Description
1.欠陥要素リストにおける現在の画素の近隣にある全ての画素の集合を決定する。
2.近隣画素の集合のうち、欠陥画素候補の下位集合を決定する。下位集合が空である場合は、完了要件が満たされており、成長処理を完了する。
3.各欠陥画素候補について、色値比を計算する。全ての欠陥画素候補に対する色値比が所定の上限比の範囲内である場合は、完了要件が満たされており、成長処理を完了する。
4.一またはそれ以上の色値比が上限比を超えている場合は、上限比から最も離れた色値比を有する画素を、欠陥要素リストに加える。
5.欠陥要素リストを、所定の領域サイズ上限値と照合する。領域サイズ上限値に達しているか上回っている場合は、完了となり、成長処理を完了する。
6.完了に達するまで、ステップ1〜5を繰り返す。
Pr(redeye|color)>0
確率関数Prは、準備段階において、多数の画像を分析して既知の赤目及び非赤目画素を手作業で分類することで、発見的方法により決定することができる。非ゼロ確率を有している近隣画素がない場合は、成長処理を完了する。

ただし、Kは0.1、RDは欠陥対112の欠陥間の距離を画素単位で測定したものである。
ES=S2RS
ただし、ESは欠陥の期待サイズ、Sは赤目欠陥検出部110により用いられる倍率、RSは成長前欠陥のサイズを示す。
画素の数は、Q,ES,RSの便宜的な単位である。Q<1/2ESである場合は、成長済欠陥は許容範囲になく、過少補正を表しているとされる。それ以外の場合は、サイズ確認部132により、成長済欠陥は許容範囲にあるとみなされる。
Q<0.707ES
となる。QとESとは上述のとおりである。
左側成長前欠陥:(x1,y1)
右側成長前欠陥:(x2,y2)
距離測定部125は、単一画素の成長前欠陥対間の距離を、下記のような周知の距離計算式を用いて測定する。
RD=√{(x1−x2)2+(y1−y2)2}
SL1=RD×T1+T2
ただし、SL1は第一のサイズ上限値、RDは欠陥対間隔、T1は0.12〜0.20の範囲の定数、T2は0.0〜3.0の範囲の定数である。
T1は、人の瞳孔の最大直径を瞳孔間の距離で割った値であり、多数の人の瞳孔の大きさと瞳孔間の距離とを測定し、人の瞳孔間の最大及び平均又は中間距離を求めることにより決定することができる。T2は、距離RDが異常に低い場合に、第一のサイズ上限値SL1により過剰に削減を行って欠陥に損傷をきたさないよう、十分な「安全率」を確保するためのものである。T1の便宜的な値は0.18である。T2の便宜的な値は0である。
成長済欠陥の各画素について、その画素と中心(xc,yc)との間の第二の調整距離DCは、周知の距離計算式を用いて計算することができる。
SL2=RD×T3+T4
ただし、SL2は第二のサイズ上限値、RDは欠陥対間隔、T3は0.05〜0.10の範囲の定数、T4は0.0〜3.0の範囲の定数である。
RM=RD/cosA
ただし、RMとRDとは上述の通りであり、回転角Aは、被写体人物の目を結ぶ想像線と、像平面との間の最小角度である。回転角Aは、頭部の上端から下端までを通る垂直軸に対する頭部の回転角である。例えば、被写体がカメラを真っ直ぐ見ている場合は、角Aは0である。画像が、左横顔の像である場合は、角Aはp/2ラジアンである。

青色成分を補正する必要はなく、目のグリントに対しても、赤目画素の補正と同様の補正技術により対応することができる。したがって、この補正方法は極めて迅速に補正を行うことができるという利点を有する。

pG(x,y)=pB(x,y)+T5
pB(x,y)=pB(x,y)+T5
ただし、T5は補正済赤目欠陥を所望の明度に調整するために用いる定数とする。例えば、T5の値は、補正済赤目の所望の明度とデジタル画像102の色空間表現とに応じて、0〜−20の範囲とすることができる。

ただし、Wは0〜1の範囲である。
Wは、上述の、補正済欠陥に属するN×Nの近隣領域内の画素数Pに関連する重みである。好ましい重みWは、下記である。
Claims (1)
- デジタル画像における赤目を補正する方法において、
前記画像における、一の画素もしくは複数の連続画素群を有する成長前欠陥の対からなる成長前欠陥対を検出し、
前記成長前欠陥のそれぞれを成長させて、成長済欠陥対とし、
前記成長前欠陥対と前記成長済欠陥対のいずれかの間隔を測定して、欠陥対間隔を求め、
前記欠陥対間隔に応じて前記成長済欠陥のサイズを調整して、調整済欠陥とし、
前記調整済欠陥の色を変更して、赤目を軽減し、
前記欠陥対間隔に従って空間演算子を決定し、
改善されたデジタル画像を提供するため、前記空間演算子を用いて、前記調整された欠陥に近接する画像を混合する、方法。
