Claims (5)
- 内燃機関の静電クランクケースの換気システムにおける静電式液滴コレクタ(EDC)アセンブリであって、
前記システム内の取付ヘッドに着脱自在に取付可能なチューブ状のキャニスターを含み、前記キャニスターは、前記内燃機関からのガスを受け入れる入口を有し、前記取付ヘッドは、クリーンなガスを放出するための出口を有し、
さらに、前記キャニスター内に設けられ、かつ取付ヘッドから、前記キャニスターと共に1つのユニットとして取外し可能であるコロナ放電電極アセンブリとを含み、
前記キャニスターは、1つの軸線に沿って軸方向に伸び、前記取付ヘッドに面する開放した軸方向端部を有し、
前記取付ヘッドは、該ヘッド底部に固着される第1脚部と、該第1脚部から半径方向内方に伸びて下方に垂下した第2脚部とを有する断面逆L字形状の環状フランジを有しており、
さらに、前記キャニスターに取り付けられた第1セグメント、及び前記取付ヘッドに着脱自在に取り付け可能な第2セグメントを有する取付プレートと、この取付プレートに取り付けられた電気絶縁体とを含み、前記コロナ放電電極アセンブリは、前記電気絶縁体に取り付けられた電気導体を含み、
前記取付プレートは、前記キャニスターに取り付けられた前記第1セグメントを有するナットプレートを構成し、前記第1セグメントは、環状のガスケットによって前記取付ヘッドにシールされ、前記ナットプレートは、前記取付ヘッドに螺合する前記第2セグメントを有し、前記ナットプレートの前記第1セグメントは、前記キャニスターの開放した前記軸方向端部で前記キャニスターに取付けられ、さらに、前記第1セグメントと前記軸方向端部は、前記環状のガスケットによって前記取付ヘッドにシールされ、
前記ナットプレートは、前記第1セグメントから前記第2セグメントに半径方向内側に伸びる中間肩部セグメントを有し、前記第1セグメントは、前記中間肩部セグメントから軸方向上方に伸びて、前記ガスケットを支持しており、前記第2セグメントは、前記中間肩部セグメントから軸方向下方に伸び、前記第2セグメントの内面に前記環状フランジの第2脚部の外面に形成された外ねじ部に螺合するねじ部を有しており、
前記電気絶縁体は、前記ナットプレートの第2セグメントの外面に沿って軸方向上方に伸びる第1脚部と、前記ナットプレートの第2セグメントの下側で、前記第1脚部から半径方向内側に伸びる第2脚部とを有する断面L字形状の外側フランジを含むことを特徴とするEDCアセンブリ。 - 前記電気絶縁体は、1つ以上の開口を有し、前記ガスが前記開口からプレナム内に流れ、前記プレナムは、前記ナットプレートの第2セグメントと前記取付ヘッドとが螺合するねじ部の半径方向内側に有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のEDCアセンブリ。
- 前記断面逆L字形状の環状フランジの第2脚部は、軸方向下方に下方端部まで伸び、前記下方端部は、前記電気絶縁体の前記断面L字形状の外側フランジの第2脚部の上方にあり、前記開口は、前記断面逆L字形状の環状フランジの前記第2脚部の半径方向内側にある前記電気絶縁体の前記断面L字形状の外側フランジの前記第2脚部を通って軸方向に伸びていることを特徴とする請求項2記載のEDCアセンブリ。
- ガスは、前記入口から前記電気導体と前記キャニスター間の第1環状体を通って流れ、前記電気絶縁体は、外側に伸びる前記断面L字形状の外側フランジを備える外側部分と、軸方向上方に伸びて前記プレナム内に入り、前記プレナムを定めて第2環状体によって、前記断面逆L字形状の環状フランジの第2脚部の半径方向内側に離間する円柱状の支柱を備える中央部分と、を有する1つのディスクからなり、前記第2環状体は、前記第1環状体よりもより小さい外径を有することを特徴とする請求項3記載のEDCアセンブリ。
- 前記第2環状体の外径は、前記第1環状体の内径にほぼ等しいことを特徴とする請求項4記載のEDCアセンブリ。
