooves provided in the lower parts 36, 37 of the contact strip. The contact strip is preferably a strip formed of ABS resin, so that it can be connected to a shield combined with a double conductor, thus realizing improved crosstalk attenuation between subscriber lines of ADSL signals. The The output contact 5 takes the form of a POTS / ISDN line port. The second housing part 22 also has a latch engaging means 38 which couples with the latch engaging groove 39 of the first housing part 21. Two printed circuit boards 6 are arranged in the first housing part 21 and are electrically connected to the input contact 4 and the output contact 5. The test access section 28 and the other output contact 5 for the ADSL port are arranged on the back surface of the first housing part 21, and each of these is preferably a SUB-D plug type connector type. A cable bush 24 and two annular contacts 14 are formed on the side wall of the first housing component 21, and the ground wire of the printed circuit board 6 is connected to a forming rod used as a ground rail through these.
