Description
【0001】
【0062】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fuel cell system that generates electricity by reacting oxygen in the air with a fuel fluid. About .
[0002]
[Prior art]
A fuel cell is a means for generating electric power in a power generator by supplying a fuel fluid, and is expected to be mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile and used as an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle. From the structure that facilitates downsizing, the present invention is not limited to applications such as dry batteries and rechargeable batteries, but is being applied to portable devices, for example, at the stage of research and development. In a fuel cell, when hydrogen is used as a fuel, the hydrogen side electrode (anode), which is a negative electrode, has H 2 → 2H + + 2e − The following reaction occurs. When oxygen is used as the oxidant, the oxygen side electrode (cathode), which is the positive electrode, is similarly 1 / 2O. 2 + 2H + + 2e − = H 2 A reaction such as O occurs and water is produced.
[0003]
As such a fuel cell, an open-air type that takes in oxygen used for power generation from the atmosphere has been proposed. In addition, a fuel cell can increase the amount of output power by combining a plurality of unit elements (unit cells). For example, electrodes (diffusion layers) are provided on both sides of a polymer electrolyte layer (conductor film). A fuel cell having a stack structure in which unit elements are formed by sandwiching a formed joined body between separators and these unit elements are stacked has been developed.
[0004]
In fuel cell power generation, the polymer electrolyte layer conducts protons associated with chemical reactions, so it is necessary to manage the wet state and temperature state of the polymer electrolyte layer in order to continue efficient power generation reactions. is there. Moreover, the heat generated by power generation and the humidity of water generated by power generation always change depending on the amount of power generation and the usage environment. In particular, when power generation is performed at low current in a low humidity and high temperature environment, the amount of moisture generated by power generation is small, and the power generation reaction in the fuel cell is an exothermic reaction. Since this portion is likely to be at a high temperature, the polymer electrolyte layer of the power generator may be dried, which may hinder stable power generation in the fuel cell. On the other hand, when high-current power generation is performed in an environment where the outside air is high in humidity and temperature, water accumulates in the fuel gas flow path formed in the separator because the amount of water generated by power generation is large. As a result, the diffusion layer of the power generation body is submerged, resulting in a problem that power generation by the fuel cell cannot be performed sufficiently.
[0005]
In a conventional air-release type fuel cell system, a fan is provided at an air supply port for taking air into the fuel cell in order to maintain the wet state of the polymer electrolyte layer and to control the temperature state. By rotating the fan and supplying air from the outside of the fuel cell, the oxygen necessary for power generation is taken in, and at the same time, the moisture in the fuel cell generated by the power generation reaction is removed and the heat generated by the power generation reaction is released. Do.
[0006]
However, since the air is supplied to the fuel cell by a single fan, and the single fan has both the drying and cooling functions of the fuel cell, the air is blown by the fan when the fuel cell is at low temperature and high humidity. However, there is a problem that the humidity is lowered but the temperature is further lowered and the power generation efficiency is lowered. Similarly, when the air is blown by a fan in a situation where the fuel cell is at a high temperature and a low humidity, there is a problem that the temperature is lowered but the humidity is further lowered and the power generation efficiency is lowered.
[0007]
The above-mentioned problems indicate that it is difficult to achieve both the suppression of the temperature rise of the fuel cell and the control of the amount of water contained in the fuel cell during power generation by the fuel cell. There is a need for technologies that can be solved. In particular, in a fuel cell having a stack structure, the fuel cell is configured to smoothly flow fuel gas through a flow path formed in a plurality of separators and appropriately absorb moisture in a joined body constituting the fuel cell. There is a need for a technology that can take in air containing oxygen from the outside and stably output the required power.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Book The claimed invention can control the temperature and humidity inside the fuel cell to the optimum environment for power generation in response to various conditions inside the fuel cell and the outside environment, and can stably output the required power. Fuel cell system The The issue is to provide.
[0015]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
To solve the above problems, the present invention Burning The fuel cell system is a fuel cell system having a fuel cell that generates electric power by reacting oxygen in the air with a fuel fluid, and the fuel cell is integrally formed adjacent to the power generation unit. And an air supply means for supplying an inflowing gas containing oxygen to the power generation unit, provided at a position facing the power generation unit. And an air supply fan also serving as a drying control means for controlling the dryness of the power generation unit And a cooling means provided at a position facing the cooling unit and supplying a cooling fluid to the cooling unit And a cooling fan also serving as temperature control means for controlling the temperature of the power generation unit And having The air supply fan and the cooling fan Are controlled and driven independently.
[0016]
The fuel cell includes a power generation unit and a cooling unit, and includes an air supply unit that supplies air to the power generation unit and a cooling unit that supplies a refrigerant to the cooling unit, thereby supplying oxygen to the power generation unit and Drying of the inside of the fuel cell and supply of the refrigerant to the cooling unit can be performed by separate systems. In addition, by independently controlling and driving the air supply means and the cooling means, moisture adjustment inside the power generation unit and temperature adjustment of the fuel cell can be performed independently, and the temperature environment and humidity environment of the fuel cell can be adjusted. Fine control is possible, and the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell can be increased.
[0018]
By controlling the degree of drying of the fuel cell by the drying control means and controlling the temperature of the fuel cell by the temperature control means, it becomes possible to finely control the temperature environment and the humidity environment of the fuel cell, and the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell can be improved. It becomes possible to raise.
