Description
The present invention relates to a control device for a continuously variable transmission that includes a torque converter having a lock-up clutch and shift control means for controlling a gear ratio steplessly.
Conventionally, a vehicle in which a torque converter is mounted between an engine and a continuously variable transmission is known. The torque converter is provided with a lockup clutch that mechanically connects the input side and the output side of the torque converter. The lockup clutch is turned on (engaged) based on the driving state of the vehicle (for example, vehicle speed and accelerator opening). ) State and OFF (released) state.
In the case of a continuously variable transmission equipped with such a torque converter, a turbine rotational speed sensor that detects the turbine rotational speed of the torque converter, an input rotational speed sensor that detects the rotational speed of the drive pulley of the continuously variable transmission, An output rotation speed sensor that detects the rotation speed of the driven pulley of the step transmission and a vehicle speed sensor are provided. The output signal of the input rotation speed sensor and the output signal of the output rotation speed sensor are used to output the continuously variable transmission. Shift control is implemented. In such a continuously variable transmission, even if either the turbine rotation speed sensor or the input rotation speed sensor breaks down, it is possible to perform shift control using the output signal of the other sensor.
On the other hand, there are continuously variable transmissions in which only one of the turbine rotational speed sensor and the input rotational speed sensor is provided for reasons such as cost reduction and inability to arrange the sensors in space. In such a continuously variable transmission, there is a problem that if the sensor on the input side, which is provided with only one, fails, the shift control of the continuously variable transmission cannot be performed. That is, when the lock-up clutch is in the engaged state (ON state), the engine speed and the drive pulley speed are equal, so the gear ratio can be obtained using the engine speed. This is because in the disengaged state, the engine speed and the drive pulley speed are different, so the actual gear ratio cannot be obtained and the speed change becomes impossible.
In Patent Document 1, in a continuously variable transmission in which only one of the turbine rotational speed sensor or the input rotational speed sensor is provided, the engine rotational speed, the drive shaft rotational speed, the driven shaft rotational speed, The number of rotations on the input side and output side of the continuously variable transmission depends on whether or not a predetermined relational expression is established between the speed ratio detected from the step number of the step motor of the hydraulic circuit that controls the transmission ratio of the transmission. An apparatus for detecting an abnormality of a sensor is disclosed.
When a sensor abnormality occurs, it is important to inform the driver of the abnormality at an early stage, but even in such an abnormality, it is possible to perform shift control almost as usual, that is, drivability (hereinafter referred to as drivability performance). It is desirable for the driver to prevent a decrease in
An object of the present invention is to provide a continuously variable transmission that has only one rotational speed sensor on the input side, and in the event that an abnormality occurs in that sensor, the shift control can be performed almost as usual, and the continuously variable transmission can be prevented from being deteriorated. An object of the present invention is to provide a transmission control device.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a torque converter having a lock-up clutch, and lock-up control means for performing switching control between an ON state in which the lock-up clutch is engaged and an OFF state in which the lock-up clutch is released based on a driving state of the vehicle. And a continuously variable transmission control device for detecting only the rotational speed of the drive pulley or the rotational speed of the turbine, and a shift control means for controlling the transmission ratio. Engine speed detecting means for detecting an abnormality of the input side rotational speed sensor, and when the abnormality detecting means detects a sensor abnormality, the lockup control means detects the vehicle speed and the accelerator opening. the lockup oN region determined based on the degree to extend as compared with the case where the abnormality detecting means does not detect a sensor abnormality In addition, the shift control means implements shift control using an output signal of the engine speed detection means when the lockup clutch is in an ON state instead of the output signal of the input side speed sensor. A control device for a continuously variable transmission is provided.
In the case of a continuously variable transmission having only one input-side rotational speed sensor, if an abnormality occurs in this sensor, shift control of the continuously variable transmission cannot be performed. In such a case, the ON region (engagement region) of the lockup clutch is expanded from the normal time so that the lockup clutch can be easily engaged as much as possible. If the lock-up clutch is engaged, the input side rotational speed can be substituted by the engine rotational speed, so that the shift control can be performed. As a result, even if an abnormality occurs in only one input-side rotational speed sensor, the shift control can be performed almost as usual, and the reduction in drivability performance can be prevented.
