Description
前記負極が、集電体と、その少なくとも一面に形成された、Siを含有する活物質を含む活物質層を有し、
前記非水溶媒が、下記式(1)で表される化合物及び下記式(2)で表される化合物を含み、該非水溶媒に占める式(1)で表される化合物の割合が15〜40体積%であり、該非水溶媒に占める式(2)で表される化合物の割合が55〜85体積%であることを特徴とする非水電解液二次電池を提供するものである。
LiCoxM1-xO2 (1)
(式中、xは1未満の正数を示し、Mは金属元素を示す。)
・ピロリン酸銅三水和物:85〜120g/l
・ピロリン酸カリウム:300〜600g/l
・硝酸カリウム:15〜65g/l
・浴温度:45〜60℃
・電流密度:1〜7A/dm2
・pH:アンモニア水とポリリン酸を添加してpH7.1〜9.5になるように調整する。
・硫酸ニッケル:100〜250g/l
・塩化アンモニウム:15〜30g/l
・ホウ酸:15〜45g/l
・浴温度:45〜60℃
・電流密度:1〜7A/dm2
・pH:25重量%アンモニア水:100〜300g/lの範囲でpH8〜11となるように調整する。
このアルカリ性のニッケル浴と前述のピロリン酸銅浴とを比べると、ピロリン酸銅浴を用いた場合の方が活物質層12内に適度な空隙が形成される傾向があり、負極の長寿命化を図りやすいので好ましい。
(1)負極の製造
厚さ18μmの電解銅箔からなる集電体を室温で30秒間酸洗浄した。処理後、15秒間純水洗浄した。集電体の両面上にケイ素からなる粒子を含むスラリーを膜厚15μmになるように塗布し塗膜を形成した。スラリーの組成は、粒子:スチレンブタジエンラバー(結着剤):アセチレンブラック=100:1.7:2(重量比)であった。粒子の平均粒径D50は2μmであった。平均粒径D50は、日機装(株)製のマイクロトラック粒度分布測定装置(No.9320−X100)を使用して測定した。

・ピロリン酸カリウム:450g/l
・硝酸カリウム:30g/l
・P比:7.7
・浴温度:50℃
・電流密度:3A/dm2
・pH:アンモニア水とポリリン酸を添加してpH8.2になるように調整した。
LiCoO2を正極活物質として用いた。この正極活物質を、アセチレンブラック(AB)及びポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)と共に、溶媒であるN−メチルピロリドンに懸濁させ正極合剤を得た。配合の重量比は、LiCoO2:AB:PVdF=88:6:6とした。この正極合剤をアルミニウム箔(厚さ20μm)からなる集電体にアプリケータを用いて塗布し、120℃で乾燥した後、荷重0.2ton/cmのロールプレスを行い、正極を得た。この正極の厚さは約70μmであった。この正極を直径13mmの大きさに打ち抜いた。
このようにして得られた正極及び負極を、20μm厚のポリエチレン製多孔質フィルムからなるセパレータを挟んで対向させた。電解液における非水溶媒として、式(1)で表される化合物においてR1がFでR2がHであるもの(以下、F−ECという)と、式(2)で表される化合物においてR3〜R6のすべてがHであるもの(以下、DECという)と、式(2)で表される化合物においてR3のみがFであるもの(以下、F−DECという)とを、以下の表1に示す割合で混合した混合溶媒を用いた。この混合溶媒に1mol/lのLiPF6を溶解した溶液に対して、ビニレンカーボネートを2体積%外添したものを非水電解液として用いた。これによって2032型コイン電池を製造した。得られた電池におけるCo/Siの重量比は、以下の表1に示すとおりであった。
非水電解液における非水溶媒として、F−ECと、DECと、F−DECとを、以下の表1に示す割合で混合した混合溶媒を用い、且つ正極活物質の量及び負極活物質の量を同表に示す値とした以外は、実施例1と同様にしてリチウム二次電池を得た。
ジエチルカーボネート非水溶媒に、LiClO4を1mol/lの濃度で溶解させた非水電解液を用意した。25℃のアルゴン雰囲気中において、この非水電解液中に、実施例2−1で得られた負極と600μm厚のリチウム箔とをSUS製メッシュ(100mesh)を介して浸漬させ、負極と金属リチウムとを電気化学的に短絡させた。これによって負極中の活物質にリチウムを吸蔵させた。リチウムの吸蔵量は、浸漬時間を40分とすることで、負極活物質の初期充電理論容量に対して25%とした。正確な吸蔵量の確認はICP発光分析により確認を行った。得られた負極はリチウム塩の除去を目的として、ジメチルカーボネートにて洗浄を行い、真空乾燥により溶媒の除去を行った。このようにして得られた、リチウムを吸蔵した負極活物質を有する負極を用い、実施例1と同様にしてリチウム二次電池を得た。
実施例及び比較例で得られたリチウム二次電池について、以下の方法で100サイクル目の容量維持率及びレート特性を評価した。それらの結果を以下の表1に示す。
13サイクル目の放電容量及び100サイクル目の放電容量を測定した。100サイクル目の容量維持率は、100サイクル目の放電容量を13サイクル目の放電容量で除し、100を乗じて算出した。充電条件は0.5C、4.2Vで、定電流・定電圧とした。放電条件は0.5C、2.7Vで、定電流とした。但し、1サイクル目の充放電は0.05Cとし、2〜4サイクル目の充放電は0.1C、5〜7サイクル目の充放電は0.5C、8〜10サイクル目の充放電は1Cとした。
上述の容量維持率の測定において、13サイクル目の放電容量を1サイクル目の放電容量で除し、これに100を乗じた値をレート特性とした。
Claims (8)
- 前記式(1)で表される化合物においてR1及びR2のうちいずれか一方のみがFであり、他方がHである請求の範囲第1項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記式(2)で表される化合物においてR3〜R6がHである請求の範囲第1項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記式(2)で表される化合物が、同式においてR3〜R6がHである化合物と、同式においてR3〜R6の少なくとも一つがFである化合物との混合物である請求の範囲第1項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記式(2)で表される化合物においてR3〜R6の少なくとも一つがFである化合物の、前記非水溶媒に占める割合が10〜40体積%である請求の範囲第4項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記Siを含む活物質は、電池の充電開始前においてリチウムを含有している請求の範囲第1項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記負極が負極活物質層を有し、該負極活物質層が、Siを含む活物質の粒子を含有し、該粒子の表面の少なくとも一部がリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料で被覆されていると共に、該金属材料で被覆された該粒子どうしの間に空隙が形成されている請求の範囲第1項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記正極が、Li及びCoを構成元素として含有するリチウム遷移金属複合酸化物を含む正極活物質層を有し、
前記負極におけるSiに対する、前記正極におけるCoの重量比(Co/Si)が0.3〜5.5の範囲内である請求の範囲第1項記載の非水電解液二次電池。