According to a preferred embodiment, the lock-up ON region when the abnormality detection unit detects a sensor abnormality may be extended to the low vehicle speed side as compared with the case where the abnormality detection unit does not detect the sensor abnormality.
In this case, since it is possible to enter the lockup ON region immediately after starting, the shift control can be started promptly.
According to a preferred embodiment, when the abnormality detection means detects a sensor abnormality, the time from when the lockup clutch starts to be engaged until it is completed is shorter than when the abnormality detection means does not detect the sensor abnormality. It is good to do.
In this case, since the engagement of the lockup clutch is completed early, the range in which the shift control can be performed is widened, and the drivability performance is further improved.
As described above, in the present invention, when an abnormality occurs in only one input side rotational speed sensor, the ON region of the lockup clutch is expanded from the normal time so that the lockup clutch can be easily engaged. The engine speed can be substituted for the side rotation speed, and shift control can be performed. As a result, even if an abnormality occurs in the input side rotational speed sensor, the shift control can be performed almost as usual, and the uncomfortable feeling felt by the driver can be suppressed.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to examples.

The continuously variable transmission controller 7 includes an
The controller 7 has a function of detecting a sensor abnormality of the input side
The sensor abnormality of the output side
FIG. 2 is an example of an ON / OFF determination map of the lockup clutch 3 set in the controller 7. FIG. 2A shows a case where the input side
As apparent from FIGS. 2A and 2B, the lock-up ON region is expanded to the lower vehicle speed side when the sensor is abnormal than when it is normal. Therefore, the lock-up clutch 3 is easily engaged from a low vehicle speed, and the lock-up state is entered immediately after starting. If the lockup state is established, the rotational speed of the
FIG. 2A shows a characteristic in which the lock-up ON region of the low accelerator opening when the sensor is normal spreads to the low vehicle speed side, but is not limited to this.
FIG. 2 (b) shows an example in which the lockup ON / OFF boundary line is set to a constant vehicle speed value regardless of the accelerator opening, and is always locked up when the vehicle speed exceeds a certain value when the sensor is abnormal. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the characteristic when the sensor is normal may be moved to the low vehicle speed side as it is.
FIG. 3 shows the change over time of the engagement characteristic of the lockup clutch 3 set in the controller 7, that is, the command hydraulic pressure (the differential pressure of the lockup clutch) of the lockup control solenoid valve 78 at the time of engagement.
The solid line in FIG. 3 is when the input side
The broken line in FIG. 3 is when the input side
As described above, the time ΔT2 from when the lock-up clutch 3 starts to complete when the sensor is abnormal is shorter than the time ΔT1 when the sensor is normal. For this reason, when the sensor is abnormal, the lockup clutch is fastened and the range in which the shift control can be performed is widened, and the drivability is further improved.
Here, an example of the shift control of the continuously variable transmission will be described with reference to FIG.
When starting, it is first determined whether or not the input side
On the other hand, if the input side
As shown in FIG. 2B, the lock-up ON region at the time of sensor abnormality is expanded to the low vehicle speed side, so that it can enter the lock-up ON region, that is, the region where shift control is possible immediately after starting. Therefore, even when the sensor is abnormal, it is possible to perform shift control almost the same as in normal times, and it is possible to avoid giving the driver and passengers a sense of incongruity.
Needless to say, when an abnormality of the input side
In the above-described embodiment, the example in which the
The input side rotational speed sensor in the present invention is not limited to the sensor that detects the rotational speed of the drive pulley as in the embodiment, but may be a sensor that detects the turbine rotational speed.
In the above embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2, the lockup ON region at the time of sensor abnormality is extended to the low vehicle speed side. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the high vehicle speed side, the high accelerator opening side, the low You may extend in arbitrary directions, such as the accelerator opening side.
